Grizzly Ind. sells a version of this machine in the US. I had one and it was not bad. Got it for a song, the stone was badly out of round. Dressed it with a diamond and it worked fine. I did upgrade to a 10”, but it was a good way to try out this system. Housing is plastic, it won’t rust the way steel will. Works with all Tormek and similar accessories.

I got one 2 days ago, and I find the machine way better than the older reviews claim. I am getting very good results. One gets the impression they have listened to the complaints, and tried to address them. I had a Tormek T4 many decades ago, and I found the runout on the grinding wheel of this machine is almost identical to that of the Tormek. The slow RPM means that the tool can easily follow the profile of the stone. The tool rest seems better finished, and there is negligible play of the jigs on the tool rest. Just note that the universal tool rest from Tormek will not fit: the hole spacings on this machine are slightly different.

      Luckily, newer ones don't.

@@cvanscho All of them come with the same slide. Liar!

@@greg4272No need to be insulting or personal. I have just bought a 2000s and I have very little play on the jig where it rides on the tool rest. As a private consumer I have no reason to promote this product or lie about it.

@@cvanscho I knew what you meant. Very little play is just too much for a tool like this, where the whole idea is to keep chisels firm, without any play!
Newer machine don't have it is bullshitt, as all of them comes with this same attachment.
