Fun fact about the PC version the teachers don't just teleport once you leave them rather they walk into a "secret passage" it's really just a closet that hides the model but it gives the appearance of them not just teleporting to the next spot to anyone who runs back.

OST was amazeballs. I just wished there were some more secrets cuz when you're running around avoiding fire crabs later in the game, its not quite as fun exploration wise. Exploring the castle was my favorite thing but once I got to year 2 and 3....it was pretty meh.....

back when my memory card for gamecube didnt have 16 free slots for a paper mario save, so I played the first 5-6 hours for like a month before I knew what was going on lol
*laughs* kinda did the same thing but also i didnt know my little bro had scratched up my disc, so I kept hoping that crashing was happening because I had gone through it too slowly (most was allowed play before hp 1 was candyland and jumpstart on pc so yes I really did think that was a hidden mechanic to the game...)

Oh man! The gameboy version is incredible! I've been grinding behind gringots fighting rats to make Harry OP and buy all the high teir equipment on my first visit to Diagon Alley :D also the use of Bully music is why this channel is a class act :)
Oh that brings back memories. Grinding the rats because the rat boss was too hard. And after finishinf the game coming back with a full spell repertoire and showing this rodent what for and stomping its knee caps with op spells. Good times
over grinding in the GBC game was so fun, make sure to be 10-20 levels beyond what most people were. Playing on emu was great cuz you can cheat and go back if the outcome wasn't good enough.
it is my favorite HP game. its actually insane how similar it feels to the new hogwarts game. the equipment, the spells and leveling, even the school aspect and potion brewing feels very much like this game.

PC version Harry Potter 1 was the best game. Open castle to explore, classes to attend, etc. I played that game so much. The gameboy ones were also really good. The GBC was more of an rpg and then Gameboy advance action game. Loved them all

Man, I have fond memories of playing the Finnish dub. It's an atrocity, but an extremely funny one with crazy cartoonish overacting. Combined with the goofy graphics it's just absolute gold. I reinstalled it recently and ended up playing all the way through, it may be the most I've ever laughed at a video game.

it's just because different studios were contracted out, too much work to micromanage 6+ ports. lots of video games are made this way and not just licensed games.

It's got an almost eerie atmosphere when you're in the spell challenges, navigating linear maps and puzzles with no hints of the outside world. I always thought it was weird that the rest of the class just sits around while Harry dicks around in the challenge for god knows how long.
The Japanese version, especially the title screen makes it look like we're about to enjoy watching you play some super weird ass horror game filled with deformed eldritch horrors.........which actually....that checks out...🤔😱

However she went with WarnerBros due to them being able to do movies and games and a lot more.
The gameboy rpg port was fucking awesome. It acctualy gets very complex in the endgame and as a kid it introduced me to FF type of tbc. Still one of my favorite hidden gems out there.
I remember having such difficulty trying to get past Percy too. I rented the game so I didn't have a lot of time to play it and that part alone took so much time.

I always loved the first 3 HP games. They are really different from each other which was awesome. I only ever played the GBA, PC, and Playstation (1 & 2)versions. PC was the first and the most nostalgic. The PS1 versions were creepy because of lack of ambient music
I find it funny that the JP version actually says Flippendo Jinx since unless it was just the version I played, the PS1 version normally calls it the Knockback Jinx and it's the most tame "Flippendo" call Harry makes.
GB Harry Potter was a staple in my childhood. It was good to get a hit of nastalgia watching you play it. I'd definitely recommend playing through it completely some time!

You know, I never did consider Harry Potter to be a holiday movie/game, but the GBC port really did bring a peculiar festivity to it!
I think a bit of it might also be because the composer made the Home Alone music too. It kind of has a very similar vibe.

I find it funny that the JP version actually says Flippendo Jinx since unless it was just the version I played, the PS1 version normally calls it the Knockback Jinx and it's the most tame "Flippendo" call Harry makes.
GB Harry Potter was a staple in my childhood. It was good to get a hit of nastalgia watching you play it. I'd definitely recommend playing through it completely some time!
