It's about a boy who had a birthday coming up, so his mother made him cupcakes. But then the boy left home, and went off to live in a village with the animals. So sadly, the cupcakes the mother made never got eaten. Instead, they got stale. But his mother still writes him everyday.

The mayor has been gone for months now. Half the town has already left, including the shopkeepers. They're all off to another life now. I couldn't bring myself to leave yet. We've put so much into this town, and I can't just try to escape like it's nothing. However, today's the day. Daisy, Soleil, and I depart. The smallest moments were the most emotional. Seeing all the empty houses, the wilting trees, and the Tree being at its apex in height. I couldn't help but be brought to tears, taking one last glance at this village I've come to love. This makes me so sad. I deleted my old town because I despised it. I would visit other towns and see how creative and beautiful they were. Then I'd come home, and see the one that I would never be happy with. Isabelle's words when you ask to delete your town- I can't quite remember them, but at the time I hadn't paid much mind. I just needed a clean slate. But as I thought more and more about them, I grew so saddened. I wish I never deleted the town that taught me so much... I know they're just NPC's, but you grow so attached to the animals who live in the town you run.
This makes me think of the villager's mom. She's hoping we're doing okay in our new village. She writes to us all the time, bringing up old memories of when we were younger because she will never forget the little things about us. Sadly, you know we don't write back. So our mom is just hoping were doing okay. With all her love, she wishes you were still there with her. But we've grown up now, and she knows we gotta live our lives now on our own. She loves us so much.
Tbh the animal crossing mom is way better then my actual mom, animal crossing mom somehow feels more like a mom then my my mom does. Its kinda comforting knowing that even if my mom doesnt talk to me i at least have the animal crossing who goes out of her way 2 mail letters even without responce.

I'm so sorry for posting this, but I just had this lingering feeling about something. I never really had any friends in school that much. They all looked at me strangely. Like I was a disease. But one day, I met a young girl online called Heidi. We skyped, laughed, and had so much fun together. We had a mutual interest in this game, Animal Crossing. She planned to get City Folk for her birthday, but I just wanted to keep my copy of Wild World. Since it was her birthday soon, actually a day away, I decided to do something nice for her. I had found out that there bakers store close by, and Heidi had the same store near her. So, I decided to order a batch of cupcakes for Heidi, that same night. The lady said it was nice of me to do that, and I agreed with her. Before I went to sleep that night, I couldn't stop thinking about how happy Heidi would be when she found those cupcakes on her door. But it wasn't that easy. Today was her birthday, yet for some reason she hadn't been online skype at all. On my birthday, she never stopped calling me! But she might have been out, so I just shrugged it off. That afternoon, possibly around five, I received a call. It was from Heidi. I clicked instantly, wishing her a happy birthday - but I was interrupted by a low voice. It was Heidi's father. They told me things that Heidi said about me to them, saying that I was an amazing, funny girl who always made her have fun even in her darkest moments. And they truly thanked me for that. Little did I know that Heidi had been diagnosed with leukaemia a few months back, and had been instructed to never leave the house since - not even for school. She finally gave in to her disease, and died at 4:21 last night. I couldn't believe it. After all this time, she had been fighting cancer - and had never told me. I felt so sick that I could cry. But after she died, at possibly seven, the cupcakes were delivered. Her father read the label out loud to me, and I couldn't stop crying. I still remember exactly what it said. 'To the best friend ever in the whole wide world, I hope you have a really, really nice birthday today, and many other days to come! I hope you like these, I picked them out for you! Strawberry and Chocolate - your favourites! Sorry if I got them wrong! I'll see you soon, okay? Have a nice day!' I couldn't help sobbing. I was blind this whole time, I had finally had a friend...yet I was so excited that I didn't even realise that she was dying. If I could turn back time just to see her face so happy again, I'd die just to do it. Life isn't fair. It takes the people you love away from you when you think you'll have them forever. Life hurts you. Life cuts you. Life stings you. It's only a matter of time until life will take us all away.

