I love the fact that the pit is so easily recognizable. We have all flew over it countless times. We've all soared down to collect those 2 dirt piles or 3 hochenbloom. Even the cliff that Fyrakk is standing on is somewhere I have been. It makes this cinematic feel like it's part of the world. I feel like I've interacted with this cinematic rather than simply viewed it.
Fyrakk is my favorite villain in a long, long time. He just seems SO HAPPY whenever he gets to do anything fun. He's such a breath of fresh air after Zovaal.
i really hope they dont sacrifice fyrakk, not only because he's a great character, but because he is their brother, and having the bad guys truly care about each other is some great character building imo
Raz could have killed Alex but didn’t. They do care about all dragons and Azeroth. It’s a continuing theme as Zovaal did what he did out of selflessness initially. This is basically a continuation of Shadowlands. The trio are Zovaal. The aspects are the 4 brainwashed idiots refusing to see the truth in front of their faces. Granted the trio doesn’t know things on the scale of Zovaal but they do seem to know the titans are not the force of good the aspects think.
I think Viranoth does care about her family. However, based on previous dialogue from Alexstrasza, Iridikron is up to some stuff his siblings are unaware of. So I believe he is less inclined to care what happens to his family. He seems to have other plans that he isn't letting them in on.
I definitely get the sense that Iridikron is using Fyrakk in this cutscene. "Oh yeah, go down there and bathe in Shadowflame. Wake up the elders. I'm sure you'll get super strong and there will be no negative side-effects..." I feel like Fyrakk is going to end up becoming much more manic and crazed and that will result in him being killed due to not being careful, but he'll cause enough damage in the process that Iridikron will consider it worth the price.
Fyrak has been such a huge psychotic energy character, I love it. He reminds me of my old cat that I swear had a personality disorder lol. I hope they keep him in the story as long as possible, they have to be able to give him an epic death or something. Maybe Iridikron can kill him?
Dragonflight is the best expansion I have ever played since I have being playing from Vanilla. It punches far above its weight if you give it the chance to seriously get into it. Great content, Artwork and Story, it just keeps getting better. Season 1 smashed all my expectations, looking forward to all season 2 has to offer.
An underrated bit I wish yall had mentioned, that look Viranoth gives Iridikron at the end. She seems low down annoyed that he brushes off Fyrrak, like she knows he's being sacrificed but is actually pained about it. It's a glorious little bit that may set up her betrayal of Iridikron later... or at least her doubts.
Vyranoth herself looks like someone who uses Fyrakk. Here it is worth understanding that they do not really use it, since in 10.1 2 important things will be said: 1) Fyrakk just craves strength and power and he likes the very fact of destruction. 2) Fyrakk is as strong as Iridikron, but less disciplined and focused. They sent Fyrakk there, they are perfectly aware of what they are doing. Vyranoth also knows that there is a void in Aberrus. So I doubt it already, she looks like someone who is aware of all the plans (and even makes them)
I think she's concerned about his life but also annoyed with Fyrrak's choatic nature, she knows the full plan but feels like using him as bait probably isnt the best idea in theory.
Watching Vyranoth ice everything below with very little effort and then Iridikron break the earth and Fyrakk crash down in a ball of flame, I actually got a little shiver and thought, “damn, these guys are already scarier than the jailer.”
Seeing how Fyrakk gains Shadowflame and knowing the origin of Shadowflame brings me back to Il’gynoth, “From the earth, he draws strength. Our earth. Our strength.”

I think Nozdormu is surprised by things...because he predicts and tells the future to try and guide or change it, but he can't see every step of the process. And in a way, I see him like Garnet from SU...perhaps he can only see the multiple possibilities, but not foresee how we get there exactly. Or he sees bad things and decides to try anyway, just in case it could work.
Worst nightmares could also just be a catch all phrase used to describe the raid bosses in general. She does use the term "nightmares", not nightmare, and it could simply mean the Elders as well.
