As a fellow mechanical engineer- welcome! None of us “love” it, but I do love when a product in the real world comes together. They look so cool. And if you find the right company, sometimes you get engineer/book friends. Us MechE ladies at work started a book club and Love Theoretically is next months book! So you just need to find the right crew in the real world.
honestly that's really nice and encouraging to hear, so thank you for the perspective!! also your book club sounds so lovely, i hope you enjoy love theoretically!!💗
omgg this was literally so lovely, after spending my whole day cramming for an exam, i picked up my sweater vest i'm currently crocheting and sat down to work it on while watching your new video AND then i saw u were knitting and that was just perfecttt vibes ✨ it felt like hanging out with a bestie and i just loved listening to you and getting to know you more! i would honestly love these types of videos regularly, maybe you could do your reading wrap ups in a similar style and just chat about the books you read recently like this, just super chill, as if you were telling a friend and knit or crochet while you talk, i think that would make for a super cozy video 💗
aw yay, i'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it!! i definitely want to do more videos in this style because i also really liked doing this! (also i hope your exam went well💗)
I felt the same way as you about going into industry for engineering! I've found industry is actually so different than school though (in a good way)! If you don't like a lot of the math you're doing in class you might actually like industry better because it feels like a lot more project management than actual engineering principles, at least in my experience!
also i'd love to see how you progress with the scarf 👀 the color is so cute!! i've been learning how to knit as well recently but it can be so frustrating sometimes lol
Two series I'd love to hear your thoughts on are Renegades and The Lunar Chronicles both by Marrissa Meyer. Renegades is an absolute favorite of mine and they're both just fun, YA fantasy reads.
aww the pictures of your kittes! they've grown so much! i didn't know fritz was an old lady ;______; i hope she's still living her best life. oh, no. i was so excited when you mentioned you went to disneyland with your mum, but then the covid news ㅠㅠ glad you're fine now
It was nice getting to know you a little more. Thanks for sharing. Been also learning to crochet. It's very relaxing. What a nice way to start the week off!! 🖤🖤🖤
When people said you'll get fully into Malazan by book 5 they didn't mean that the series gets good in book 5, they meant that by book 5 you'll get used to the complexity of the series. Malazan is great from page 1.
Love that you picked up knitting. I also knitt. Need to put it in my reading vlogs more. Can't wait to see the reading vlog. Hope that it will be out Friday.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is one of my favorite books. You should definitely give it a chance some day. Thanks for letting me know about the kitties ❤ Fact: I've never seen the Gilmore Girls. Don't hurt me lol
I think you would really enjoy Fredrick backman! He’s more lit/contemporary fiction, but his writing is so spectacular. I would recommend beartown for a more serious book & anxious people for a more lighthearted, funny vibe! Love the video as always Katie! 💕 P.S- I’ve also been reading Jane eyre for like a year 🫣 solidarity!
I'm an engineer and you'd be surprised how many companies are looking for them to fill really any role, technical or not! People just want employees that have critical thinking skills which you're learning lots of :)
Hi, fellow engineer! I graduated with my undergrad in 2022 and I totally get what you mean by not LOVING engineering but also not really liking anything else haahaa. I hope grad school is still treating you well! Industry is scary and I’m thinking about going back to school.
The Seven Year Slip is so good! Definitely a must read! Also, The Prison Healer trilogy is so good! Read it in one week! Maybe do a vlog for that series😊
What a cosy and fun video! Just what I needed at the end of the day. Also, you're so right about Jess in 'New girl'. I just watched that show for Schmidt and Cece. 😂
AM I THE ONLY HUMAN GOING INSANE THAT MY COMMENT WAS IN THE VIDEO LIKE AHHHH THIS HAD NEVER EVER HAPPENDED TO ME. Sorry that was really energetic but I love the vibes of this vid 😊
I loved Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood AND Gwen and Art are not in love..I think that. Might be because it’s a FF/MM book..that’s kind of how I even knew about it..but.. the end might throw you off a little. I didn’t hate it but it could’ve been better..
Awesome video-you could probably do an ask-me-questions video every 6 months with the way your channel is growing 😁 Sorry to hear you had the coco bug 🦠 January is probably my least favorite month of the year so I have sympathy with how yours has been going.
I have never read fantasy like Harry Potter even though I love the movies..i have read Secret Society of irregular witches so that fantasy sort of I guess. I don't know where to start fantasy wise and what does fantasy consist of? I usually stick to my cozy mystery series but I'm curious about fantasy.
Hi!! Because of your videos, I want to start reading Brandon Sanderson books but i don't know where to start. Can you recommend me one of his books?? 🤗
I feel the same way about Gilmore Girls. I first watched it when I was in high school, but now in my 30s if I rewatch Lorelai's immaturity annoys the piss out of me. Maybe I'm just not in the target audience anymore. Problems of getting old, I guess! 😝
I love how despite a hard stem degree you are able to focus so much on reading as well...
The Kindle page turner…game changer. My hands freeze all the time and being able to keep them under a blanket while I read is amazing
it sounds so elite honestly, i might have to break down and buy one😮
The parabatai ceremony was PEAK 🤌

Katie knitting and doing a q&a vid is nothing better than my whole day!!!
That’s actually trueeee!!!!
i can sit throughout a whole katie-video without getting distracted or spaced-out
thank you so much🥺
going to grad school because you aren’t really sure what else to do is so real LMAO

ooh now i am even more intrigued!!👀😮
i just finished the dead romantics and i loooved it - so fun and the ghost vibes were everything !!
also i'd love to see how you progress with the scarf 👀 the color is so cute!! i've been learning how to knit as well recently but it can be so frustrating sometimes lol
OMG I learned crochet last year after watching a video of yours and now I started knitting less than 1 month ago too!!
Def need more knitting videos, this video was like a tease for me as a crocheter also picking up knitting

fritz is indeed an old lady, but she is definitely living her best life!!!
This video felt like cozying up on the couch with a friend and just chatting about anything and everything ☺️🧡

@@katieisreading No rush. Read it whenever the mood strikes you. It's definitely an acquired taste. Something you have to be in the mood for.

I don't have a series suggestion, but maybe you could do a video about reading different fantasy standalones
I'm an engineer and you'd be surprised how many companies are looking for them to fill really any role, technical or not! People just want employees that have critical thinking skills which you're learning lots of :)
I love k-pop too! My favorite groups are Nmixx, New Jeans, Itzy, and some songs by Ateez. :)
17:22 personally very grateful for that decision😅. Also hope you're doing well after covid :)
The Kindle page turner is something what I really need in my lazy potato life. :P

I have a 2-year-old dilute calico and her name is Poppy as well! And what makes this interesting is that she has the same personality as yours, lol. 🤭
Omg you are a Reveluv❤️❤️❤️❤️
What order did you read the whole infernal devices world?? I think it might be my next massive read! 😮
How do you balance between school and reading? , considering your major requires alott of time and work.
What’s the link to those bookmarks from Etsy? The ones from Books Leo or something? They look so cool!
oops i totally forgot to link them, it's now in the description!!
I’m sending you love❤
Have you ever looked into reading: Adoring the Dark by Andrew Peterson?

Why are you doing engineering if you don’t like it. You should go into publishing if you love reading. Dont ever settle you’ll end up burnt out
Exaclty there are entry ways you just have to work your way up, the booktube channel might help but you have to be careful what you say
I'm the 100th comment!! ~~~~
Ive read the Seven Husbands of Evelyn hugo and i don't think you're missing out much, sure it was fine but in my opinion its overrated