So, your best friend's birthday is finally here. You've been friends ever since you moved into her neighborhood as kids. She was the first person to be nice to the new kid on the block, and she doesn't know it, but you've always had a crush on her. This is the day you'll finally tell her. You wake up, excited. What a brave and glorious day! Using your own recipe, you bake a dozen delicious cupcakes. They are all for her, and your little sister even gets mad when you tell her she can't have any. Finally, after putting the last touch on your icing message, your heartfelt creation is complete. Electricity flowing through your spine, you march down the street to her house, only to find a few cop cars and an ambulance blocking the driveway. Confused, you ask a bystander what is going on. They tell you about the poor girl that overdosed on heroin the night before. Another bystander overhears and adds that "yeah I heard one of the officers say it was apparently her first time. And right before her birthday too. It's simply tragic. My heart goes out to the family. Did you know her?" Broken and shocked, you run home and call her. She doesn't answer her cell. You call her house, no answer. Just before you call her mother, her mother calls you. Her news hits you like a ton of bricks. An ex of hers came to her house the previous night to make amends and to wish her a happy birthday. He's in a body bag too. This wasn't supposed to happen. She doesn't do drugs. There has to have been some sort of mistake. If only you could give her one last message. Her funeral arrives. You brought her cupcakes. Everyone shoots you these passing glances that make you absolutely sick. They know how close you were. But they don't understand. They didn't know her like you did. You understood her. They won't say anything to you, and you don't know if you want them to or not. You arrive at the open casket. Your composure melts away as you thrust the now-stale cupcakes onto the casket. Christopher Tracey Morbid and semi-anticlimatic plot twist: The girl was indeed not the type to overdose. Quite frankly, when you think about it, she was the only person to taste the cupcakes; even sharing a piece with her ex, since she was so affectionate about them.
Even though New Leaf was released only last year, I get a very nostalgic feel from the game. It was my first Animal Crossing game. I seem to remember many Summer nights my long distance girlfriend and I would visit each other's towns and lie in a bed together with this song playing in the background. I guess it was comforting that we could at least be together like that.
Deku I played the Wild World one first, and moved on to City Folk to New Leaf and honestly the games had become so good the quality gets better as you go from game to game. Like New Leaf to Happy Home Designer to Pocket Camp.

You remember all the fun times you had at the party with your friends, laughing and not having a care in the world. But that was then. This is now. I need to cry every once in a while, and it relieves so much from me. I press play and find some of the saddest stories in the comments. Animal Crossing has its own memories, and the memories it created along the way with whoever you've met during that time, can trigger strong emotions. It makes me long for the friends I have, or the future I have, and to revive my spirit. All of that is accomplished through just crying, as silly as it may seem. A song is powerful, all it has to do is play, and your mind spins.
I get anxious when lsitening to this song because it feels like it would play during the end of something important, just moments after it ends, the end of that thing occurs
Here's a happier story... this is about a kid who had so much fun with his friends at the best birthday sleepover party ever. They ate lots of cake, junk food, and cupcakes, watched lots of cartoons, and eventually got so tired that they just fell asleep, the uneaten cupcakes ended up going stale because the mom made so many cupcakes for all his friends, this song plays when they fall asleep happily after a long fun-filled day. The kids fall asleep, and there's streamers, confetti, and lots of stale cupcakes lying around, and the mom comes to tuck them in and say goodnight. :]

This reminds me of when Middle school ended (Im on summer brake now.. Waiting for high school) I would always look at the stars when it got late since it provided me with a sense of company. My rabbit past away two months ago and now I always look at the stars since I figure thats where her soul would be. Since middle school ended, I also ended a few friendships. Which was for the best but now I only have maybe 2 friends at this point. Then they move. ANd I'm just sitting here waiting for someone to make me feel like I'm not so alone when I am.. And theer isn't any stopping this feeling..
This makes me think about my cousin, Zara. Zara was an amazing friend to me and I'd always beg to visit her and play with her. She made me happy and I still cry about it when I think about her death. She was such a fun friend, but one day she was walking with another person she met and was going to a park without an adult and got hit by a car. Sadly, the car killed her and she didn't survive. I was heartbroken after this event, my heart had been shattered into a million pieces. I listened to her favorite songs, but mostly "Stitches". Every time I hear about that event, or hear that song I end up crying. It was hard but I got to move on. I will never forget Zara. Rest in peace my beloved friend

So, when I was little, my mom came home with City Folk, my first ever animal crossing game. In our town we had Tangy, Tom, Olivia, Rosie, Jay, Puck, Bettina, Bud, and Bob. My mom lived by Tom, and he soon became her favorite. My brother by Olivia, and me by Bob. To me, Bob was the perfect villager. He was purple, my favorite colour, and a cat, my favorite animal. And to top it off, he shared a name with my cat that I have had since I was only 3. i thought the cranky and snooty villagers were mean, which they kind of were. And the sporty and peppy villagers were just annoying. The normals were boring. But the lazy ones, they were perfect. They have always been so sweet and happy, the kind of friend you want so badly when you're little. Bob soon became my best friend and favorite animal crossing villager ever. My brother had recently discovered the time skipping ability. None of us knew how it worked. He fast forwarded two weeks into the future. The next morning when I logged on, I had a letter in the mail from Bob. He was gone. Bob, my best friend in the game, and real life, had left me forever. I was heartbroken. I refused to play the game for a full week. I would sit in my room, lost in my thoughts. It might have seemed like not a big deal, but I had a very hard time making friends when I was little. So I had just lost my only friend. My parents finally convinced me to play again. My mom's favorite villager, Tom, asked if he should move. I was angry, so I said yes. My brother's favorite, Olivia, asked to move the next day. I told her to go. My family was mad at me, but I didn't care. After a few years of not playing animal crossing, I decided to play new leaf. i played that game for years. I met my second favorite villager, Julian, and that almost made me forget about Bob. But I never did. He was still my favorite. But, no matter how long I spent on new leaf, I never found Bob. Other people were posting pictures with him on Reddit. It made me feel so sad that I couldn't have him. My mom found Tom, and he moved in to her town. Eventually, New horizons came out. I still love Bob, but I accepted that I would never see him again. Just a few days ago, I found Bob in my campsite. I was so happy. I spent 45 minutes playing games to convince him to move in. and he did. After so many long years, I finally have Bob, one of my best friends, in my town again. And I also have Julian, the unicorn that gave me back my love for animal crossing.

