Faster way to get exact gp amounts: You can use the GE to get the an exact amount of coins. As a UIM (or IM for that matter) you are allowed to use the GE to buy bonds. Just place an offer with the total amount of gp you have in your inventory minus exactly the amount of gp required to buy something. You'll be left with the exact amount of gp in your inventory.

Settled...my guy...I just watched you place your air battlestaff on the table twice in order to have the inventory slots to pickpocket, while wearing the bow that you were planning to drop anyway. Am I missing something? Drop the bow, equip the staff, pickpocket, buy new bow. Absolutely loving this new series, highly entertaining and incredibly creative. Par for the course from you!
What if, instead of the inventory blocker things, the inventory was just one massive slot scaled up. Just imagine a coin stack being the size of the inventory or something
I think changing the clickbox for it to match could trigger jagex's bot detection (may be straight up against their 3rd party client rules), and *not* scaling up the clickbox to match would be annoying to play with lol
You could probably do it easily in the editing though. Just expand that portion of the screen to a bigger portion of the screen in the video editing software lmao
Hilariously enough I was just about to run this exact same grind to get a yew shortbow so I can do Temple of Ikov, so I can start knocking out pre-reqs on my solo GIM account for the new quest. I died 3 times trying to fight it without protect melee. Was really nice watching you try to accomplish the same grind!
I'd double check but I read that you can skip the yew shortbow req. on an ironman by using knives with the ice arrows in the ammo slot equipped. Apparently the game only checks that A.) you are using ranged B.) You have ice arrows equipped.
I’m always so fortunate and play these videos at full volume and my fiancé has to overhear it all without having a damn clue how RuneScape works 😂 settled and the GG are my main connections to RuneScape because I stopped playing 2 years ago but damn do they make it tempting to come back and try a challenge like this 😅
Hey, the maze random has a secret, if you open those chests and don't close the chatbox the time wont run out, and you can keep opening them every one minute when they re-close, could be useful for iron/bronze arrows. Also exact money can be gotten by the GE bond method!
For your next maze event, don't complete the maze but loot the chests you can loot the same chest multiple times, it banks the items if you run out of space but youre uim so not sure if it'll drop on the ground while in the maze or once you're out of it worth a try if you need alot of arrows
No matter how far away I get from playing OSRS at time this man always drives my attention back to the game. Stimulate new possibilities to over come, and catches my attention to pick the game back up. I will always be a fan my friend. Keep going.
For anyone wondering, barehanded implings don’t work because of the chance of receiving a clue scroll as a secondary reward, as is the case if you attempted to open an impling jar with only one open inventory slot.
@@Anton-cm6uj Well, he could theoretically do it in possibly a couple different ways, but none that would be terribly meaningful; Hunter probably is largely useless for this type of account. If he were to go to Chambers of Xeric, it may be possible to farm the bats in the resource room for Hunter XP or maybe buy a noose wand to do kebbit tracking, but I’m unsure if the game allows you to get the kill with only one inventory slot as it drops bones, kebbit fur, and raw meat. After that, the only useful thing he MAY be able to do is box trap for chinchompas, which I’m not even sure he’d be able to do. It would only be possible if you can re-lay a full trap that’s already on the ground, plus it would require partial completion of Eagles’ Peak.
It was only because he needed an axe and tinderbox which the tutor right there gives for free. Making it so he doesn't have to go get the exact gp for each and buy them. After that those trees just happen to be the closest.
FYI the Target range at the Ranging Guild might be clutch. You start the competition by paying 200gp for 10 bronze arrows that drop to the ground with a full inventory. You can then repeatedly ask for 10 more arrows for 100 gp that also drop. Doing the actual competition, you swap points for archery tickets that also drop to the ground when full. Then, you can trade 2000 of these tickets for 50 rune arrows as a set, so if you have exactly 2000 tickets it swaps with a full invent. Only problem is getting exactly 2k tickets. But hey, the bronze arrow finding is better than hopping for 4 bronze arrows at a time.
