(spoilers for the end of the game for those still watching) Not making this up: I remember if you take too long at the final puzzle, Nancy actually can suffocate inside of the tomb and a wild News Article pops up showing her mummified corpse next to the mummy with the headline "TWO MUMMIES?!" Implying that her dead body and the mummy were both eventually discovered in the future. One of the most insane deaths in the series!
@@moose2 Arglefumph (TH-cam's resident Nance expert) has an "all deaths" video on his channel so you can see all the fun ways Nance can die in this game (this game actually probably has the one of the lowest amounts of death/game over scenes).
This Nancy Drew game has to be the most realistic scenario of them all and because of that, its probably the most boring. I like the setting though! The museum is the perfect setting for Nancy Drew and there were some secrets here and there, but the game played like a life simulator because we were actually working like an intern at a museum and then some! The music was still great and I kinda like Henrik, but yeah I think I liked the last Nancy Drew game a lot more.
Did you ever figure out that you can use the headphones to click on the museum plaques that have a headphones symbol to actually hear the narration and get extra info?
got to love how through out the game the hints were vague and sometimes just unclear, then we hit the point where the hardy boys have nothing for us, until the last puzzle where the hint is put the calendar rings in the monolith and turn them to the date of pacal's ascension.
Stuck around to mess with BrutalMoose and chat before I had watched all of the vods so now time to watch those before rewatching the finale. Also looking into deciphering the secrets of the "secret menu"

Yeah totally one of the more meh ones you’ve played so far, I like the crazy characters and less reading for the streams but of course watching moose play made it super enjoyable!!! Can’t wait for the next one
Great playthrough, Ian. I believe the Nancy drew community would collectively say this game is one of the worst in the series. I hope this one doesn’t deter you from continuing. The best is yet to come.
I wouldn't say it's one of the worst. But it's definitely the one that by far has the most reading. Like Shadow Ranch gets a little ready, but absolutely nothing tops Scarlet Hand's levels of reading: Scarlet Hand forces you to learn Morse Code and Mayan Calendar symbols. The thing I remember always liking about it is the setting, the actual crime, the amnesiac patient storyline, the fact that Nancy can horrifically die by suffocating in the tomb at the end. It's still got that "Old Nance" dark eerieness to it that all the games before Old Clock have. And for that, I still consider it one of the classics. But that being said: of the "oldschool nance" games (which I would say are really all the ones prior to Old Clock since Old Clock introduces the sort of mini-game grinding for currency systems that start getting reused with every game after), it's definitely not for the faint of heart, I could kind of tell before Ian got into this one that this would probably be one of the roughest ones for him to beat because the reading and museum activities are so actually weirdly intense. There's just so much reading in this one, the most reading in the series. lol
@@IWillBeHers I notice fans really hate Kapu Cave. I remember only not liking the Metal Gear stealth section with the among us hazmat guys. I remember as a kid my mom would like, ask for me to grind for money by gathering sea shells or do the fishing minigame and like, I was all for it. No idea if it'd still be fun now though. lol

As someone who did watch the vod on Thanksgiving, Ian and chat acknowledging that fact made me feel seen in a way I did not enjoy lol

It's leagues better than games like Shattered Medallion, Kapu Cave, and Ransom of the Seven Ships.