this track doesn't really make me sad; it does the opposite for me, actually... it reminds me of when AC:NL was still a new thing, when i used to listen to this a lot in the summer of 2013, and it brings back a lot of happy memories from that time. makes me smile - it gives me more lullaby vibes than, like, some kind of dirge.

This song is so beautiful. It's my favorite song from Animal Crossing. I personally found it before I even knew what Animal Crossing was and it almost moved me to tears. It makes me feel very sentimental and a bittersweet kind of sadness. I can't put into words how much I love this song.
You open your front door, and wince at the early morning sun. Your hair is messy and unkempt, and has been so for quite some time. The last time you woke up felt like a long lost dream. The letterbox to your right is overflowing with papers; the dates slowing to a halt at Agust third. You look around. It's summer. Something pings on your heart as you gaze across the path leading to your home, now partially overgrown by weeds and dandelions. It tuggs you out into the world, and though your legs ache, the worry in your mind is much too pressing. Feet stumble past rows of perfect fruit trees and hot springs and ladders of wisteria, all tangled in a mess of uncut grass and an air of loneliness. Eventually, you reach a tree. Not just any tree, the oak one you planted on the day of you becoming mayor. It's almost double the size of what you remembered, with a big, thick trunk and wide emerald leaves. You carry on; past re-tail, windows worryingly dimmed. Past patches of dirt that are all identical in size. Past that spot where you distinctly remember Isabelle falling into a pitfall trap. Everything was so familiar, so achingly memorable, yet so distant at the same time. Then, a building. A place you went to every day without fail. A place to check in and do your duties, have a chat with you goofball of a secretary and think about the day ahead. Your office. A firm press on the door sent it creaking inwards, a dormant layer of dust falling onto your head and making you cough. You step inside, the mustiness drowning your lungs. She wasn't there. The last hope you had, that one person you always relied on at the end of the day. She too was gone. You crumple to the floor, pain shooting through your knees. Tears formed, and fell from your eyes, leaving spots on your trousers. A rush of emptyness swept through you like a freight train. "How... How long was I gone..?"
I remember putting this on in the middle of the night and just bawling my eyes out. I’m unsure why I was actually crying, I just hold in my emotions and everything I was sad about that time just came pouring out.

i listened to this a lot when my grandmother got diagnosed with lung cancer back in 2013 and i was worried sick about her to the point where i couldn't sleep. luckily she is cancer free and doing very well these days, so now when i listen to this i think of how grateful i am for her to still be around. love you lots nana 💛
This makes me think of an odd story... A little girl was a lonely, but cheerful girl. She didn't really have decent parents, since they seemed to not care, but she was still happy. She loved cupcakes. She was obsessed with them. She was cheerful in her whole life until she growed up. She made it to the fifth grade, but she started to become more and more miserable. She was told by a bully to stop crying, so she did. And the tears growed into a ball. The ball growed cold and rotten. It growed into a subsatnce that looked like a stale cupcake. Nobody had ever tried to inform her about her future. She growed into college and wasn't really taking care of herself. In the weekend, she wrote a letter to her roommate saying to not be surprised about the dead body hanging from the ceiling. The little, cheerful, cupcake loving girl has killed herself.
Reminds me of a friend who got cancelled on the internet and disappeared without a trace, I'm still waiting, hoping for her to return soon. I miss her.