I got called a genius for doing the firemaking method at lumby Bank back in actual 07. I was just a f2p noob that didn't want to train woodcutting but wanted one skill higher than my buddy. I felt like a baller at 15
Hey man. I have an alternative way to use the arrow shop in Varrock. So when you tried it, you had more the 3 gp that the arrow costs in your inventory. This caused the arrow to try to go to the second spot. I just tried this and it works. Just have the exact gp in your inventory that the arrow costs and it will go into slot 1. I tried it on the higher tier arrows too and it works. This will definitely be a time consuming process but it solves your problem. Good luck on the rest of your series!
I know this is probably just a short account, but I think a 2 inventory account could make for a super interesting longer term account. I know with the tileman there might not be much time, but it would 100% be something I would watch immediately every time I see a new episode. Love ya Settled!
In the fally party room, if you have noted items you can drop in any miner of your items, leaving you with one note that you can then use on a bank teller
Great video as always. If things get too rough grind wise I feel like you could make an exception to buy those arrows. The fact that they move an inventory spot over, even with exact coins isn't your fault. Since it works with everything else I feel like it would be within the spirit of the challenge, but that's just my opinion. Keep up the good work
A bit too late now, but there's actually a safespot in the ancient cavern where you can wait out the aggro timer for all of the mobs in the part of the cave you were in (along with a second safespot where you can range the skeletons and spirits).
In the stronghold under barbarian village you have Minotaurs which drop a lot of iron arrows. I remember training there and always receiving big numbers of iron arrows.
I love how challenge arrows show weird underlying functions that would otherwise not matter. Like how buying a stack is like making multiple purchases instead of 1.
I hate that Settled started another serie next to tile limited Iron man, but you got to respect it, the grinding this man does just to entertain us is next level, I never played or watch RS before, but this man is just insane in telling a story, much love
For the Rune Arrows, I *think* you could do the shooting range at the ranging guild for tickets, then trade in 2k tickets for 50 rune arrows. Probably a lot of juggling (200gp for 10 shots that get you 0-100 tickets). If you're trying to run with Rune Arrows in the fight cave, that's probably your best bet.
Well, you're not gunna like this, but after the equipment update Shazien armor 5 is good range armor, and its possible to get with just 1 inventory slot I believe. If not extremely tedious getting one first aid kit, using, and repeating for favor, then equipping armor as you get it.
There is a way to get your exact needed coins to nardah, a bank! :) no really you can put an offer in at the ge for a bond with the exact number of coins you need then abort the offer and the coins can be collected from any bank a very useful trick for uims! And as fun as it is to watch and theory craft getting the exact coins you need you could use this to drop any extra coins you have.
"Use what you see" account! Anytime you find an equippable, you have to equip it until it's replaced by another. Anytime you see a new enemy/skilling action, you have to kill/do it at least once (e.g. walking past a magic tree means you need to level WCing and FMing until you can do it). It would mostly involve strategically avoiding certain places and enemies.
After swampletics i thought this is the most grueling thing one can put themselves through in this game, then came mctile, aaand then came richard tape. Settled is just built different❤
Something I learned from a newer ultimate ironman series is that you can store gp in whatever increment you want by making an offer to buy a bond on the grand exchange and then aborting it. The gp can be reclaimed at any bank. This would be a great way to make backups to rebuy items should you ever wipe.
You should train ranged on Minotaurs in Stronghold of security. In the most northwest room (directly east of the entrance/exit) there are lvl 11 Minotaurs which you can safespot. They drop iron arrows frequently and if you hit good, you can end up with a positive arrow yield. I did it a few years ago - after a few days I ended up having 7k arrows. I repeat: I was using those arrows to train and still I ended up having so many of them! Edit: posted it before watching to the end, but I’m happy I was right 😅

