Best way to repair sparking angle grinder armature

Hello.
Today i will show you how to repair sparking angle grinder at home.
The commutator of this angle grinder is damaged because there's a shorr circuit..
We cleaned it using a sand paper and we also soften the tip of the carbon brush and apply some grease on the gear side..

Should you have pulled bearing off before sanding commutator? Even with seal, a few abrasive grains could get into bearing, and will stay there forever destroying bearing.

Hello - I had similar sparking/popping problem on vacuum cleaner motor- sanded back armature - still had problem - is it possible that bad bearings could also cause this type of heat spark?. The bearings on both ends had a little play but rolled smoothly .

Sounds like you still have a problem. I have 2ea MAKITA 41/2” grinder with the same issue. I feel they made a mistake in the manufacturing this model. Mine is still new.