So I recently created a NL town with Rodeo as one of the starters. When I first met him outside, I was more than a little intimidated by those red eyes on black fur. -(Man that sounded racist.)- But nonetheless, I do like to see new villagers' houses when I get the chance, so I went in... And let's just say I was _not_ expecting an observatory-like setting with this perfectly-fitting music playing in the background. I think we're going to be good friends. :D (Just in case you were wondering, yes, I was aware of this song beforehand.)
+Dinoyipi Rodeo was my first favourite villager along with goldie. He stayed in my town along with her all this time, it makes me want to go back and pull out my weed-infested town and completely give them a happy life until they come to my new leaf village.
Animal Crossing: City Folk was the first game I ever got addicted to and I got it from my dad and my oldest brother on Easter the year after my brothers and I recieved a Wii for Christmas. Listening to the tracks just bring me back a lot. I wish the time could go back for even just an hour so that I could experience the feeling of coming home from school and being excited to play my Wii one more time. Smelling the dinner cooking in the kitchen, my dad getting back from work, it was all good.
I used to play acnl so much. I have owned 4 copies in 5 years alone, i used to play with my cousin osvaldo. He lived sort of far from me so we only saw eachother in acnl usually, i could go to him but i dont get much time anyways. He and i would do so much on my town called Astroland. Osvaldo helped me go through all of my tantrums and was the only one who could get me to calm down. We were like peanut butter and jam, we mix perfectly even though we are so different. He would help me find ore, upgrade my town, water/grow plants, remodel, share bells, and just talk sonetimes, but then one day he didnt awnser my texts or calls, i was worried so i went to meet him in person. And when i got there. I was told that he is being treated in the hospital for a disease i forgot the name of. He was sick and its hard to recover from it. I visited him as much as i could and helped him when he was in need, then one day he messaged me if i wanted to play acnl with him. I hadn't played for 3 weeks worrying about him. So i said sure and he and i did the most excruciating work to make my town lovely. Then we had a party in my house, and this song was playing because osvaldo and i always loved soothing music, then he told me something i will never forget. "Astro.... never abandon this town, promise me you will either keep or sell it to another child, you could get the next big animal crossing game as you wish, dont ever abandon what makes you happy, i need to tell you something" and he said "todays my last day" i was crying and he was to (as i predict) and he and i shared our final moments here. Then he left and i just fell asleep crying. The next few days i was too depressed to do anything. But eventually i got over it. I will never forget you osvaldo. You were my best friend and i will always remember what you did for me.

We all remember that first night staying up till 2AM playing animal crossing...my first AC game was the original on GameCube- to this day it is still one of my earliest memories. I must have been 4 or 5 years old....sitting there in my living room with the lights off. Only our comically large CRT TV illuminating the room. I'll always remember the good ol days.
this makes me sad for some reason, so I'll just tell a sad but true story. when I was about 7, my mom decided that I was responsible enough to get a dog. we got two dogs - the one I picked, a longhaired chihuahua mix named jenni, and the one my mom picked, a german shepherd named max. I didn't really like max at first; he was old, I was a little scared of big dogs, and we were worried that he would hurt my cat, ashli. but max proved to be very gentle; he wouldn't hurt a fly. he even became the best of friends with ashli and jenni, and it wasn't uncommon to see the 3 of them napping together. despite his old age, max loved to play with me in the backyard. one of his favorite games was keep away. after about a year, max's arthritis got too bad and he couldn't play anymore. I was a bit sad, especially because jenni wasn't fond of playing, but max became my best friend, and I learned to love him. in november 2017, my cat ashli went missing. I was very sad, but I was still grateful that I had max and jenni by my side. they were sad too, and I remember them looking around for her. in january of the next year, I got my cat gloria. she hated max and jenni. that saddened me, but I knew there wasn't much I could do. time skip to april 20 2020. max had watched me grow from the 7 year old I was to the 13 year old I am now; he saw so many milestones of mine - my graduation from elementary school, becoming a teenager. max suddenly stopped eating, and became distant. a few days later, on the 23rd, I came home from my other house. my mom was really worried, but I thought max would be fine. this had happened before. at around 8pm, my mom was in the living room with max. his time was up, he taught me all that he could. he just fell asleep for the last time. I was watching danganronpa crack when my mom came in my room and told me. one minute, I was laughing my ass off, the next, my entire world was crumbling. my best friend of 6 years was gone. I cried so hard that my face tingled and I almost passed out. my sister, my brother, and their dad came over to provide comfort to my mom and I, but I didn't want it. I just stayed in my room and cried uncontrolably. after around an hour, I went into the living room. I sat on the couch with my sister. she had her switch, and I had mine too, so we played acnh. I made a little memorial for max, near canberra's house, purrl's house, and the museum, my favorite places, so I could always remember the dog I grew up with. I only had my game for 3 weeks, so my island was pretty undeveloped, but the memorial has never changed. I know max is in a better place, but I still miss him so much.
My sister was a animal crossing player. J didn't play much but every time I did get on I always had a full mailbox of letters with presents. This song was playing in her house. I miss getting the letters. But at least I know shes in a better place... R.I.P. Ronnie Marie
This song reminds me of the morning my dog got put down. (last Monday.) She's been around all my life, and the morning they came to put her down, she looked so hurt. I loved her so much, she was my best friend. She looked so happy when someone new came, she tried to get up but since she had a big tumor she couldn't get up. Hearing the words "she's passed" was so heartbreaking for me. I didn't come out of my room for 4 days (except for food) I'm so sad and tired that she's gone. It's so empty without her. I'm crying as i'm writing this but i needed to get it off my chest.
this song, to me, is actually a very calming and happy one. I always imagine sitting outside on a warm, sunny day in a garden or a meadow, just enjoying the peace. sometimes it even reminds me of an empty bowl sitting next to an open window with sunlight letting its way in and a soft breeze blowing the curtains a bit. I usually like to accompany this song with the sounds of a soft breeze and birds. fall asleep to *that*. you'll have a good time.
I guess this is a good enough place to ramble. About two months ago, I lost my best friend, my dog Skye. She had cancer, we don’t really know. We put her to sleep at home, laying in my lap. She didn’t want to leave me. She didn’t pass until I told her I’d be okay. I don’t think she believed me, but I know she’s still lingering around me. Nighttime is always the hardest. I hate having to think about how much I miss her. I hate looking at the box with her ashes inside on my shelf. I wish she was still here. It’s hard, but I know I made the right decision. She was in pain, I wouldn’t keep her like that if I had the choice, which I did. We’d lost another dog not even a year before, either. I miss Daisy too, but she was my sister’s dog, not necessarily my dog. That’s not to say I didn’t love her, because I did, and I still do. Thanks to whoever decided to read this, I guess. This makes me think of some friends I had. They really hated me, and I was stressed at school, so my Mom moved me to a different one. I was devastated, and kind of an emotional wreck the beginning of this summer. I'd just start randomly crying, because I'd just suddenly think of them. I'd think of how they forgot my birthday, or how they never talked to me, or if they even missed me. I eventually got angry at one of them, because she sorta stole my other friend from me, and I just wanted to yell at her, and tell her I'd been reduced to talking to walls and videogame characters, and tell her how insane I felt during quarantine because she and my other friend didn't ever talk to me on Zoom or call or whatever, and yeah, I was talking to walls and getting angry over the littlest things. But eventually, I got over it, and was excited about going to a new school with my only real friend. But then my mom said we couldn't afford the tuition fee for the new school, so I have to go back to my old one. I'm absolutely terrified about going back to my friends. Well, I dunno what else to call them. And today, my Grandma died. I just wanna talk to my friends again, my only other friend is always busy. Today I just broke down and started blubbering nonsense about my siblings picking on me and my friends and my Grandma and I'm just so upset, dhehjsjbdb. Sorry. Anyways, on the slim chance my friends are reading this, I'd like to say: I miss you. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Oh man. That's a LONG comment, sorry! 😅