Not sure if this would ever be useful but in case it is: you could get more money than you need for an item, go to a certain shop and buy something, then sell it back for x amount of gp and that could be an easier way to get certain denominations of money. Just a thought, hope it might help! Love the series as usual Settled!
I saw another comment suggest unlocking more slots and this is exactly where my brain went! would be a way to sustain the series post mcTile and I'm sure loads of viewers would want to keep watching
@@nillzzzz yeah, I think unlocking slots could keep it sustainable for a bit longer. I mean, I'd love to see it stay at one slot and just keep going, but eventually it'd prolly be too limiting. I do worry that unlocking more slots could eventually run into the tile man issue of the main mechanic of the run losing its pressure as the run keeps going though. Prolly best to have significant enough goals that you basically unlock one slot per season and stop somewhere around the 4-8 slot range.
@@markadelf Yup exactly, would need to make sure the difficulty level remains somewhat consistent, or ramps up its intensity, to keep it interesting. Not an OSRS expert but 4 slots seems like a decent place to cap it off. would essentially be 4 mini-series at that point.

If you ever get to smithing you can mine for the imcando hammer in camdozaal ruins which you can use, there's a droppable regular hammer to smith the Barronite deposits, only thing it will probably take a long time with a bit of inventory juggling/despawn timer management
At first I wanted to say that crossbow path might be worth it just for the shield slot, but then when I began researching I came to a conclusion that it might acually not matter that much at all. Can't get damaged book - requires horrors from the deep and alfred arimhand's barcrawl. Can't get broodoo shield - requires more inventory slots. Can't get satchels - requires tower of life. Can't get leather shields - requires more inventory slots. Wooden shields are not worth it - mirror shield is better than yew shield. Can't get white sq shield - requires Wanted! Only kinda viable options - Fally shield 1 (+1 prayer, 25% prayer recharge) fremmy shield rune sq shield clue scroll items defenders
What about different coffers for storing cash? Like the Servant bag in your house or Nightmare Zones coffer. They allow you to deposit/withdraw exact amounts.
So maybe possible gear drops to get (not sure if they would be BIS): Red d'hide vambraces from Lizardman shaman (1/50) or Blue d'hide vambraces from Waterfiend (1/128). Red d'hide body from Crazy archaeologist (1/32). Maybe look into Barrows if possible since you only need a spade but idk how the chest works if you only have one slot open.
What if you bought a house, used the fishing trawler to get construction exp until 20 and relocated your house to pollnivneach so that you could buy the green dhide?

TBH from the start when talking about needing arrows, first thing that always comes to mind is the SOS. Sure it won't be the most arrows/hour gained, but it's pretty easy to combine with training too. Just grab a steel scim from the wildy to use if you run short of arrows.
My first thought for arrows for training was minotaurs in the stronghold since they drop iron arrows in stacks of like 10 at a pretty consistent rate. I'd assume it would be better than the bronze arrows he is hopping for. Edit - Well guess I should have continued watching the video as he moved to those lmao.
Lmao, when you were going for the maple short bow, you could've just dropped the oak short bow and equipped the staff instead of tabling it, since you were replacing the bow anyway. :) Slight oversight anyway. Your audacity to do these challenges is insane, so props for that.
Amazing episode as always Settled! Your theory crafting and dedication to the ruleset is really incredible. Also you mentioned in the last episode and in this one that there was a possibility someone has spent time picking up those Chaos Runes in the Wilderness. I can confirm, I was that person. As a kid I thought I stumbled across a gold mine because I thought Chaos Runes were some kind of super valuable, high-level item. I spent a long time picking them up and selling them on the GE. Those were dark times. As a quick side-question, did you check into the Archery Ticket system in the Ranging Guild? Not sure if it would work on a one-inventory slot account, but I'm pretty sure you can use those to buy arrows.
you can use the shooting range in the ranging guild to get Rune arrows. you need to pay 200 coins for 10 bronze arrows wich yields 0-100 tickets dependent on your score. With 2000 tickets you can buy 50 rune arrows. the crux is that you probably need to get 200 coins each time since i'm not sure if the bronze arrows from there have a different ID = will not auto equip if you have "regular" bronze arrows equipped. worth looking into i guess :shrug: you'd have to buy 10 arrows > drop gold > do the minigame then drop the tickets > loot gold repeat if that is the case
you might be able to get the equippable hammer, and make iron/bronze knives. there's also a chest with steel arrows in hemnester but it might give both coins AND arrows. you can probably get into the desert with any item on you by getting a construction cape (repair wintertodt braziers for con xp)
I like to think that the reason Richard Tape only has one inventory slot is because he's wearing a skin-tight onesie with no pockets, and the one slot comes from the uh... frontal pocket.
Only halway into the vid so this comment might be premature but minotaurs drop an incredible amount of iron arrows, so much it will sustain your usage and actually net you more arrows than you spend there. It has been the start of all my f2p ranged Training ever since the stronghold of security was released. I hope settled can make use of this
Here's an idea. There are many minigames and tasks that give points (zeal, slayer points, etc.). You can buy many things with this points, including arrows. I'm sure this is better than just picking up bronze arrows then farming for irons
A thought I had while watching the segments with the bow upgrades, as someone who knows very little about this game: Would it not make more sense to drop the bow you are about to replace instead of the invaluable battlestaff? If you're already about to replace it, you don't need to worry about the despawn timer at all and you can just focus on the gp. This means not only less trips, but also less risk.

