Richard Attenborough and Sheila Sim were already married when they made this film. They were together nearly 70 years from 1945 until his death in 2014.
Baron Richard Attenborough - a multi talented, multi-award winning actor, director & producer won Best Picture Oscars for Oh! What a Lovely War, Young Winston, Ghandi (Best Picture; Best Director). A Chorus Line, Cry Freedom & A Bridge Too Far received multiple nominations. Some of his best acting in both comedies & dramas include In Which We Serve, The Man Upstairs, The Sand Pebbles, All Night Long, Seance on a Wet Afternoon, Dancing with Crime, The Magic Christian, The Pink Panther as well 2 OUTSTANDING British Noirs -- 10 Rillington Place & Brighton Rock. British Film Noir has a very distinctive & distinguished pedigree that focuses on British heists & legit/non-legit night life. Many British Noirs are based on novels whose talented novelists & professional screenwriters used as material. American studios had money in Europe which they couldn't retrieve; consequently, the studios sent American talent overseas: Gene Tierney, Richard Widmark, Jean Peters, Thelma Ritter and several American directors (Samuel Fuller) to the UK & to France (Jules Dassin).
I was thinking that. Wow, she had the sexiest part in ths film. The "baby faced" taxi dancer. She was exploited as badly as Judy Garland was, in retrospect.
They managed 2 fit a good bit in2 this film.. THAT INCLUDES ALL THE ADS,, THEY JUST KEEP COMING.. I LOST COUNTY ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH..🤬🤬😡⚓😠.. I Was Enjoying the FILM. But the stopping & starting is REALLY ANNOYING!! 😡.. REALLY ANNOYING..
@doolo.13 I rarely get one add, interrupting a movie😮 I think it is because I immediately erase every one as fast as possible! Another thing that causes me to think so, is that I usually am close enough to hear my wife's phone and whatever she is watching. And she allows half...or all, of every add that comes to her phone! And in the time I get zero, she gets from 3 to eight, same length of time!!
Such a young Richard Attenborough ! Love British B&W movies. Fan from France.🎉

fun watch a bit naive and contrived could have used a lot of editorial and script work but somewhat entertaining.