In terms of Nozdormu and what is the catalyst for his transformation into Murozond it's the realisation that what he and the bronze dragonflight have been granted access to is actually a fractured version of the true cosmic clock, that has been manipulated by the Titans (Aman'thuul) to break the original design that it was meant to be. Think along the lines that the Cosmos was created to Follow a Design which was cyclic and infinite and this leads to the concept that the true design of the cosmos is to follow the one path over time and always repeats itself. Hence the concept of the Infinite Cycle of Time its the one the Cosmos is meant to be on. Now that you understand what the Infinite Cycle of Time actually is you can now understand how it could be used against Nozdormu to corrupt and shatter his perspective on what is actually true when it comes to time and the fracturing of the true cosmic time initially designed. So who is it that has been slowly corrupting Nozdormu and enabling what will happen for him to become Murozond? It's Xal'atath. Xal'atath is an old god but one that is able to do corrupt time and do things with any timelines that are not part of the correct infinite path that the cosmos should be on. She is the one who has been cloaking or shrouding various parts of the Fractured Timeline so that not even Aman'thuul can see the truth behind these clouded areas. This is visible when we see Nozdormu having to have the assistance of the Dracythr break through the veil which casts a shadow over areas in time that he can't see through (Veil of Shadow...= Void = Old God messing with timelines). Xal'atath however, has it set up so that certain required triggers at a certain time are used to allow Nozdormu to see what is hidden from his view through the eyes of others. It is all part of Xal'atath plans, ensuring that all pieces are in place for the final outcome which results in the transformation and emergence of the Infinite Dragonflight. Additionally it is important to also understand that if the Bronze Oathstone is essentially a connection or draws upon Cosmic Time it makes sense why you couldn't ignite it unless both the Infinite Dragonflight and Bronze Dragonflight were present together. They are two sides of the same thing and the True cosmic time isn't visible to the Bronze Dragonflight because they only see the fractured one. However, the infinite dragonflight sees the Infinite Cycle of Time that the cosmos should be on but it requires the Bronze Dragonflight to establish broken timelines to be converged back so that the universe is once again on it original infinite cycle of time as it was designed to be. To take this one step further TIME is the 7th cosmic force it's the one that is outside the others and is the thing that essentially binds and holds them all together. It's the Infinite Cycle of Time upon which the Cosmos resets and starts again which has happened twice before we are on the third cycle. It is a power that wasn't meant to be touched but in the event that it was the Cosmic design ensured there would be a solution to return it back to the original true design once again. So as Aman'thuul somehow got access to Time and essentially broke the Infinite Cycle of the Universe there is one that is the Bane of Time etc. that being Xal'atath. One other point of note is that Xal'atath if we follow the Lovecraft links of the other Old Gods is likely to be Xexanoth who is the bane of time etc. so it all makes sense.
13:15 my guess is that iridikron, having ties to the earth (which is even more connected through the dark bargains he seems to have made with old gods IN the earth), is having some kind of sonar-power.. like toph from the avatar series has. he feels when sth. near him walks on the same earth that he does, he feels the vibrations. i think this will come into the eventual bossfight and i'd love to have sth. along the lines of that bossfight from cata VS the blind dragon.. that fight was awesomly flavorful. 16:12 looks like a hydralisk (starcraft) to me and i'd be rolling on the floor if that was an easter egg and every youtuber be like "oh, which old god might that be?" hahaha that'd be such a troll move and i love it
Fyrakk looking back with a psychotic grin gave me anime vibes. Kinda fitting, as Mathew Mercer also voices Jotaro Kujo in JoJo and Trafalgar Law in One Piece.
For sure. Fyrakk gives me Hidan vibes with his maniacal zealotry. Iridikron and Vyranoth have a Pein and Konan dynamic in the way they calmly and efficiently infiltrate. Iridkron also takes on a Kakuzu type of dynamic when interacting with Fyrakk.
I think it's clear that Vyranoth cares about others and probably even cares for Fyrakk and will be disappointed by Iridikron's carelesness and sacrifice plans. You can tell that she was sad about Raszageth and she is the only one "sister, what have they done to you". I really would not be surprised if Iridikron also played her in some sort of way or even just ate her for more power to reference galakrond, which would be super cool!
I’m so glad you caught the Matt Mercer voices too. First time I watched the cinematic I had to pause and rewind to make sure I’d correctly seen Matt Mercer murder… Matt Mercer?
To add on to norzdormus confusion with the time lines, I think us messing with the timelines back in cata to get the dragon soul might have messed with things a bit, Making the time lines muddled and overlapping now
Anyone else notice how Iridikron's body is bursting at the seams with energy being held together by rope, just like Deathwing? Seems like he made a similar deal...
I knew that pool was up to no good. I fell into it when I was learning to dragon ride and was stuck waiting for stuff to recharge. It took forever, before I had all the talent points.
