    I spent months test riding all of the Hyper nakeds. I am glad I have learned not to listen to reviewers but rather test ride any bike I am interested in. If I had listened to reviewers and magazines I would have gone straight to Ducati and bought the V4S. Predictably that is exactly what I did but only because they were the first to allow me to take a test ride. Most other Hyper Nakeds were not available thanks to COVID. After testing the V4S, Tuono, Evo and the Triumph I ended up buying the KTM Evo. All of these bikes are great but the V4S has no business on the street, in fact it is useless on the street with they way they have configured the power band. The Tuono is amazing but it is just dated. The KTM had all of the tech, the suspension and the best road manners. The torque is absolutely unreal and it is by far the best bike for the road. Track would be a different story but I don't ride on tracks.

    Full Demo Mode? Case well put, I am for it! Do remember shelling out for MSR to go with my MTC on my 1290 SA-T (or was it the other way round?). Either way perhaps I don't ride hard enough here in Queensland (where license loosing is quite easy) . HHC? Paid for that and it still gets in the way parking into a steep gutter! Anyway 1500km to 'play with the lot' will makes you evaluate & then decide when 1500km comes round whats to keep.

    i must agree. plus i know yo are trying to be nice about all the manufacturers BUT i have a 2021 KTM superduke 1290 GT and retail price is £17000(british punds) i bought it in pandemic for £14000 brand new. I really dont think the KTM motorcycles worth the money they are asking for. Sadly they are not nearly as good finished and reliable as bmw or ducati. used to have a 2018 Yamaha mt 10 sp and it was a briliant bike and the pricing was spot on. Just went to my dealer again to look at the EVO they offer £10500 for my one year old very low milage ktm GT to buy wopping £18699 with extras (some) and saying me BUT they will give me £1000 free extras package which means the bike will cost me £17699 without a slip on or luggage, plus the colours like only a mother can love. In the financial climate we have in the world at the moment, i would like to pay no more then £15 K for a brand new KTM, and no more then £18K for a brand new Ducati. But Matt you can see why , if i go to ducati back to trade my bike in I will get more money for Ducati but KTm's seems to not hold the value, as they are not worth the money in the first place. hopefully just like the housing market in Uk motorcycle market will come down. Seems like £21.499 is a normal price range for motorcycles these days, if you want to buy very good motorcycles. Well i am refusing to pay that and get a comical coloured bike with 200 odd hp with no pillion comfort, no MPG and no future value. Whatever bike you have no matters its a vespa or a ducati or a harley davidson, It should be able to share nice experinces with your other half. Should be able to go fast but should be able to go slow as well. I refuse to believe a motorcycle is a single riding experince. 18 years of riding with my wife on my back , we had from aprillia RSV4's to Ducati panigales and bmw K1600gts to Ktm 1190 adventures. I like to see motorcycling having a TURN in a better future. BETTER MPG'S! better ride quality and better fit and finish, good looking bikes. No body is interested on how much hp your bike has, unless your audince is 20 odd years old. People who can afford these prices of these top brands cares diffrerent things. They like to believe that bike is special, at the minute its how much hp it has got but this has to change. Will i buy a KTM superduke 1290 EVO ? i would as its lighter then gt and similar suspension now with anti diving which is great for two ups, but would i like to spend that money, NO!

    As a Superduke R owner (twice over '17 & '20) I have to whole heartedly agree with you regarding KTM pricing strategy being complete bollox. But having bought one both in Ireland and the UK I managed to get the optional "Packages" included in my deals, I would not have bought either bike unless that was the case and on a point of principal alone would be an Aprilia or Ducati owner now. So it does create needless confusion and irritation. In fact every KTM owner I know here (at least 5 or 6) have done the same. KTM has grown substancially here in the last few years but I don't think that would be the case if we didn't have a clued in dealer knowledgeable enough to know this strategy risks losing customers.

    • @kirkdunn1379
      @kirkdunn1379 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, as market softens and consumers aren't buying as much dealers will have to include these packs with the sale......KTMs aren't cheap to begin with but what they bank on is the performance of the bike......for their application they best in the biz generally speaking....