It's about a boy who had a birthday coming up, so his mother made him cupcakes. But then the boy left home, and went off to live in a village with the animals. So sadly, the cupcakes the mother made never got eaten. Instead, they got stale. But his mother still writes him everyday.

We've put so much into this town, and I can't just try to escape like it's nothing. However, today's the day. Daisy, Soleil, and I depart. The smallest moments were the most emotional. Seeing all the empty houses, the wilting trees, and the Tree being at its apex in height. I couldn't help but be brought to tears, taking one last glance at this village I've come to love. Mayor, why did you have to go?

This makes me so sad. I deleted my old town because I despised it. I would visit other towns and see how creative and beautiful they were. Then I'd come home, and see the one that I would never be happy with. Isabelle's words when you ask to delete your town- I can't quite remember them, but at the time I hadn't paid much mind. I just needed a clean slate. But as I thought more and more about them, I grew so saddened. I wish I never deleted the town that taught me so much... I know they're just NPC's, but you grow so attached to the animals who live in the town you run.

She writes to us all the time, bringing up old memories of when we were younger because she will never forget the little things about us. Sadly, you know we don't write back. So our mom is just hoping were doing okay. With all her love, she wishes you were still there with her. But we've grown up now, and she knows we gotta live our lives now on our own. She loves us so much.
Tbh the animal crossing mom is way better then my actual mom, animal crossing mom somehow feels more like a mom then my my mom does. Its kinda comforting knowing that even if my mom doesnt talk to me i at least have the animal crossing who goes out of her way 2 mail letters even without responce.

