I freaking LOVE Oud Wood!! It’s so effing sexy!! I love it alone & I love layering it with my rose scents. I’m getting a bottle for Mother’s Day. Fragrances NEVER last on my skin but this one does. Ugh, it’s so addicting!! Btw - I don’t know if it matters but I have the same skin tone as you.
There is definitely Oud in there. The thing with Oud is not all ouds are the same. The oud I get in here is Oud Assam. And you will know once you can smell Oud Assam side by side. That being said, it's definitely there as a base and what projects more prominently is a smooth blend of aromatic woods with a touch of floral
Oud Assam is pretty animalic/ Barnyardish (ref. Dehnl Oud Shams/Khadim from Ajmal). If you want sweet or smoother smelling Oud you might prefer Cambodi Oud. Indian Oud is very very strong. The French fragrance industry rarely uses real oud. The picture shown for the promo of Oud Wood is the real oud collected from Anwar Oud just for the photos, which is really funny.
Skin tone definitely plays a role in how perfumes project and how they smell. There's literally a major science to it that most people never talk about except for Aaron.
Let's put it out there me being a black man its definitely a nice way of putting it to the point colognes/perfumes smell alot better on black people no matter the shades, then white people period. I take it its the melanin to pigment that we have it just holds fragrances better
Any factor that skin plays on fragrances is pretty much debunked pseudoscience. The only thing that matters is the skin’s moisture and skin color has nothing to do with that. I do notice darker people tend to focus on moisturizing even at young ages so that’s your factor right there.
One of my favorite fragrances -- however REALLY hard to find at discounted price ($458 for a 3.4 fl oz in Canada!!! More expensive than any discounted Creed / Nishane / Parfum de Marly fragrances). This and Hacivat are my signature fragrances.
Just picked this one up because of your comments on it. Unique and beautiful scent 🔥first sniff off the bottle was a bit yuck but once I sprayed and it settled it just hit ✅ ⚡️
Quick tip: there is a clone that isn’t that close, but is great on clothes - Woody Oud. Off skin, you can tell it’s trying, but trying too hard. But on fabric - holy crap.
I took a pottery class in high school and Oud Wood reminds me of the deep clay smell from that class, when you knead the clay. I really like this one, it's never really overbearing
@@hocineted7594 oud wood isn't much of a crowd clubbing fragrance that appeals to women. Within 4yrs it a scent scent but I recieved compliments by men and women that know me.
@@yorogue4973 Performance pretty weak, also projection is muted, more like a close-up, snuggly, 1-on-1 conversation type of aura radius. Can spray more though for more effect, but even then, it stays in your own bubble I think
I got a sample of oud wood given to me after purchasing a large bottle of TF Black Orchid and I have not stopped sniffing my wrists….it makes my eyes roll back lol❤

I always lean toward the "masculine" and definitely unisex frags and I'm a white lady! They also smell great on me. I don't own one feminine leaning perfume in my 20+ collection because they all tend to be sweet and flowery on me. It's been like this for me since my late teens and I'm now 50. It's all chemistry. I do have a question though. I do like this one a lot, but before I buy, I notice on several forums that batches after 2021 (and even 2020) are very weak/don't smell the same as earlier batches, and certainly not like the 2016 "golden" batch. Do you have any insight on this? For instance, I invested in JM's Oud and Bergamot and am sorely disappointed. Gorgeous construction on the nose, but less than a skin scent and criminally weak for the price. I don't want to make that mistake again. Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi , I really enjoy yr videos , u just go straight forward to the point and never ask no one to subscribe, love that , what I would like you to differentiate for me would be , Layton and oud wood Tom ford , which is the best one ? 😅😅😅

@@melissanacional9662 it does smell very similar I own a bottle but I still went and got my 3rd bottle of oud wood. It just hasn’t got the classy touch that Oud Wood does stick to Tom Ford. I’d you want better longevity I use molecule 01 then Oud Wood
Barely noticeable scent to begin with. No performance and no projection. Unless you spray like 30 sprays. Drydown is unimpressive as well. Completely unisex. But get a sample first and do the full wear then decide.
Again … and I said it in other videos - what a pleasure to hear a woman talk about perfumes usually being discussed or used by men. Thank you.
Thanks for the love :)

Being a heavy user of single ingredient of pure oud oil, I honestly think TF should replace the word "oud".
