Nova being a Disney kid and Olympia being a Nickelodeon kid explains so much about their personalities. 😂🫶🏻❤🔥✨ Here for every bit of nostalgia in this video! 🥰
Nova really spoke to me with the Digimon mention! She's absolutely right that the Digimon anime was way better than the Pokemon one (as much as I love that one too), the first two series have such a stranglehold on my childhood nostalgia it's insane, didn't see Tamers until I was a teen but holy moly I'm almost glad I waited that long because that got dark and heavy towards the end. I was huge into tv when I was 8-12 (and mostly like Nova was almost exclusively watching animated shows) so I could possibly mention a million different shows, but two that jump out right away is Code Lyoko, such an underrated gem, and Teen Titans/Justice League which kickstarted my love for DC animated shows
Absolutley agree with Nova. Digimon was WAY better than Pokemon and was for sure for the more mature ladies amongst us. Did have some dark moments for sure!
Even though it wasn't a kids tv-show, I remember watching "The Golden Girls" a lot during my childhood. It used to air on Sunday mornings in Denmark and it was the perfect show to watch in the morning. Clearly certain jokes I didn't get until I was older, but I loved it so much.
Born in 1991 in Western Canada, I watched every single one of the shows they listed. Loved the first season of Digimon. So happy about the Reboot mention as well! Also, we got the British Art Attack over here.
I know it’s probably not particularly a kids programme but Charmed is my all time most nostalgic and favourite programme. The magic was so much more mature and Leo could’ve been my whitelighter any day
I used to watch Charmed with my mum all the time! I've rewatched it more times than I could ever keep track of. As a kid it was the perfect show because it wasn't super childish but also wasn't too adult that I couldn't watch. I've not dared to watch the reboot of it yet >.
@@niatheelf Same! I never rewatch TV shows but have seen it start to finish like 3 times. Once my boyfriend and I live together I am 100% making him watch it, he's never seen it before!
Welcome back ladies! I recognised and also watched many of these myself! I agree with Nova on Digimon! I may have looked up the intro after hearing Nova talking about it!
As a shy (and very overweight) 80s child that didn't get out much, I watched quite a lot of television, but two of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons, were Thundar The Barbarian and Dungeons & Dragons, D&D was actually pretty scary sometimes and I Loved that! Have you thought of doing a video about your favorite childhood toys and the toys you really wanted but didn't get?
I could seriously listen to Nova go on about the intricacies of the TV shows that are originally made for children, but explore so many important/mature themes that they created a legacy for all ages. Sailor moon was definitely a huge one ! ✨
Are you afraid of the dark scared the hell out of me as a kid! I also loved Clarissa Explains It All, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Boy Meets World and Ahh Real Monsters as a kid! I was also way more Nickelodeon over Disney Channel
There was more adult humor in early Spongebob than now, like Squidward saying "Too-louse lautrec." My grown uncle would laugh more than me when we watched together, things like that just flew over my head.
I'm just here to say that subscribe to every word Nova said about Digimon. Love the pokemon franchise but the Digimon series were soooo good. There was so much emotion and drama, it was fantastic!
when i was growing up in australia in the 80’s and early 90’s, we had a lot of british children’s shows on our tv. loved art attack. also was obsessed with press gang.
Growing up in the 80's as a kid, teen in the 90's, I loved Care Bears, My Little Pony, Lady Lovely Locks, Rainbow Bright, all those sorts of shows (Still love Care Bears to this day)
I simple CAN NOT believe you brought up Reboot, Monster Cafe and Nightmare. I had Reboot on VCR but have no idea where it actually came from or why we got it but I remember Hexadecimal being an absolute queen. Monster Cafe I still put on sometimes at Halloween and it makes me so nostalgic of trick or treating as a child dressed up as a witch, and Nightmare I've been trying to remember the name of for YEARS now, thank god you watched it too.
