Very cool! Newcastle looks like an interesting town with a great history to it. So often we just see London or landscapes, but nice to see a little grit and history.
8:26 Just curious, why didn't you take multiple single shots and merge them into a panorama in either LR or PS instead? Works most of the time for me when I don’t carry a wide angle lens. Never needed a tripod for this either. Great video and love these bridges!
It's a lovely place, great people and great shots! Never knew that building beside the bridge was a museum, really need to check that out. I had my first outing with the XT-4 there last week whilst up there for work. We took pretty much identical shots at 1:05, albeit at night. The spot at 3:06 is a really pretty place at night too when all the chairs are lit. Back again Monday, might have to hit a few of these spots myself!
We have some interesting and very different bridges in Switzerland: Kappelbrücke - Luzern Landwasser viaduct Salginatobelbrücke Sunniberbrücke Ponte dei Salti - Ticino
I've studied 3 years over at Newcastle and your video just got me goosebumps and brought back so many memories of taking these iconic bridges. Hope you had a great journey over there mate 🙌🏼
Yeah, there’s so many bridges and all of different styles as well which is fantastic! Didn’t have the daylight/time to get up there on this occasion, but will try next time we’re up there.
I spent my year abroad in Newcastle and enjoyed these views in all seasons! I recommend you visit the Landwasser Viaduct in Filisur, Switzerland for your bridge series
Stockton on tees has some great bridges, the transporter bridge the infinity bridge look great at night too, great video, you hold have stayed until it was dark Newcastle is great at night to shoot in
I stayed at the Jurys Inn (next to Millennium Bridge) for a few weeks last year. I've never walked so many steps so often after a days work as I did there. Brilliant place to wind down with a camera every evening.
Great video Joe, Newcastle is full of great photo opportunities. The bridges here are amazing but I think my favourite has to be that Forth Rail Bridge up in Scotland.
I’m a big Brunel fan, so his Bridges’s in the UK are my favorites. But, I could walk once, and take pictures in his ( and his father’s) rotherhide tunnel in London.
Hello Joe hello Elly, love bridges, Tower bridge, Blackfriers bridge, but this was a real eye opener, great video, enjoying your images, love the music, and really made my evening, all the best guys, and thanks for the time you put in to make this.
Hi Joe, found you as I am a fan of Thomas Hsaton, landscape is my first love, but street is also good. Born and raised in Melbourne, now retired in a small country town in NE Victoria. L ooking forward to your work. Cheers.
Great video Joe! If you ever make the trip back up to Scotland, any of the three Forth Bridges are great, but don't forget about the Tay Rail Bridge, which connects the city of Dundee with the southern half of Scotland. There's all sorts of nice architecture there if you ever make the trip!
Seven Mile Bridge, Florida Keys /+/ Pooh Bidge, Hartfield, E. Sussex (I think you missed it when you were down here in 2019) /+/ Arc and Tradeston bridges, Glasgow /+/ Swilcan Bridge, St. Andrews (GOLF COURSE!) /+/ Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glenfinnan, Scotland (from Harry Potter films) - take your pick.
Golden Gate Bridge is pretty awesome close up when sailing underneath. The 25 De Arbil bridge in Lisbon is pretty epic too same colour but looks more like the Bay Bridge
Joe - if a trip to Australia is on your bucket list you must put a Harbour Bridge climb on your itinerary. Unfortunately no cameras allowed but a spectacular view from the top - and surprisingly a easy climb.
Ha'penny Bridge here in Dublin is my favourite. A pedestrian Bridge spanning the River Liffey. It got it's name from a toll charge to cross it for 1/2 penny back in the 1800's. A great bridge to photograph 📸.
Nice hanging out as always. What are your thoughts on the 16-80mm lens now that you’ve used it a while? Im tempted to get me one but since i have a 18-55mm lens I wonder if its worth it really! 📸
Cheers! The 16-80mm has become a great lens for me with photography, although I'm still not much of a fan of it for video given the severe effect of focus as you zoom in. Compared to the 18-55mm the extra width and length is actually quite noticeable, along with the better weather sealing to keep dust out. Not sure it's worth the price on its own, but if you upgrade camera and get it in a kit bundle, I'd say it's worth it. I should probably make a video about it, as so many people ask haha!
I'm from Newcastle and nice to see, you should of been on new years eve for the lasers we had from the bridges, they lit the whole sky up it was great, if you're still here check out the spire Bridge in Sunderland and infinity Bridge in Middlesbrough too, my favourite is the forth Bridge in Scotland, I seen it September gone
Thought bridge in thumbnail looked familiar, I work just down by the Swing Bridge. Missed a good vantage point looking down river from the High Level bridge (next bridge upstream from Swing Bridge , tall brick arches) or perhaps even from top of castle. Weirdly interesting watching someone else explore an area your kinda already familiar with. Good job you visited out of Gull season - wouldn’t have fancied standing under Tyne Bridge tower & lingering for a photo
Have a nice train bridge near were I live (see my video here on YT). Great with autumn colors. And the several bridges in Amsterdam are classics. And don't even mention Golden Gate or Brooklyn
In cam pano can be a challenge. Ever try LR pano w/raw file combinations? Re arch bridge clone, yes Hellgate Bridge in NYC over East River, handles rail traffic, got it’s name because of dangerous river currents (ships sunk) - bit of trivia. Cheers!
o m g, joe that is one of my fav childhood games lol. and ty for saying that bc it would have driven me bonkers trying to think what it reminded me of! 😂💯💙 love these videos pls keep it going through 2022. c:
Seems it's resonated with a couple of people early on already, ha! Any strong red brick building makes me think of Red Alert to be honest - so many hours spent playing it growing up!
Oh yes, a beautiful bridge and I love that it still has the wooden boardwalk! I actually made a vlog from 2018 that includes the bridge and DUMBO area, which is fun to look back on: th-cam.com/video/x_9wl2N18oc/w-d-xo.html
I remember this vlog. I proposed to my wife on the Brooklyn side look between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge. Fun fact I was about to propose on the bridge but when I saw the gap between the wooden boardwalk I and the water below. I chickened out. I have a picture of that moment
Less spectacular than the "famous" ones - try the bridge at Pooley Bridge in the Lake District. The original was swept away by Storm Desmond and left the town cut off. The new one is lovely.
Very cool chill vibes video. Come to my hood to check out the QEII aka Dartford bridge, it’s pretty impressive just shame you can’t walk it 🤷🏼♂️I also always drive never get driven and would love to photograph from the car whilst crossing it one day
Very cool! Newcastle looks like an interesting town with a great history to it. So often we just see London or landscapes, but nice to see a little grit and history.
Studied in Durham but visited Newcastle every week! Lots of memory. Thank you so much Joe, reminds me of those happy days. Greeting from Beijing!

