Hello, Jenna. Thank you for sharing your new Home setup, enjoy it ! as for the internet router given by your provider, you can still use your own infrastructure - just switch the router they gave you to "modem mode" (switch off gateway functionality) and connect port 1 output from it to WAN port on your own router. This way changes on your provider side will never impact your own setup and you can enjoy the speed and wifi your own router provides though out the house.
Jenna, use their router for wired connections only, diactivate the wifi transmitter for their router, and get you either the Google WiFi or Orbi two satélite kit. You can have the main module either downstairs and then the satélite module upstairs. I have Orbi at my home at it works great!

I would go with Eero or maybe Google Wifi instead of Unifi. Unifi is AWESOME (I have like 8 of their devices), but they're definitely designed for "people who want to spend time futzing with their wifi", whereas Eero is more 'the thing you buy your non-technical parents and they just plug it in and it works".

Get the Unifi USG Router/Firewall - it handles 1000/1000 without any issues. Its been rock solid for me - I speed test at about 980Mb in each direction.
Omg the nearest Whole Foods to me is near cranberry which is an hour away! 😫 I can only find Guayaki in a local health store but they only have a small cooler! That Yerba wall looked amazing! I need them all!!
More stores here are adding Rocateq "lojacks" to shopping carts due to people taking the cart home and ditching it in a ditch or shoving it down a hill near their apartment complex. It's a little box that's on a wheel that locks it down when you go so far from the store. There's a Super Wal-Mart in the city that's in a small valley, with the main 8 lane road up a hill to the front, and a 2 lane up a hill to the side. When you pull out on the side, on the other side of the road is a huge gully that's at least 200ft running the side of the road, at least 100ft across, full of kudzu so no telling how deep but, it's littered with blue carts where folks toss them in after taking their groceries up the hill from the store. Why not just take it home since you've gotten that far, and return it after? The Rocateq system should help keep carts at the stores.
you can turn your electric circuit into ethernet with a tp-link powerline adapter to bypass the need for wifi downstairs (if your devices downstairs don't only run on wifi)
Take their router so you get a full gig gateway (and then can blame them if the connection isn't reaching its max speed) wire your old router as an access point for the wifi part.
2:14 - Hey no problems using their router + another router's Wifi. Put your router into "Bridge Mode" and plug your router into their router. That easy.

BTW spectrum sucks. You can use your own modem and router just get WiFi hotspots to cover the square footage of the whole house. I do however recommend hardwiring all gaming systems to prevent lag disconnects even with the gig speed

Jenna use their router and then get some unifi access points. Trust me, they are great!
any decent AP/router will work, bonus point if it is one supported by FreshTomato, then you can have full control over wifi settings.