  • @Firestorm637

    Premium bikes premium prices. Harley rarely increase horsepower or electronics every year but offer fancy paint names with increased costs every year. Some cars you can actually double the MSRp with options. Airfare is really bad with all the surprise add ons. Teaser rates that are not factual to be competitive with another brand. I have owned 2 Super Dukes. If your spending $20,000 what is another $1000. You just went on an expensive vacation, what is an addition $1000 as you may never return. Just sayin.

    I have owned several KTM motorcycles both on road and off-road. I would absolutely love a new KTM like the super duke or the 890 R however on principle of having to pay more money to have built in software and hardware technology released after already paying a premium I have decided not to buy a KTM and will look at the Ducati and BMW options first. KTM as a company makes several marketing and public relations decisions that have offended me not the least of which is the sacking of Remy Gardner who has without doubt done more for the KTM brand in Australia than any other rider. I hope Jack Miller will do well in MotoGP over the next couple of years but to be honest with you I doubt very much whether he’ll be any more competitive than the other riders in their teams because the KTM is just not competitive.

    I am old enough to have experienced the anti dive technology that came and went in the late 80’s. I don’t understand why they are again offering it as a feature as loading up the front end under heavy braking before a corner and trail braking into them only assists with the turn in and power out. As an ex Australian Superbike racer with Phillip Island being my home track, you need the controlled dive of the front end for many more reasons. 👍😎🇦🇺

    • @fabiena1787
      @fabiena1787 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, antidive isn't the same nowadays, to begin with. Then, its purpose is more obvious when you ride on the road, with road oriented suspensions (esp. the springs). The change in geometry is useful when the front dives, but if it dives too abruptly (soft springs on the roed, remember?), then you find yourself with stability problems. And then there is the legend that allowing for the suspension to dive will make the weigth transfer happen. But it's just that: a legend. Physics are hard set on proving that the "weight transfer" (actually, a change in contact forces repartition) happens whatever the suspension is doing. Myself, I don't like antidive that much on my Super Adv S. it's not terrible either. I think it's more about addressing GS riders. But comparing todays antidive tech to the one of the 80's... Come on!

    • @marcusgeorge1825
      @marcusgeorge1825 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fabiena1787 It’s not about comparing 80’s technology to today. I thought that was obvious. However the theory behind it is still relevant don’t you think? As the weight transfer also reduces trail and rake (when trail braking into corners) allowing for a quicker turn in. Obviously this part takes a bit of skill, however once mastered, it does improve the overall experience (and lap times on track).

    This rent-seeking behavior from KTM will over the long-run not be good for them. They don't understand how much more respect they'll get as a brand by including most or all of these essentials as standard.

  • @luckyoleary9626
    @luckyoleary9626 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm getting ready to buy my next bike. I've narrowed it down to the Ducati Streetfighter V4S, and the MT10 SP. I've already owned a 2018 Tuono Factory and although that was by far the best bike I've ever owned, I'd like to experience something new, otherwise, that would be on my shortlist. The Superduke Evo was on my list but after discovering all the extra costs to add things that come standard on the others, there's no way in hell I'd let myself purchase that just on principal alone. That plus the fact that where I live just outside of DC there isn't a good dealer network and the closest one is about 45 minutes away.

    • @tubejorrit
      @tubejorrit ปีที่แล้ว

      Problem with the Ducati is the trouble and cost of putting on an aftermarket exhaust. You will need to remove a lot of stuff like the radiator to get to it and if you want a premium brand like akrapovic you end up spending 5000,- or more. The KTM you have to pay for extra " packs" that should come standard but in the end its cheaper then the Ducati. The MT-10 is a great bike but I can't stand the looks and it also comes 30whp short of the KTM.

Demo mode - let's have a look what you could have, it's on the bike, but we're going to disable it after a short while and you have to pay us to enable it again !!!! I don’t know much about KTM but their bikes are definitely ready to race. After what you said though I’m worried how is KTM pitching their products to customers because this is shocking. Personally, I never even considered the super duke because of my own riding experience, at the very most il stop at 890 duke or discontinued 790 (sourcing one currently). I feel those are definitely better value overall. If you just want a fun machine and don’t care about the brand that much I believe that little duke 390 and 890 are best offerings for most.
    I am mostly a street rider and those bikes make sense…
    However, let’s not forget that out here in South Africa the Kawasaki Z900 seems to be getting ignored with that inline 4 that makes lovely sound and horses😮 and at R166k or about £9800 it’s probably a bargain to ignore 🥹😎
