I have 5222 and a 2655p-90 and absolutely love them. Currently I'm saving up to buy more of these Gretsch guitars. They are a fantastic value & great fun to play 👍👍
Do you know if those pickups have ceramic or alnico magnets? I ask because I've spent an hour online trying to find the specs and I can't find anything definitive, even over at the Gretsch user forum. I know some people say they are a little "muddy" (which makes me think of ceramics) and have a high output (which also makes me think of them as having ceramics) ... but I know you can also have those traits in a pickup with alnicos.
I have the original 2655 and love it but they do have rubbish tuners, swapped mine for set off gottoh which drop in fine, all sorted now. also the nut was poor on mine, had that sorted too by my guitar tech. Other than that it's fab.
@@Benson.BereTVyeah, I still have a ton of neck dive on mine. I actually like it while I’m playing as it nestles into my hand nicely, but it also means that it dives down hard once you let it go. Going to resort to a leather strap to help with that.
I’ve owned mine for like 2 years and never realized I had the coil split option 😂😂😂
You dont have the coil split if its two years older lol

Mix of alnico 2 n' 5
How do you know? Did you take them apart? As I said I can't find any definitive specs about their construction.
@@louisfryzel4618 i found it somewhere but i don't remember ...trust me. it's not ceramic. have a good day ^^
Not to be rude but as I said I am still looking for definitive proof of the pickups construction.
@@louisfryzel4618 as you want....so try to contact gretsch compagny....maybe they 'll know what you search.. good luck

they're unbalanced with a strap. I absolutely love it tho! The sound is amazing!