Fyrakk reminds me abit of Mark Hamill's Joker. In this patch cycle from 10.1 to 10.2 we may finally have a aspect of the black dragonflight as we deal with the aftermath of the raid and maybe the remnants of the sundered flame team up with Fyrakk in the megadungeon and we could face Vyranoth in the 10.2 raid leaving Iridikron to lead us into the next expansion maybe. Maybe the next zone and raid is where Vyranoth and iridikron are heading to next which could be a possible area for the aspects to reclaim the power they lost back in Cata. I love the analysis videos as always :-)
I've wanted the megadungeon to be about the Infinite, featuring a race through time. If Fyrakk dies in the megadungeon I really hope the Bronze/Infinite get a whole patch to themselves.
Someone commented on the last video that Fyrakk and Iridikron give such Starscream and Megatron energy and I haven't been able to unsee it since... I love all of these theories and i can't even decide which one I want it to be. I mean, Galakrond would for sure be awesome but probably awkward to make into a boss fight I imagine.
a couple of thoughts- 1) i don't think fyrakk is planned on being a sacrifice. i think he's specifically chosen due to being a fire elemental. he's the one who would benefit the most from shadowflame, and fyrakk's high energy nature lends well to keeping us, azeroth's mighty champions, busy for a while. long enough for iridikron and vyranoth to do their work mentioned at the end. fyrakk likely has enough self-control to actually understand and follow through with the plan. 2) speculation: i have a feeling that the dark nightmare found in aberrus will be some manner of irrefutable proof that the titans and their ordering was a sham. or if not irrefutable proof, then something that will make the aspects really consider if they know the whole truth. just enough to create enough chaos to destabilize the aspects. i think this sets up nozdormu's quest to either find peace with himself being a pawn of the titans, or him finally choosing murozond(likely a nozdormu/murozond hybrid) as a way to control his own destiny. no wonder he's always surprised at everything, his powers are probably from a titan vending machine lol.
Seems the incarnates were balanced in terms of temperament and personality that now that Razageth is dead Fyrakk is the odd man out. Iridicron and Virinoth seem cool headed and calculating, while Razageth and Fyrakk seemed to be the hotheaded brazen duo. Iridicron even lambasts Razageth for her "Overconfidence" as the cause of her death. I can totally see Fyrakk being sacrificed here for the greater good, but whether or not he cares to being used in such a way or will feel betrayed by this act is an interesting question.
First time I have enjoyed from beginning to end his vid. He did not appear for a first time like he is on some drugs screaming and kicking thro vid like mad man. Had funny bits in it as well which landed. Well made and looking forward to see more vids like this one.
Not gonna lie, the Incarnates remind me of G1 animated Decepticons, not the travesty of the Bayhem movies. Iridikron = Megatron, Vyranoth = Soundwave, Firyakk = Starscream. And I'm down for that.
In fairness to the centaur I don't think any mortal had seen their visage forms besides that handful of dracthyr so he probably thought he was just some souped up primalist snooping around.
Love the DF story and flow. In fact, i keep playing alts through the main story rather than skipping it bc its cool enough to just play through again 😂 id love to see blizz go back and streamline the story quests in the old expacs so a new player could in theory start in Vanilla and get all the major story points through all 7-8 expansions as they level to 60 and head to the Dragon Isles.
yeh, but story is what ruins the games before in an mmo, df pvp and pve content is garbage compared how it was in all prev xpacs, only vanilla and tbc were shittier.
I think that's part of the point of so clearly showing Valdrakken. It's happening right there but the aspects and their armies are nowhere near strong enough to do anything about it at this moment.
I think the released void energy of Abberus will corrupt Tyrhold and the drinking water of the Isles. Seeing their kind begin to go mad and mutate as Galakrond did would be horrifying to the aspects.
I kind of geeked out when I first watched the cinematic. "Oh, cool. Mercer's doing the voice of this guy, and... Wait... Is he talking to ANOTHER character he voiced??" I'm a fan of Critical Role so I've heard him do so many voices by now that it's easier to pick out his voice. (I went Arcane mage in Legion JUST to get Aluneth.)
The other thing that works in the favor of why the baddies are being liked is just the Story of Dragonflight and how it has constructed itself over time between launch and the 1st BIG patch. I mean between the patches we already returned to the forbidden reach and thus had lore to snack on as a sort of appetizer. And the ofcourse there is the Orc Heritage questline that in my eyes was just dam RIGHT.
Probably not Galakrond or a single Old God since she uses the plural "nightmares". What if, and this might sound crazy, Galakrond wasn't the big bad that ate all the dragons? What if Galakrond was Azeroths's empowered hero meant to take on an out of control cohort of protodrakes meth'd out on Titan juice whose original mission (the mission of these meth'd drakes) was to kill all the other protodrakes (because they can't be controlled by the Titans and they stand as a real threat to the Titans' plans for Azeroth), and what if the darkest nightmares are just literal memories of Alexstrasza et al. having been the dragon version of inquisitors?