I'm so sorry for posting this, but I just had this lingering feeling about something.
I never really had any friends in school that much. They all looked at me strangely. Like I was a disease. But one day, I met a young girl online called Heidi.
We skyped, laughed, and had so much fun together. We had a mutual interest in this game, Animal Crossing. She planned to get City Folk for her birthday, but I just wanted to keep my copy of Wild World.
Since it was her birthday soon, actually a day away, I decided to do something nice for her. I had found out that there bakers store close by, and Heidi had the same store near her. So, I decided to order a batch of cupcakes for Heidi, that same night.
The lady said it was nice of me to do that, and I agreed with her. Before I went to sleep that night, I couldn't stop thinking about how happy Heidi would be when she found those cupcakes on her door.
But it wasn't that easy.
Today was her birthday, yet for some reason she hadn't been online skype at all. On my birthday, she never stopped calling me! But she might have been out, so I just shrugged it off.
That afternoon, possibly around five, I received a call. It was from Heidi. I clicked instantly, wishing her a happy birthday - but I was interrupted by a low voice. It was Heidi's father.
They told me things that Heidi said about me to them, saying that I was an amazing, funny girl who always made her have fun even in her darkest moments. And they truly thanked me for that.
Little did I know that Heidi had been diagnosed with leukaemia a few months back, and had been instructed to never leave the house since - not even for school.
She finally gave in to her disease, and died at 4:21 last night. I couldn't believe it. After all this time, she had been fighting cancer - and had never told me. I felt so sick that I could cry.
But after she died, at possibly seven, the cupcakes were delivered. Her father read the label out loud to me, and I couldn't stop crying.
I still remember exactly what it said.

I hope you have a really, really nice birthday today, and many other days to come!

An ex of hers came to her house the previous night to make amends and to wish her a happy birthday. He's in a body bag too. This wasn't supposed to happen. She doesn't do drugs. There has to have been some sort of mistake. If only you could give her one last message.
Her funeral arrives. You brought her cupcakes. Everyone shoots you these passing glances that make you absolutely sick. They know how close you were. But they don't understand. They didn't know her like you did. You understood her. They won't say anything to you, and you don't know if you want them to or not. You arrive at the open casket. Your composure melts away as you thrust the now-stale cupcakes onto the casket. Sobbing hysterically, and muffled by your hands, all you can say is "I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you..."

Even though New Leaf was released only last year, I get a very nostalgic feel from the game. It was my first Animal Crossing game. I seem to remember many Summer nights my long distance girlfriend and I would visit each other's towns and lie in a bed together with this song playing in the background. I need to cry every once in a while, and it relieves so much from me. I press play and find some of the saddest stories in the comments. Animal Crossing has its own memories, and the memories it created along the way with whoever you've met during that time, can trigger strong emotions. It makes me long for the friends I have, or the future I have, and to revive my spirit. All of that is accomplished through just crying, as silly as it may seem. A song is powerful, all it has to do is play, and your mind spins.

Here's a happier story... this is about a kid who had so much fun with his friends at the best birthday sleepover party ever. They ate lots of cake, junk food, and cupcakes, watched lots of cartoons, and eventually got so tired that they just fell asleep, the uneaten cupcakes ended up going stale because the mom made so many cupcakes for all his friends, this song plays when they fall asleep happily after a long fun-filled day. She was such a fun friend, but one day she was walking with another person she met and was going to a park without an adult and got hit by a car. Sadly, the car killed her and she didn't survive. I was heartbroken after this event, my heart had been shattered into a million pieces. I listened to her favorite songs, but mostly "Stitches". So, when I was little, my mom came home with City Folk, my first ever animal crossing game. In our town we had Tangy, Tom, Olivia, Rosie, Jay, Puck, Bettina, Bud, and Bob. My mom lived by Tom, and he soon became her favorite. My brother by Olivia, and me by Bob. To me, Bob was the perfect villager. He was purple, my favorite colour, and a cat, my favorite animal. And to top it off, he shared a name with my cat that I have had since I was only 3.
i thought the cranky and snooty villagers were mean, which they kind of were. And the sporty and peppy villagers were just annoying. The normals were boring. But the lazy ones, they were perfect. They have always been so sweet and happy, the kind of friend you want so badly when you're little. Bob soon became my best friend and favorite animal crossing villager ever. My brother had recently discovered the time skipping ability. None of us knew how it worked. He fast forwarded two weeks into the future. The next morning when I logged on, I had a letter in the mail from Bob. He was gone. Bob, my best friend in the game, and real life, had left me forever. I was heartbroken. I refused to play the game for a full week. I would sit in my room, lost in my thoughts. It might have seemed like not a big deal, but I had a very hard time making friends when I was little. So I had just lost my only friend.
My parents finally convinced me to play again. My mom's favorite villager, Tom, asked if he should move. I was angry, so I said yes. My brother's favorite, Olivia, asked to move the next day. I told her to go. My family was mad at me, but I didn't care. After a few years of not playing animal crossing, I decided to play new leaf. i played that game for years. I met my second favorite villager, Julian, and that almost made me forget about Bob. But I never did. He was still my favorite. But, no matter how long I spent on new leaf, I never found Bob. Other people were posting pictures with him on Reddit. It made me feel so sad that I couldn't have him. My mom found Tom, and he moved in to her town. Eventually, New horizons came out. I still love Bob, but I accepted that I would never see him again.
Just a few days ago, I found Bob in my campsite. I was so happy. I spent 45 minutes playing games to convince him to move in. and he did. After so many long years, I finally have Bob, one of my best friends, in my town again. And I also have Julian, the unicorn that gave me back my love for animal crossing.