I bloody loved Mike and Angelo, I'm so glad someone else remembers it. I really liked the Demon Headmaster even though it scared the shit out of me. There was a new series of it a few years ago and it was really good too.

Love you, Novympia!
spongebob totally had lots of adult humor, it was just REALLY hidden in there. I caught one the other day when spongebob tells ms puff "See You Next Tuesday" and about fell off my bed
Also so obsessed with Sabrina that I still remember the voice of Sabrina in the animated series was Melissa Joan harts younger sister (who made an at least two appearances in live action show as well)
my favourite show growing up was hands down "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters"! i don't know if you guys have seen it, but it feels like something Olympia really would've enjoyed, maybe even as an adult
Loved this! My favorite was definitely Rockos Modern Life. Also, eff you for putting in that clip of Nova drunk on the floor. I damn near choked on the popcorn I was eating.
Sabrina was my favourite growing up too and I remember sitting down to watch the final episode with my mam. My other favourites were Spongebob, Fairly Odd Parents, Ed, Edd and Eddie, Yu-Gi Oh! and My Parents are Aliens. I also used to watch a ridiculous amount of reruns of old game shows as a child on Challenge
As a child who was left alone a lot, I have many faves, including Yu Gi Oh, Beyblade, Digimon, Sailor Moon, What I Like About You, Sabrina, Danny Phantom, Lizzie McGuire, Cardcaptors, and many many more. Quite depressing really! Ty for the memory lane video both
I love the way Nova articulated what's so good about Digimon. I don't remember watching the series much because I'm pretty sure it was on cable in the US, but I do remember the movie, which to this day is one of my favorite animated movies of all time. So good. Also, Nova, you'd be surprised just how dark (early) Spongebob was. Not only inappropriate moments, but straight up nightmare fuel.
I loved a few of the ones mentioned but i was also a fan of Lizzie McGuire, Even Steven, Jungle Run, Mona The Vampire and the all time classic Tracy Beaker
Sister sister, kenan & kel, sailor moon, Are you afraid of the dark, spongebob I love so much as a child. The nostalgia I'm here for it! You both look amazing!
I lived for are you afraid of the dark Kenan & Kel and Hey Arnold… I couldn’t turn the channel fast enough when Kim possible and Digimon came on. I feel that my youth TV watching matched Olympia’s closely. Omg I loved Saved by the bell
As a teen I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Re-watching the musical episode "Once More, With Feeling" (S.6 Ep.7) still makes me laugh and cry. And I loved the spin-off "Angel". Other faves were Dragon Ball Z, Flap Jack, One piece, Ah Real Monsters and Invader Zim.
I loved a show called "Once Upon A Time Life", it's a cartoon about how the body works. Watching the intro on TH-cam brought back memories of little me trying to pause the video at just the right moment to see if the male character had a winkie.
We had a show like Art Attack in the US during the late 90's/early 2000's called Zoom. Not necessarily always "art" related, there were like science projects and shit too. I still sing the theme song in my head sometimes lol. ❤
My favourite episode of Hey Arnold was when Helga's mum throws away her chewing gum shrine of Arnold. That episode has stuck with me for decades! I have never come across two people who's references I get 95% of the time! AHHHHH
Oh no this video has activated the dumb facts obsessed part of my cartoon loving brain. Nova is right Digimon is very much more maturer than Pokémon, the entire plot of the last Digimon movie and a lot of the anime is about growing up and leaving your Digimon behind. And then Olympia is right in that there are mature jokes in Spongebob, there’s a clip of Spongebob watching an anemone dance and then frantically switching the channel as his pet snail slithers in. And the last sad thing with the creator of Spongebob I’m not certain but part of his objection to a muppet babies-like remakes is that the humor of Spongbob is that the fish are grown up and have jobs but act immature and get into ridiculous hijinks.
Yaaay! Seems like such a long time since you updated! 💜Edit: I grew up watching a single tv channel that showed one children’s show a day so I can’t relate I’m afraid. Lucky you, heh.