Is the emerald dream perchance the titans carving out and laying claim/siege to pieces of the void? Is the rift of aln perchance, a crack in the protective shell of "the dream" leading directly to the void? The place from which "the dark waters" spill forth. Like the dream is the void, but done up like the ihop in the good place.
Iridikron = Pein/Kakuzu, Vyranoth = Konan, Fyrakk = Hidan If I can find a voiceless version of the trailer, I'll do a Japanese fandub of Iridikron and Fyrakk.
I find it rather ironic that the Infinite Dragonflight is associated with Void influence when their stated goal is to force a single "correct" timeline on existence. Isnt that what the Light wants? One correct way to be that they'll force on everyone through conversion if they have to? Whereas the Bronze as they are now are more in line with how the Void views time, as they interact and move between all timelines constantly. It's a complete inversion of our relationship with these cosmic powers as they've been presented so far.
I'm not 100% on the intentions of the infinite flight. However, the bronze flight was put in charge of keeping the one true timeline by Aman'thul. Has nothing to do with the light.
To your point about Vyranoth and Iridikron, aren't there certain power dynamics where the leader isn't always the smart one? I can totally see Vyranoth filling that kind of role with the Incarnates, and still being subservient to Iridikron just by virtue of how powerful he is.
From now on, Fyrakk shall be named "Fyrakk the Burninator" "Fyrakk was a man.........he was a Dragon man.........maybe he was just a dragon........but he was still Fyrakk!!!!!" (for those that know about Trogdor)
So what you're saying is there's potentially an old god that WAS chained in Aberrus but was somehow freed and, rather than someone like Yogg-saron or Y'sharj who seemed rooted in place, *left? Almost like they walked, or were carried out?* Maybe put into a mobile form that we stumbled upon in an area corrupted by Deathwing, like, say, _Grim Batol?_
imagine if the incarnates were wrong about the entrance location, and fyrakk just faceplants right into solid rock
It’s a trap!
Then a Murloc runs across the screen like the Roadrunner. And says "Mrrgggglllll"

I really would not be surprised if Iridikron also played her in some sort of way or even just ate her for more power to reference galakrond, which would be super cool!
I can see Vyranoth either getting used by Iridikron to gain more power (like you described) or at some point just defect.
I’m so glad you caught the Matt Mercer voices too. First time I watched the cinematic I had to pause and rewind to make sure I’d correctly seen Matt Mercer murder… Matt Mercer?
Fryrakk survives! I read somewhere that he is in there doing something! I am stoked for this to release!
Oy! Respect Nozdormu. The man has been granted infinite spoilers and managed to resist the temptation to peek
one of my friends pointed out that Iridikron's horns arent attached to his head but theyre just floating near his head and i cant unsee it
Damn ^^ 0:23 thats creative! Nice one.
To add on to norzdormus confusion with the time lines, I think us messing with the timelines back in cata to get the dragon soul might have messed with things a bit, Making the time lines muddled and overlapping now
clearly the darkest nightmare is more of Neltharion's fanfic
Man I like how lit they are all. So cool and solid.
There is only ONE thing playing through my head when Fyrakk Skybombs and that is: LEEEROOOOOY JJJJEEEENKIIINS!
Anyone else notice how Iridikron's body is bursting at the seams with energy being held together by rope, just like Deathwing?
Seems like he made a similar deal...
yes since iridikron is the primal incarnate of earth.
@@patrikzotaj4528 Deathwing only started to break apart after his deal with the old gods though
Ice Lady reminds me of the Winter Queen. This cinematic makes me want to hop on the zeppelin outside Org and see these Dragon Isles.
@pumbaaj I’m sure it’s obvious but the “Taliesin” who replied to this comment is a scam bot. Do not interact
Oh! That's what the djaradin in the raid meant by find their elders.
I love the analysis videos as always :-)
but vyranoth is also can control water and ice as the primal incarnate of water.
The "rock, cool, lit" joke actually made me spray some water 🤦
“They rock… they are cool…. They are lit…”
yeah… take my like
I've wanted the megadungeon to be about the Infinite, featuring a race through time. If Fyrakk dies in the megadungeon I really hope the Bronze/Infinite get a whole patch to themselves.
flown into mountain and the expansion is over - love it
Someone commented on the last video that Fyrakk and Iridikron give such Starscream and Megatron energy and I haven't been able to unsee it since...
I love all of these theories and i can't even decide which one I want it to be. I mean, Galakrond would for sure be awesome but probably awkward to make into a boss fight I imagine.