This song is so beautiful. It's my favorite song from Animal Crossing. I personally found it before I even knew what Animal Crossing was and it almost moved me to tears. It makes me feel very sentimental and a bittersweet kind of sadness. I can't put into words how much I love this song.

You open your front door, and wince at the early morning sun. Your hair is messy and unkempt, and has been so for quite some time. The last time you woke up felt like a long lost dream.
The letterbox to your right is overflowing with papers; the dates slowing to a halt at Agust third. You look around. It's summer.
Something pings on your heart as you gaze across the path leading to your home, now partially overgrown by weeds and dandelions. It tuggs you out into the world, and though your legs ache, the worry in your mind is much too pressing. Feet stumble past rows of perfect fruit trees and hot springs and ladders of wisteria, all tangled in a mess of uncut grass and an air of loneliness. Eventually, you reach a tree. Not just any tree, the oak one you planted on the day of you becoming mayor. It's almost double the size of what you remembered, with a big, thick trunk and wide emerald leaves.
You carry on; past re-tail, windows worryingly dimmed. Past patches of dirt that are all identical in size. Past that spot where you distinctly remember Isabelle falling into a pitfall trap. Everything was so familiar, so achingly memorable, yet so distant at the same time.
Then, a building. A place you went to every day without fail. A place to check in and do your duties, have a chat with you goofball of a secretary and think about the day ahead.
Your office.
A firm press on the door sent it creaking inwards, a dormant layer of dust falling onto your head and making you cough. You step inside, the mustiness drowning your lungs. She wasn't there. The last hope you had, that one person you always relied on at the end of the day. She too was gone.
You crumple to the floor, pain shooting through your knees. Tears formed, and fell from your eyes, leaving spots on your trousers. A rush of emptyness swept through you like a freight train.
"How... How long was I gone..?"

I remember putting this on in the middle of the night and just bawling my eyes out. I’m unsure why I was actually crying, I just hold in my emotions and everything I was sad about that time just came pouring out.

i listened to this a lot when my grandmother got diagnosed with lung cancer back in 2013 and i was worried sick about her to the point where i couldn't sleep. luckily she is cancer free and doing very well these days, so now when i listen to this i think of how grateful i am for her to still be around. love you lots nana 💛
This makes me think of an odd story...
A little girl was a lonely, but cheerful girl. She didn't really have decent parents, since they seemed to not care, but she was still happy. She loved cupcakes. She was obsessed with them. She was cheerful in her whole life until she growed up. She made it to the fifth grade, but she started to become more and more miserable. She was told by a bully to stop crying, so she did. And the tears growed into a ball. The ball growed cold and rotten. It growed into a subsatnce that looked like a stale cupcake. Nobody had ever tried to inform her about her future. She growed into college and wasn't really taking care of herself. In the weekend, she wrote a letter to her roommate saying to not be surprised about the dead body hanging from the ceiling. The little, cheerful, cupcake loving girl has killed herself.

Animal Crossing: City Folk was the first game I ever got addicted to and I got it from my dad and my oldest brother on Easter the year after my brothers and I recieved a Wii for Christmas.

I used to play acnl so much. I have owned 4 copies in 5 years alone, i used to play with my cousin osvaldo. He lived sort of far from me so we only saw eachother in acnl usually, i could go to him but i dont get much time anyways. He and i would do so much on my town called Astroland. Osvaldo helped me go through all of my tantrums and was the only one who could get me to calm down. We were like peanut butter and jam, we mix perfectly even though we are so different. He would help me find ore, upgrade my town, water/grow plants, remodel, share bells, and just talk sonetimes, but then one day he didnt awnser my texts or calls, i was worried so i went to meet him in person. And when i got there. I was told that he is being treated in the hospital for a disease i forgot the name of. He was sick and its hard to recover from it. I visited him as much as i could and helped him when he was in need, then one day he messaged me if i wanted to play acnl with him. I hadn't played for 3 weeks worrying about him. So i said sure and he and i did the most excruciating work to make my town lovely. Then we had a party in my house, and this song was playing because osvaldo and i always loved soothing music, then he told me something i will never forget. "Astro.... never abandon this town, promise me you will either keep or sell it to another child, you could get the next big animal crossing game as you wish, dont ever abandon what makes you happy, i need to tell you something" and he said "todays my last day" i was crying and he was to (as i predict) and he and i shared our final moments here. Then he left and i just fell asleep crying. The next few days i was too depressed to do anything. But eventually i got over it. I will never forget you osvaldo. You were my best friend and i will always remember what you did for me.