I think it's adorable and hilarious that of all the trees in runescape you immediately run to and use the three tileman trees. Nostalgia :)

Hey man. I have an alternative way to use the arrow shop in Varrock. So when you tried it, you had more the 3 gp that the arrow costs in your inventory. This caused the arrow to try to go to the second spot.
I just tried this and it works. Just have the exact gp in your inventory that the arrow costs and it will go into slot 1. I tried it on the higher tier arrows too and it works.
This will definitely be a time consuming process but it solves your problem.

I know this is probably just a short account, but I think a 2 inventory account could make for a super interesting longer term account. I know with the tileman there might not be much time, but it would 100% be something I would watch immediately every time I see a new episode. Love ya Settled!
In the fally party room, if you have noted items you can drop in any miner of your items, leaving you with one note that you can then use on a bank teller
Great video as always. If things get too rough grind wise I feel like you could make an exception to buy those arrows. The fact that they move an inventory spot over, even with exact coins isn't your fault. Since it works with everything else I feel like it would be within the spirit of the challenge, but that's just my opinion. Keep up the good work
A bit too late now, but there's actually a safespot in the ancient cavern where you can wait out the aggro timer for all of the mobs in the part of the cave you were in (along with a second safespot where you can range the skeletons and spirits).

In the stronghold under barbarian village you have Minotaurs which drop a lot of iron arrows. I remember training there and always receiving big numbers of iron arrows.
I love how challenge arrows show weird underlying functions that would otherwise not matter. Like how buying a stack is like making multiple purchases instead of 1.

For the Rune Arrows, I *think* you could do the shooting range at the ranging guild for tickets, then trade in 2k tickets for 50 rune arrows. Probably a lot of juggling (200gp for 10 shots that get you 0-100 tickets). If you're trying to run with Rune Arrows in the fight cave, that's probably your best bet.
Buying stacks of items with coins isn't possible, I don't think there's any reason tickets would work differently.
Just go for full void armour and arrows from lms and this series Is over in the next episode….

Well, you're not gunna like this, but after the equipment update Shazien armor 5 is good range armor, and its possible to get with just 1 inventory slot I believe. If not extremely tedious getting one first aid kit, using, and repeating for favor, then equipping armor as you get it.

There is a way to get your exact needed coins to nardah, a bank! :) no really you can put an offer in at the ge for a bond with the exact number of coins you need then abort the offer and the coins can be collected from any bank a very useful trick for uims! And as fun as it is to watch and theory craft getting the exact coins you need you could use this to drop any extra coins you have.
This series is CBT with extra steps. I love it.
"Use what you see" account! Anytime you find an equippable, you have to equip it until it's replaced by another. Anytime you see a new enemy/skilling action, you have to kill/do it at least once (e.g. walking past a magic tree means you need to level WCing and FMing until you can do it). It would mostly involve strategically avoiding certain places and enemies.
After swampletics i thought this is the most grueling thing one can put themselves through in this game, then came mctile, aaand then came richard tape.

Something I learned from a newer ultimate ironman series is that you can store gp in whatever increment you want by making an offer to buy a bond on the grand exchange and then aborting it. The gp can be reclaimed at any bank. This would be a great way to make backups to rebuy items should you ever wipe.
You should train ranged on Minotaurs in Stronghold of security.
In the most northwest room (directly east of the entrance/exit) there are lvl 11 Minotaurs which you can safespot. They drop iron arrows frequently and if you hit good, you can end up with a positive arrow yield.
I did it a few years ago - after a few days I ended up having 7k arrows. I repeat: I was using those arrows to train and still I ended up having so many of them!

Not sure if this would ever be useful but in case it is: you could get more money than you need for an item, go to a certain shop and buy something, then sell it back for x amount of gp and that could be an easier way to get certain denominations of money. Just a thought, hope it might help! Love the series as usual Settled!
Love this, when you get the fire cape you should unlock a second inventory slot, then go for inferno or something idk.
I saw another comment suggest unlocking more slots and this is exactly where my brain went! would be a way to sustain the series post mcTile and I'm sure loads of viewers would want to keep watching
@@nillzzzz yeah, I think unlocking slots could keep it sustainable for a bit longer. I mean, I'd love to see it stay at one slot and just keep going, but eventually it'd prolly be too limiting. I do worry that unlocking more slots could eventually run into the tile man issue of the main mechanic of the run losing its pressure as the run keeps going though. Prolly best to have significant enough goals that you basically unlock one slot per season and stop somewhere around the 4-8 slot range.
@@markadelf Yup exactly, would need to make sure the difficulty level remains somewhat consistent, or ramps up its intensity, to keep it interesting. Not an OSRS expert but 4 slots seems like a decent place to cap it off. would essentially be 4 mini-series at that point.

