I was recently offered a car with 1L discount. Opted for external PDI which was not allowed but then allowed as I stated no PDI no delivery. The engine had several components rusted and now awaiting refund of booking. PDI is a must now.

I personally feel, many TH-camrs and auto channels are simply driving people to car dealerships who do not offer such discounts. It a game with trap. Would like to see no one buying any cars in this festive season so dealers, manufacturers and government reconsider profit, profit amd taxes and correct the pricing.
How can we find what discounts the company is offering. Let's say Kia Seltos. The dealer is saying only 60k discount on gtx plus. But u mentioned 1.3 lakhs. How to ensure that correct discount is being passed on to us

Such discounts are NOT offered only, it's a trap to get more footfalls in the showroom.
I also checked with 2 different Kia dealerships and they are offering measly ₹40k discount and that too in the form of free extended warranty + maintenance package. So literally there is no discount.

Landmark Jeep is not offering ₹3 lakh discount on Compass. There are only 2 dealers, and they have a monopoly due to which the dealers also know the customer are not going anywhere even if they don't provide discount.

The best cars are the small ones with good engine which gives good mileage and is easy to maintain. Indian middle class families shouldn’t spend more than they can afford. The taxes are killing people. And small cars are best suited for Indian traffic. To name a few the Ignis, Altroz, Tiago, Swift(body isn’t that great) wagon R and even the celerio are great cars.

Tata should have provided more discount of about ₹2 lakh on Safari Adventure and Safari Accomplished variants to increase the sales. The recent news of Tata cars lying around in flooded stockyard in Vijayawada is a red flag for car manufactured before September 2024. You never know if the dealers cross sell and sell these submerged lemons in name of discounts to unsuspecting customers.
Safari and Harrier are still not selling even after 2 months of discounts, so Tata has reduced ex-showroom price by the same amount as the discount amount offered in August 2024. The QC issues and service center not able to handle electronic issues is probably making customers reluctant to go for Safari or Harrier