We all remember that first night staying up till 2AM playing animal crossing...my first AC game was the original on GameCube- to this day it is still one of my earliest memories. I must have been 4 or 5 years old....sitting there in my living room with the lights off. Only our comically large CRT TV illuminating the room. I'll always remember the good ol days.
I kinda wish it started like this, and become more complex as it went on. This is still very beautiful, though.

when I was about 7, my mom decided that I was responsible enough to get a dog. we got two dogs - the one I picked, a longhaired chihuahua mix named jenni, and the one my mom picked, a german shepherd named max. I didn't really like max at first; he was old, I was a little scared of big dogs, and we were worried that he would hurt my cat, ashli. but max proved to be very gentle; he wouldn't hurt a fly. he even became the best of friends with ashli and jenni, and it wasn't uncommon to see the 3 of them napping together. despite his old age, max loved to play with me in the backyard. one of his favorite games was keep away. after about a year, max's arthritis got too bad and he couldn't play anymore. I was a bit sad, especially because jenni wasn't fond of playing, but max became my best friend, and I learned to love him. in november 2017, my cat ashli went missing. I was very sad, but I was still grateful that I had max and jenni by my side. they were sad too, and I remember them looking around for her. in january of the next year, I got my cat gloria. she hated max and jenni. that saddened me, but I knew there wasn't much I could do. time skip to april 20 2020. max had watched me grow from the 7 year old I was to the 13 year old I am now; he saw so many milestones of mine - my graduation from elementary school, becoming a teenager. max suddenly stopped eating, and became distant. a few days later, on the 23rd, I came home from my other house. my mom was really worried, but I thought max would be fine. this had happened before. at around 8pm, my mom was in the living room with max. his time was up, he taught me all that he could. he just fell asleep for the last time. I was watching danganronpa crack when my mom came in my room and told me. one minute, I was laughing my ass off, the next, my entire world was crumbling. my best friend of 6 years was gone. I cried so hard that my face tingled and I almost passed out. my sister, my brother, and their dad came over to provide comfort to my mom and I, but I didn't want it. I just stayed in my room and cried uncontrolably. after around an hour, I went into the living room. I sat on the couch with my sister. she had her switch, and I had mine too, so we played acnh. I made a little memorial for max, near canberra's house, purrl's house, and the museum, my favorite places, so I could always remember the dog I grew up with. I only had my game for 3 weeks, so my island was pretty undeveloped, but the memorial has never changed. I know max is in a better place, but I still miss him so much.
My sister was a animal crossing player. J didn't play much but every time I did get on I always had a full mailbox of letters with presents. This song was playing in her house. I miss getting the letters. But at least I know shes in a better place... R.I.P. Ronnie Marie

This song reminds me of the morning my dog got put down. (last Monday.) She's been around all my life, and the morning they came to put her down, she looked so hurt. I loved her so much, she was my best friend.
She looked so happy when someone new came, she tried to get up but since she had a big tumor she couldn't get up. Hearing the words "she's passed" was so heartbreaking for me. I didn't come out of my room for 4 days (except for food) I'm so sad and tired that she's gone. It's so empty without her.

About two months ago, I lost my best friend, my dog Skye. She had cancer, we don’t really know. We put her to sleep at home, laying in my lap.
She didn’t want to leave me. She didn’t pass until I told her I’d be okay. I don’t think she believed me, but I know she’s still lingering around me.
Nighttime is always the hardest. I hate having to think about how much I miss her. I hate looking at the box with her ashes inside on my shelf. I wish she was still here.
It’s hard, but I know I made the right decision. She was in pain, I wouldn’t keep her like that if I had the choice, which I did.
We’d lost another dog not even a year before, either. I miss Daisy too, but she was my sister’s dog, not necessarily my dog. That’s not to say I didn’t love her, because I did, and I still do.
Thanks to whoever decided to read this, I guess. It’s helped a bit writing it out, at least.

This makes me think of some friends I had. They really hated me, and I was stressed at school, so my Mom moved me to a different one. I was devastated, and kind of an emotional wreck the beginning of this summer. I'd just start randomly crying, because I'd just suddenly think of them. I'd think of how they forgot my birthday, or how they never talked to me, or if they even missed me. I eventually got angry at one of them, because she sorta stole my other friend from me, and I just wanted to yell at her, and tell her I'd been reduced to talking to walls and videogame characters, and tell her how insane I felt during quarantine because she and my other friend didn't ever talk to me on Zoom or call or whatever, and yeah, I was talking to walls and getting angry over the littlest things. But eventually, I got over it, and was excited about going to a new school with my only real friend. But then my mom said we couldn't afford the tuition fee for the new school, so I have to go back to my old one. I'm absolutely terrified about going back to my friends. Well, I dunno what else to call them. And today, my Grandma died. I just wanna talk to my friends again, my only other friend is always busy. Today I just broke down and started blubbering nonsense about my siblings picking on me and my friends and my Grandma and I'm just so upset, dhehjsjbdb. Sorry.