If you ever get to smithing you can mine for the imcando hammer in camdozaal ruins which you can use, there's a droppable regular hammer to smith the Barronite deposits, only thing it will probably take a long time with a bit of inventory juggling/despawn timer management
Would LMS be an option for rune arrows?
At first I wanted to say that crossbow path might be worth it just for the shield slot, but then when I began researching I came to a conclusion that it might acually not matter that much at all.
Can't get damaged book - requires horrors from the deep and alfred arimhand's barcrawl.
Can't get broodoo shield - requires more inventory slots.
Can't get satchels - requires tower of life.
Can't get leather shields - requires more inventory slots.
Wooden shields are not worth it - mirror shield is better than yew shield.
Can't get white sq shield - requires Wanted!
Only kinda viable options -
Fally shield 1 (+1 prayer, 25% prayer recharge)
fremmy shield
rune sq shield
clue scroll items
defenders
What about different coffers for storing cash? Like the Servant bag in your house or Nightmare Zones coffer. They allow you to deposit/withdraw exact amounts.
He'll need 58 Construction for the Servant's moneybag
He wouldn't be able to hold the materials needed to build the servant's moneybag. The NMZ coffer also only accepts multiples of 1000.
So maybe possible gear drops to get (not sure if they would be BIS): Red d'hide vambraces from Lizardman shaman (1/50) or Blue d'hide vambraces from Waterfiend (1/128). Red d'hide body from Crazy archaeologist (1/32). Maybe look into Barrows if possible since you only need a spade but idk how the chest works if you only have one slot open.
What if you bought a house, used the fishing trawler to get construction exp until 20 and relocated your house to pollnivneach so that you could buy the green dhide?
I don't think he can use teleport to house though (air, earth, & law rune required)

TBH from the start when talking about needing arrows, first thing that always comes to mind is the SOS. Sure it won't be the most arrows/hour gained, but it's pretty easy to combine with training too. Just grab a steel scim from the wildy to use if you run short of arrows.
My first thought for arrows for training was minotaurs in the stronghold since they drop iron arrows in stacks of like 10 at a pretty consistent rate. I'd assume it would be better than the bronze arrows he is hopping for.

Also you mentioned in the last episode and in this one that there was a possibility someone has spent time picking up those Chaos Runes in the Wilderness. I can confirm, I was that person. As a kid I thought I stumbled across a gold mine because I thought Chaos Runes were some kind of super valuable, high-level item. I spent a long time picking them up and selling them on the GE. Those were dark times.
As a quick side-question, did you check into the Archery Ticket system in the Ranging Guild? Not sure if it would work on a one-inventory slot account, but I'm pretty sure you can use those to buy arrows.

you can use the shooting range in the ranging guild to get Rune arrows. you need to pay 200 coins for 10 bronze arrows wich yields 0-100 tickets dependent on your score. With 2000 tickets you can buy 50 rune arrows. the crux is that you probably need to get 200 coins each time since i'm not sure if the bronze arrows from there have a different ID = will not auto equip if you have "regular" bronze arrows equipped. worth looking into i guess :shrug:
you'd have to buy 10 arrows > drop gold > do the minigame then drop the tickets > loot gold repeat if that is the case
you might be able to get the equippable hammer, and make iron/bronze knives.
there's also a chest with steel arrows in hemnester but it might give both coins AND arrows.
you can probably get into the desert with any item on you by getting a construction cape (repair wintertodt braziers for con xp)
I like to think that the reason Richard Tape only has one inventory slot is because he's wearing a skin-tight onesie with no pockets, and the one slot comes from the uh... frontal pocket.
Only halway into the vid so this comment might be premature but minotaurs drop an incredible amount of iron arrows, so much it will sustain your usage and actually net you more arrows than you spend there. It has been the start of all my f2p ranged Training ever since the stronghold of security was released. I hope settled can make use of this

Here's an idea. There are many minigames and tasks that give points (zeal, slayer points, etc.). You can buy many things with this points, including arrows. I'm sure this is better than just picking up bronze arrows then farming for irons

A thought I had while watching the segments with the bow upgrades, as someone who knows very little about this game:
Would it not make more sense to drop the bow you are about to replace instead of the invaluable battlestaff? If you're already about to replace it, you don't need to worry about the despawn timer at all and you can just focus on the gp. This means not only less trips, but also less risk.