Just came to say this, I've been very surprised with how good Lightroom is with handheld panos.
Yup, I gave handheld panos a try recently and it's game changing. Almost too easy when using a body with IBIS.
I grew up near Newcastle and it's always great to see a familiar city through someone else's eyes. Great photos!

Good to see you in the local area Joe! The high level bridge is a fave on the Tyne.
Yeah, there’s so many bridges and all of different styles as well which is fantastic! Didn’t have the daylight/time to get up there on this occasion, but will try next time we’re up there.
Beautiful photos!

Ah yeah, I can imagine the riverside after work is a great place to destress
Great video Joe, Newcastle is full of great photo opportunities. The bridges here are amazing but I think my favourite has to be that Forth Rail Bridge up in Scotland.
Always beautiful work.
Awesome video! Was all this vlog and shoot with the 16-80 mm? I looks nice in the vlog part but, would you recommend it?

I studied there for 4 year at Newcastle Uni and had a flat on the river .. best city in the UK for students

Enjoyed the video Joe thank you, lovely to see someone capturing my part of the world 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! Newcastle is firmly pinned on our map for many return visits ✌️

@@joeallam you should definitely! Thanks for the advice ;) also a review/ thoughts on the Xt4 im sure would please us all
Another absolutely great video - so nice you have London to walk through on your photowalks - poor me, I only have Manhattan😎
Would love to visit the UK soon again and shoot some TH-cam video’s and Photo’s! Newcastle looks great. Love the video! Cheers from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Cheers! Newcastle's a fun little place and definitely has a creative edge similar to places like Bristol, Manchester and even Rotterdam
@@joeallam sounds great!
@@joeallam speaking of Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. There are couple of beautiful bridges there. The Erasmusbridge and “de Hef”
Rainbowbridge in Tokyo- crossed that on foot after sunset! Great experience !
Come and visit Ironbridge
Another fun video, nice picts of the Millennium Bridge, enjoy and be safe...
Thank you! It's an impressive bridge with a genius design. Just wish the cables stood out more haha
Nice bridge, local(ish) to me - Peace Bridge, Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Youll know why it has two names when you visit 😀
25 de Abril bridge in Lisbon, looks very similar to the Golden Gat Bridge in SF 👍🏼
Being a Memphis native the Memphis Bridge is pretty cool. Especially at sunset when it's all lit up.
I remember this bridge from the movie "Goal! The Dream Begins", the majority which is set in Newcastle. ⚽🙂
Should have checked out the northern spire bridge aswell, if you like fancy bridges 👍

Joe's Bridges of the World... Now there's a series and book...👍
I’ve got so many series on the go, I don’t know if any will get finished haha
@@joeallam 😂😂 good luck.
How about canal bridges? You have them in the uk quite a few.. and locks and stuff. Maybe visit them sometime?
Really love Sydney Harbour bridge
o m g, joe that is one of my fav childhood games lol. and ty for saying that bc it would have driven me bonkers trying to think what it reminded me of! 😂💯💙 love these videos pls keep it going through 2022. c:

Hi from Oz. The Coat Hanger (sorry - Sydney Harbour bridge) has a little bro!
Not forgetting Ironbridge in Shropshire…
Ooh yes, a great bridge too!
The Ypsilon brigde in Drammen, Norway.
Capilano Suspension Bridge, Vancover
Elly is so cute! And this video is great stuff!
My favourite so far is Brooklyn bridge.
Oh yes, a beautiful bridge and I love that it still has the wooden boardwalk! I actually made a vlog from 2018 that includes the bridge and DUMBO area, which is fun to look back on: th-cam.com/video/x_9wl2N18oc/w-d-xo.html

It cannot be that cold in Newcastle lol
Charles Bridge in Prague. And great, cheap beer.
If Tanya gets her hands on that power station those Tesla coils will be useless. Red Alert, many an hour spent playing that.
LET'S ROCK! 🤓 So many soundbites stuck in my head over the years...
You had me at Red Alert...
Very cool chill vibes video. Come to my hood to check out the QEII aka Dartford bridge, it’s pretty impressive just shame you can’t walk it 🤷🏼♂️I also always drive never get driven and would love to photograph from the car whilst crossing it one day
Oh yeah, I've driven that a couple of times and thought it was pretty impressive! Likewise, never been a passenger for the trip haha!
Your in my town
I like Jeff Bridges *SCNR* 😬
Haha! Not sure how I'd track down that bridge...
Love the red alert comment.
You don't neccerally need a tripod for the pano. And the pano feature in the Fuji is pretty useless. My phone is way better for this.
Sydney Harbour Bridge is way Better !
