    Top tip: hot glue works really good at insulating the electrical connections. I make one that is adjustable from 0-500 ohms, on both the signal and the heater circuit. Why do you need a capacitor?

  • @conormcgregor5460
    @conormcgregor5460 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Hey this does work on that truck using the resistor and capacitor you were using. But you need to know that the capicitor has a directional polarity. It needs to be connected with the leads going in a certain direction my friend.
    side of the capicitor with the black band is the negative side and current can only go from positive to negative through the capicitor so the side with the black band needs to connect to the resistor and the positive side of the capicitor needs to connect to the black wire.

      Not exactly a capacotor swot hes the ditections of the current at contanuity from begging up to capacitance fown to zero cap then the polarity switches to do it again the other direction until it teaches capacitance to reverse again so you may wamt to rethi k your lack of knowledge on how electricle coponents work

    It did work the heater circuit is a bad o2 or broken wire you gotta start with a good o2 your mod only accounts for the exhaust signal the ecm reads (no cat fix) but not a sensor defect

    No need to use the Capacitor,
    just use the two, 1 ohm Resistor 1/4 watt

      Can you explain this?

  • @newfieledman9164

    You don't even need to plug it back into your 02 sensor as long as you use 2 of
    1 Ohm 1/4 watt resistors I have 4 wires on mine 2 white wires and 1 Grey and 1 Black wire,
    I put 1 resistor between the 2 White Wires and then put the other Resistor between the Grey and Black wire then heat Shrink those the Black and Grey with the resistor on it, and did the same to the other 2 white wires, No-more Check Engine light all you needs left to do is just plug it right into the o2 sensor main Harness. then you're done. I cut off the Connectors from the 02 oxygen sensors. ( Note: that the sensors are still bolted on the pipe ).
    I have noticed a big difference in my Horsepower before it was sluggish before but now what a difference.

  • @SwapPartLLC

    I know this is old, but if you are getting a code for the heater, you either have a bad heater in the 02 sensor or a bad wire going from the 02 sensor to the computer. The mod you did doesn't do anything to the 02 heater circuit, and it still requires that to work. I did this on my truck last year and it does work.

    • @izzzzzz6
      @izzzzzz6 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you fitted an adjustable voltage supply, you should be able to simulate the different readings the o2 sensor usually makes by making it's own voltage by changing your variable supply in place of the sensor wires (not the heating ones) You should be able to adjust the fuel richness at least. Or, just change the sensor or check the sensor's heater fuse didn't blow.

      You have a vacuum leak. Smoke leak tester is the best way to find it, but who owns one? You can try propane, and it's way safer than spraying carb cleaner around a hot running engine. The rich condition is a response to lean feedback, or unmetered air in your A/F mixture. Good luck.

    O2 heater malfunciton means your O2 sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. Nothing to do with exhaust gasses.

    Yeah, the anti-Fowlers don’t work you’re lucky if you get two days out of it or a week but exactly 10 to 12,000 miles the light will come back on same code. You’ll have to deal with the issue you’ll have to fix it all it does is pull the O2 sensor away from the cat so it can read cleaner air. Yeah that was a total waste of time and money. It’s basically just to get you through emissions that’s all that’s all that’s for buying some time.

  • @christopheraugustine5816
    @christopheraugustine5816 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    What you made is not an O2 simulator, it is a signal retarder. It smooths the signal, but the sensor is still required. A true simulator does not require you to have the second O2 sensors at all. You may want to correct the title of your video.

    Not a whole lot you can do about the heater, that’s just because hotter gas is flowing through the exhaust and the sensor is picking up the hotter gas.

    The resister goes on the black wire. The capacitor goes after the resister towards the plug between the gray and the black wire. The Resister has to be 1mOhm and the capacitor 4.7
    Also the it’s best to use a new O2 sensor.

      Austin Koceja it looks like what you did didn't completely fail. I don't know much about this, I just started doing some research like you. I think the reason why you are still getting a code is because the O2 heater sensor (the two white wires) is not reading the right temperature. The post cast sensor should be reading hotter than the pre cat sensor since the exhaust gasses are heated as they pass through cat. Since you don't have a cat I think you need to trick the computer on the heater side of the O2 sensors as well. Maybe try doing what this guy did. th-cam.com/video/H6mX4efePx8/w-d-xo.html
      I don't know if it will work or not I'm just speculating. But if it does please let me know.

    What's up cheaters, yeah I said it. 😮 So, it's, MHO that his mod worked, because the codes that didn't return are specifically for the O2 sensing circuits. There are four wires, or two circuits in his case. The other circuit is for the heater--the sensor will not report true readings until both it and the catalytic converters are hot, really hot!! The returning code only refers to the heater, not the sensor circuit, and I believe that the ECU doesn't require a drive cycle to report the heater issue. However, to be clear, he didn't complete a true drive cycle yet, and the ECU will not report until that is completed, so honestly I can't rightfully claim that the mod worked...but someone else reported that it did work.
    I believe that a simple cat delete would get good results with this mod. Unfortunately, I think if your vehicle has bad cats, and you are attempting to bypass them, then you will have negative results. It's my contention that whatever issue clogged up, burned out, or contaminated your cats will negate the otherwise positive outcome. 😢
    The reality is that this mod is on the post-cat O2 sensor, and it's feedback is monitored by the ECU ( which is mandated by the EPA), and their way of overcoming cheat codes is to periodically have the ECU alter the Air/fuel ratio and it should see O2 sensor feedback that also varies...however, the added resistor/capacitor circuit can only create a steady response. The ECU sees this and throws a code--yup, your busted. Now, this isn't on all vehicles. To me it's a cheap and easy mod, so give it a try. 👍 Good luck...cheaters. 😅