I'm on the same page with Hey Arnold!!! I loved the animation AND how he was friends with everyone and was smart and had a cool way about him and his friends 😁❤
YESSSS ALL OF THESE WERE AMAZING, I was thinking about your videos today while I was at work and realised how long it has been and came home to this gem!! Thank you!! Art attack is for ever my fave. Also, TOTALLY SPIES!?! How didn’t that come up?!
Being an "old man" at 40 now, my jam was Jim Hensons Fraggle Rock in the mid to late 80s. And as a teen in the late 90s I never turned off the TV if Dexters Lab or the Powerpuff Girls was on. Ohh.. And Inspector Gadget. The cartoon, not the movie.
When I was really young I liked rainbow bright, Jem and the holograms, teddy ruxpin, life with Louie, Bobby's world, and gummy bears. Once I got older I enjoyed are you afraid oF the dark, Clarissa explains it all, and it wasn't a kids show but I lived for tales from the crypt and in living color.
My absolute favorite tidbit of SpongeBob humor-I can’t remember the episode but I’m fairly certain it involves Bob and Patrick doing a trial run of a Krusty Krab meals on wheels style truck- Bob (as they’re leaving the Krab) “Bye Squidward!! BYE MR KRABS!!! Bye, Squidward.” Patrick “You said Bye Squidward twice.” Bob “I like Squidward” The resounding ‘mo humor that would completely pass any innocents by. Hands down my favorite example.
Like Nova, I grew up on Sailor Moon ENG Dub... For years it would be my life, it's still a very big thing for me. Then I found out it is anime and I BINGED the entire 500 or whatever episodes or the anime in it's Japanese subbed form and it just made me love the show more. Knowing the real context behind most events and no censorship.
Omg yes all of these shows! Can’t believe how much TV I actually watched as a kid. Another UK one I lived for was SM:TV Live on a Saturday with Ant & Dec and cat deeley
Being slightly *cough* older than you two. The stuff I used to watch as a kid were Thundercats, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Eerie Indiana, Penny Crayon, The Family Ness, Pigeon Street, Trap Door, Bertha....a lot of animated stuff it would seem...but better than most of the shit on TV these days
I was a Sabrina kid as well 💓 you're so right, Olympia. I still watch it with my family sometimes as an adult. The first 3 seasons are flawless. And yes we agree with you Nova🤣, the Pokemon anime started out as a pretty generic anime but I think it has gotten a lot better within the last few generations of the series (XY, Sun&Moon, Journeys)
My name's Tricia (and I had my 57th birthday last week), and I'm a massive SpongeBob fan !!! I'm also still partly hungover from last night 😊 And nothing will beat Knightmare and Bagpuss in my eyes ❤
Oh I absolutely _adored_ Sailor Moon. My little sister and I used to sing along to the intro and credits songs every time! I don't remember Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune's relationship being censored in the Swedish dub of the show, but I might have simply missed the wording or something. In any case I definitely remember having sensed that there was something more between them! Looking back on it (I had a week-long binge of all the seasons a few years ago!), it was blatantly obvious, of course. I also have fond memories of that strange show "Round The Twist".
