I remember reading Adam Smith's comments on the poor state of french society on The Wealth Of Nations (written in 1776) and thinking "oh boy, he has no idea..."
A great sidenote to the French Revolution of 1789 would be the Irish "Revolution" ( more of a rebellion) of 1798. It was very bloody and thousands of lrishmen (and several regiments of French troops) fought in Wexford and Mayo. Thousands were butchered. lreland's rebellion was directly influenced by the French Revolution. Anyone interested in the French Revolution would love the lrish one,it was a complete failure but fascinating.
Relistening this, and it's my favorite so far. I get a bit bored of hearing of battles after battles, but this revolution has way more political intrigue.
For other links between Revolutions, Henri IV was the father of Henrietta Maria, the wife of Charles I and mother of Charles II from back in the English Revolution.

Shane Gillis hyped up this series on his podcast 5 years ago. He’s famous now. Coincidence? Historians do not believe in coincidence.
These podcasts have been setting off alarm bells for me because of how similar they all are to modern times.
Some kind of approximation between this series of scenarios and the spanish early twentieth century seems a credible prospect for us
I said a similar thing on Historically Adequate's channel and he bit my head off for blaming his leftist buddies.
Human experience is a constant state of flux
Thank you so much, you are a king for making these.