"... half speculation of..." Ohhhh im in!
These are the best villains so far.
a couple of thoughts-
1) i don't think fyrakk is planned on being a sacrifice. i think he's specifically chosen due to being a fire elemental. he's the one who would benefit the most from shadowflame, and fyrakk's high energy nature lends well to keeping us, azeroth's mighty champions, busy for a while. long enough for iridikron and vyranoth to do their work mentioned at the end. fyrakk likely has enough self-control to actually understand and follow through with the plan.
Listening to Taliesin burn Nozdormu for consistently being unable to do his ONE JOB gives me life.
I’m sorry but the fire dude screams starscream to me…
My computer would hate me if I logged into Valdrakken every day.
When we kill Fyrakk, you know his death quote is gonna be like, "At least...I got to...burninate...THE THATCHED ROOF COTTAGES!!!"
I am not sure what you meant about the world tree.. are they going to freeze it? How do you draw that from this cinematic? Or did I miss something?
First time I have enjoyed from beginning to end his vid. He did not appear for a first time like he is on some drugs screaming and kicking thro vid like mad man. Had funny bits in it as well which landed. Well made and looking forward to see more vids like this one.
Not gonna lie, the Incarnates remind me of G1 animated Decepticons, not the travesty of the Bayhem movies. Iridikron = Megatron, Vyranoth = Soundwave, Firyakk = Starscream. And I'm down for that.
Who would be Raszageth then?
I love you keep using BFA music in parts of your videos because it was a great soundtrack.
In fairness to the centaur I don't think any mortal had seen their visage forms besides that handful of dracthyr so he probably thought he was just some souped up primalist snooping around.
He is the junkrat of wow and it’s glorious
Love the DF story and flow. In fact, i keep playing alts through the main story rather than skipping it bc its cool enough to just play through again 😂 id love to see blizz go back and streamline the story quests in the old expacs so a new player could in theory start in Vanilla and get all the major story points through all 7-8 expansions as they level to 60 and head to the Dragon Isles.
yeh, but story is what ruins the games before in an mmo, df pvp and pve content is garbage compared how it was in all prev xpacs, only vanilla and tbc were shittier.
I also wonder why none of the aspects tried to stop them from doing that. Fyrakk almost nukes the daycare area.
I think that's part of the point of so clearly showing Valdrakken.
It's happening right there but the aspects and their armies are nowhere near strong enough to do anything about it at this moment.
I mean to be fair to Nozdormu, being able to see all time, doesnt mean that you SEE all time, just means you can, if you focus on the right thing
I'm praying when we can go to the Zaralek Caverns blizzard lets us dive/fly into the caves and its not just a portal
Galakrond is the Aspects darkest nightmare, and shadowflame could be the key to reviving him.
I think the released void energy of Abberus will corrupt Tyrhold and the drinking water of the Isles. Seeing their kind begin to go mad and mutate as Galakrond did would be horrifying to the aspects.
I cant remember when I was this happy playing wow and what is to come in the story.
Matt Mercer doing his best Mark Hamill Joker voice as Fyrakk
Aw thought you'd do the little clip of Fyrakk with the Niffen underground as a bonus!
I do wonder how many times the phrases "open the way", "the way is open" have been utilized in-game. I keep having deja vu moments when I hear it.
The main take away I get from this video is that Matt Mercer is the goat.
Not that I din't know that already, but this just proves it even more.
Iridikron = Pein/Kakuzu, Vyranoth = Konan, Fyrakk = Hidan
If I can find a voiceless version of the trailer, I'll do a Japanese fandub of Iridikron and Fyrakk.
Absolutely true. There's always some brains behind an operation, not necessarily the leader.
@Joey Harder case in point: Dragonball's General Tao led the Red Ribbon Army, but Doctor Gero was always the brains.
Which also makes it likely that Vyranoth ends up 'defecting' after Iridikron goes too far.
RIP one of the best spots to chill on the island. I better get my fill now before it's a crater. =(
From now on, Fyrakk shall be named "Fyrakk the Burninator"
"Fyrakk was a man.........he was a Dragon man.........maybe he was just a dragon........but he was still Fyrakk!!!!!" (for those that know about Trogdor)
So what you're saying is there's potentially an old god that WAS chained in Aberrus but was somehow freed and, rather than someone like Yogg-saron or Y'sharj who seemed rooted in place, *left? Almost like they walked, or were carried out?*
Maybe put into a mobile form that we stumbled upon in an area corrupted by Deathwing, like, say, _Grim Batol?_