I never got the TV in my tween/teen years because my younger siblings had their stuff on all the time. So most of my memories of kids TV are the late 2000's to the late 2010's Nickelodeon, Cbeebies or Nick Jr. Although when I did get the TV, the Sarah Jane Adventures were my jam. Honourable mentions go to Trapped, M.I.-High and Scooby Doo
I cannot get over the ‘the ‘otel is fabulous’ woman. she sounds like she’s talking with a full roast dinner in her mouth. Thank you for giving me and my husband hours and hours of videos to enjoy and a billion more references to quote. Love you darlings 💖
Definitely Sabrina and Art Attack! Madeline is definitely in my top 5 that I could go back and watch as an adult and still enjoy regardless; Same with Babar and TinTin (the theme songs gets me every time). Daria I watched in late High school, but ABSOLUTELY loved. Other honourable mentions: Noddy, Brum, Fireman Sam (don't ask me why, but I had a crush on Elvis), Postman Pat, Wild Thornberries, Rugrats, George and Martha, AH! Real Monsters. Little Elvis Jones, Fathing Wood, Gumby, Captain Planet, Angry Beavers (oop, naughty). CatDog, Trapdoor. But, being Aussie, I have a tonne of Aussie-centric TV shows: The Fearls, Silversun, The Genie from Down Under, Around the Twist, The Saddle Club, Blinky Bill, Ship to Shore, Heartbreak HIgh (Netflix recent released a reboot of this series, which Is just as good as the original).
Maybe you girls should do a mini-series where you watch one episode of some "classic" British Kids TV shows... like "The Tomorrow People", "Children of the Stones", "The Ghosts of Motley Hall", "Rentaghost", "The Clangers", "Magic Roundabout", "Captain Pugwash", "Emu's Pink Windmill Show", "The Wombles", and so on... and do a "review/reaction video" for each one!?!?
Does anyone remember Pirates of Dark Water? From the early 90s? Digimon was a bit more mature than Pokemon. That show was the genesis of my sister and I screaming ‘crimson lightning!’ And hitting each other with a dressing gown cord
Oh my god gurls you did it !!! And this was just one suggestion lol 😆 Thank you for the shout out and the video I'm happy you did it. 😊 Ps. I hope the other video is still coming 😉 Love cheers and hippads gurls ❤️
The headless horseman was my favourite Are You Afraid Of The Dark episode. I loved Sister Sister which I've watched on Netflix recently, but I couldn't get into Moesha. Art attack used to get on my nerves because I wanted to see it in action but it was always here's what I made earlier. Ren and Stimpy and Catdog are two I used to enjoy too

So Weird is the one Disney show I keep coming back too and tell everyone about. Everyone should see So Weird.
I cannot get over the ‘the ‘otel is fabulous’ woman. she sounds like she’s talking with a full roast dinner in her mouth. Thank you for giving me and my husband hours and hours of videos to enjoy and a billion more references to quote. Love you darlings 💖
Had to come back to mention my love for Reboot. Omg. That was soooo good
Ooooommmgggg i never thought I'd hear anyone mention reboot! Every Saturday I'd wake up so excited for the cg shows: Beast Wars then Reboot.
You guys have made writing my dissertation bearable ❤️
I loved the eps from Are You Afraid of the Dark? - The Tale of the Bookish Babysitter.
Ryan Gosling in Are You Afraid of The Dark was my childhood crush!
Omg we used to have art attack in Canada as well on CBC!! I literally put it out of my mind I forgot head!!!
Memorable ones for me are Cow and Chicken, My Parents are Aliens, Worst Witch, Pinky and The Brain, and re-runs of the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon :D
I am in love with Nova's wig in this video! Very pretty
Cool.. what a step down memory lane.. watched nearly all of them .. great video gels x
Yes!! Digimon is particularly great as a story!
I loved Digimon as a kid! I think Angewomon was my favorite!
Does anyone remember Pirates of Dark Water? From the early 90s? Digimon was a bit more mature than Pokemon. That show was the genesis of my sister and I screaming ‘crimson lightning!’ And hitting each other with a dressing gown cord
YES absolutely loved podw 😍
@TheMaidofMiddleEarth its a pure forgotten gem. That biker mice from mars and reboot were my top 💃🏼💃🏼👌🏻
Oh my god gurls you did it !!! And this was just one suggestion lol 😆 Thank you for the shout out and the video I'm happy you did it. 😊
Ps. I hope the other video is still coming 😉
Love cheers and hippads gurls ❤️
I used to have the Are You Afraid of The Dark board game from back in the day…I wish I still had it😔 The intro scared me more than any of the episodes
