Thanks for doing this, very nicely done! I have a 1914 Buick Roadster and it's very fun to drive around town or on tours!

An obtainable way to get into classic cars. A great hobbie and a way to preserve history. Cool video!

Much appreciated! Had a lot of fun putting this one together… everyone who’s into cars should try and ride in one of these antiques sometime!

We have a 1927 Buick, loads of fun!!! Found it after it sat for 30+ years when the owner passed away, and it sat….and it sat….and it sat!
So now she is alive! Can’t wait to enjoy her more next Spring! With no heat or AC (obviously) it’s more of a Spring and Fall car to enjoy!
But she is a beauty, I named her “GiGi” after my Wife’s Grandmother, simple and emigrant but feisty when she wants to be!

The car should go a whole lot faster than 40 mph, a speed which a 20 hp Model T could attain. In 1923, a modified six-cylinder Buick roadster ran 108 mph on a dry lakebed in California. This unmodified car should easily reach 55-60 mph, perhaps more.

Under the hood there will be a 4 inch by 4 inch (approx) plate with a bunch of air pressures listed for front and rear recommended tire pressures.
On that plate it will, at the top, show what model this model is. We own a 1927 Buick Model 27, so our 1927 is a know. As a 27/27….
Take a look at that plate and it should tell you what model but part of that model will be 22 for the model YEAR then another two digits for the model.

It's a beautiful car but this demonstrates why when they make movies set in the 1920s they always use cars from the 1930s.

Nice info about the car, but the Progressive Movement was behind Prohibition.

    It's not a model 22. It's a 22-45 which means '22 model 45. And it's not the model 45 touring, all model 45's were touring. In 1922 there were:
    22-34 Roadster
    22-35 Touring
    22-36 Coupe
    22-37 Sedan
    22-44 Roadster
    22-45 Touring
    22-46 Coupe
    22-47 Sedan
    22-48 Coupe
    22-49 Touring
    22-50 Sedan
    22-50L Limo

They made a lot of models!
Do you know if the coach work was done by Oldsmobile or outsourced to an other company(s)?

If he were paying closer attention he would have noticed the main reason the brakes weren't that good is it only had rear brakes, four wheel brakes were just a couple of years away. BTW there is a 1924 silent movie with Buster Keaton, I think it's the Sherlock Holmes Jr. making fun of the new brake system, that show a car that is indicated to have 4 wheel brakes, about a minute later he has to slam on the brakes and the body slides completely off the chassis.

Oh I knew it only had rear brakes lol. Probably should have mentioned that. I’ll have to look that movie up! Thanks for watching! 👍
