Chavit's armored vehicle apprehended for illegally using EDSA busway

The convoy of former Ilocos Sur governor Luis 'Chavit' Singson was flagged on Monday for illegally using the EDSA busway, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said. The MMDA said the two-vehicle convoy entered the busway along Cubao in Quezon City. In a separate statement, Singson apologized for using the busway to overtake. Singson said the vehicle he was in has no plate number but has complete registration papers. He said it was a newly-made vehicle by BMW or Baluarte Motor Works, an armoring car solution company that he owns. Singson hailed the MMDA officials for “doing a great job and treating everyone equally” and offered a P100,000 prize, aside from paying the violation fine, to the officials who caught his convoy.
