    I met Dan Severn in '06 and he was nothing but humble and such a nice guy! Nothing but a class act in a business that is nothing but cut-throat.

  • @KipSpoonerComedy

    Who the hell down voted this? This man was as pure an athlete as any true legend has been, at or above Kurt Angles pedistol. Regardless of professional sports profession. I personally thought he would have made an incredible boxer. But what he accomplished at such at late period in his life in comparison to all pro athletes is amazing. A true man's man and a gentleman.

      He is probably better than Vince. It's a shame that WWE has really hurt his tenure almost a decade ago. And you're right, he did accomplish a lot more than I even realized. A strong fighter.

      Lol how could u say above Kurt Angle he won a gold medal do you not realize how big an achievement that is

    • @dagameplayer
      @dagameplayer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thing about Angle though is he was the total package. He could not only wrestle multiple styles in the ring but was also amazing on the microphone. Could be intense for you, hilarious for you as a dork or badass. He even managed to make his dork character a badass at times. This Dan guy isn't in Angles league.

      This is a weird comment... First of all, there are only 3 dislikes on the video, so... ??? lol, unless you're talking about a comment or something... Idk. The Angle comment is really random. Angle won a gold medal at the Olympics. Doesn't get any bigger than that when it comes to accomplishments in sports. However, if we're talking legit fighting, Severn is the better overall fighter, as he has extensive experience in MMA and different forms of martial arts. Kurt only has wrestling, which Severn also has. But again, really random thing to say. In MMA, Severn was never the best striker, he'd mostly take his opponents down and submit them. So the boxer comment... ??? Idk what you're talking about.

    Dan is an honest MAN. Met and had a brief interaction with him outside an event. Yes he was MMA and currently a "pro" wrestler but was a humble guy with himself and fans, mark and non. I have "chatted" with a lot of pros during the parking lot and outside of the arena. He was a real honest dude for the business and for himself. Respect for tthis man. Talked to a lot of talent over the years and he was a top notch dude. .thanks Dan!!

      no necessarily beaver teeth, but he had huge pronounced top front teeth, and he was very conscious about them. You can see in the rare interviews he gave that he tried to hide that one characteristic about him often...still, Freddie was the fucken man!

    Severn was born in June 1958 according to wiki. thus in 1998 when he started with WWE he would have been 39. Shamrock started in 97, so when he was talking about when vince asked how old he was, he would have been 38, not 48 as he stated here.

    • @vikvegas8593

    To hear how this guy kept his independence and also managed his career/ name trademarks separate from the WWF is an achievement in itself, knowing how Vince wants to own your name and gimmicks and have complete ownership of your time when working for him. Look at the story Vader and how he believes he was ultimately punished for not agreeing to be the Mastodon.

    Honestly, I can't stop thinking "What if Severn joined WCW?" They could've booked him and Goldberg and made a fuck ton of money. Sure, it wouldn't have a classic work-wise, but still could've been a good draw.

    03:01 Severn wasn't 48 when he signed with WWF.
    If he was born in 1958, and he signed with WWF in 1998, would that not make him 40?
    If he was 36 at UFC 4 (in 1994), then he'd have been 40 in 1998.
    If we take the month into account, he was 39.
    Where is he getting 48 from?
