    I love how excited you two are with your new home!
    Two small tips/suggestions from Auntie Deb (which you may or may not already know, so just take them with love 💗).
    1. If you paint your kitchen cabinets white, be sure to take some bit of something that has your actual wall color on it so the paint store can mix it to exactly match. You’d be amazed how many shades of white there are - and just slightly off will be SO noticeable.
    2. White subway tile in the shower. Great idea! It’ll look spiffy. BLACK grout … not so much. A light to medium gray is all you need to make the subway tiles pop - and it won’t end up looking like a checkerboard. 😉
    Ask how I know. 😂
    Congrats on the progress! I hope to someday get down there to visit. ❤

      Yes, we are thrilled to get settles in and be able to relax for a little bit! We painted the cabinets white in our our last two houses so, that project, we are definitely familiar with! As for the grout, you're right black would probably stand out too much. We'll make sure it blends well :)
      You are welcome to visit anytime!

    Be careful about having plumbing on any exterior wall especially with a thin wall. Will freeze up pretty quick even in Texas just a heads up

      @dogwoodriverranch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir, I had already thought about that but thank you for the tip! If we do put it in that wall, we would significantly upgrade the insulation in that section to accommodate any weather that could cause issues!

    Congratulations on your new home, its beautiful! Im a first time viewers. Im a little confused why you would purchase a brand new Solitaire home and redo so much already? Is it because Solitaire offers so little in terms of options that you pretty much get what the production run has for that particular model at that time? I guess its a small price to pay to get Solitaire quality? Anyway, happy for you guys and look forward to seeing your custom finished Solitaire!!

      Hi Joel, thanks for reaching out! That is a great question. The short answer is, yes, it is because of the limited options at the time of production. We bought a Solitaire 100% because of the quality, not the interior finishes. They are able to have a comparable sales price only because they use run of the mill finishes inside. And in my option, I don't blame them at all otherwise they'd have to sell their homes well above an average mobile home price therefore they'd lose a lot of customers. We wanted the Solitaire quality but had just enough spare money that we wanted to make it feel more like a normal home. We are planning to do an interior video very soon so stick with us so you can see what we're done! Thanks for watching!

    How much did you pay for it? Where did you get this house?

    • @dogwoodriverranch
      @dogwoodriverranch  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Susan, sorry for the slow response. This home is built by Solitaire Homes and we purchased it from the dealership in Tyler, Texas. If I remember correctlty, it was right around $125,000 which included installation and HVAC.

    Did you use your VA home loan to purchase your home??

    • @dogwoodriverranch
      @dogwoodriverranch  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for watching! Good question. But no, we decided to go with a conventional loan because VA has much more strict guidelines when it comes to manufactured homes. It would’ve double the length of the process and also costs a lot more money in the long run. The only real benefit of a VA loan is the zero down payment, however, we were blessed to have money saved up from the sale of our previous home which helped us put down a large down payment as well as get a much better interest rate.

    On uour tour video you stated all these upgrades would be made before delivery. None of my business but why spend all that money to change all those fixtures? I wouldn't have bought it if they didn't customize it

    • @dogwoodriverranch
      @dogwoodriverranch  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      During the tour video I misunderstood some things. The salesman told me the upgrades could be done but he actually meant by a contractor after the fact, not directly from the factory. They do have certain options but they are not able to customize everything to your every need. Manufactured homes just simply don't work that way. However, it's totally worth the money because Solitaire builds the best construction quality homes in the business. So we were okay spending more money to customize it to our liking knowing that it was built well. Whereas many of the other companies make the home look fancy but they are built very poorly. Hope that answers the question!

    Love the floorplan and finished drywall.is a winner plus real wood cabinets. Only iss is why do they put such giant windows in some of the tooms.. a normal width.window would look so much better...But overall beautiful.

      We've been very happy with out home. We actually love the big windows but that's also because we are blessed to have good views out of every window! Stay tuned for an update video on the house soon!
