Loved it. May i add or come up with an idea? 2007-2014 Chevy Suburban 1500 4WD have 50/50 weight distribution from factory, makes for some awsm drifts in the winter ( ask me how i know), i think it would make for a fun follow up video , more "budget friendly FULL size RALLY SUV" .
I wonder if the front hop you describe was a result of the F450's wide track front end and its better turning capability. An F350 outfitted the same way might not suffer from the same problem since it doesn't have the hubs and wheels kicked out so far, and its lock-to-lock steering range is reduced.
We have seen some ranchers who use their trucks...but seems to be a problem with most highly capable vehicles. Some use them and many just have them for show.
This mainly seems to be the case with european SUVs. American trucks/SUVs are used off road at a much higher rate than european ones. The latter is just for show, more like status symbols, even though they're extremely unreliable and not worth as much as they cost.
"Will it Rally" is the series i've basically dreamed about. Please keep this going. Vintage cars, electric cars, supercars, everything needs to be tossed around in gravel. If possible do a time board so we see where these things stack up.
I’m convinced the F450 is a sleeper performance truck. You can find videos of the cartel wheeling them around with 3 tones in the back like they’re an Altima, I’ve seen a tow truck super duty fly by me at 30 over the limit up a hill, and now you’ve proved they can rally.

Being a squirrelly teenager one time turned loose with my dads old 1984 dodge d350 with me constantly hopping up the 360 in it every chance i got, I actually did stuff like this on back country dirt roads for years. Never really got to drive anything really better suited for that kind of stuff, but i had a blast. Also in my own mind i did fairly decent in that old truck. That thing was absolutely fierce from light to light in town. I smoked many muscle cars of the 90’s between red lights in that truck. Always wanted to get it dyno’d but never did. It would boil those dualy tires in second and third gear, would pull the driver side front tire off the line iff those dualy’s bit the road. This brought back good memories, goof as it is, thank you.
The 450s also have much more steering angle than the 350s due to the wide track front axle, I bet that helps with the big angles when skidding around lol
To dampen the wheel hop & improve comfort, throw a small load (200-500lbs) in the bed or install traction bars. The leaf springs, stiff side walls, & solid axels in duallys can create wheel hop under hard acceleration. I bet you felt that front wheel hop in your soul when you sent it in 4WD!
Honestly, this style of truck rallying should be much more of a thing. Most of the time we only see trucks do heavy/slow competitions, but in reality being able to bomb up a mountain road in good time with manageable handling would he a great way to showcase a trucks capability in a more real-world-adjacent way than you usually see.
I knew it was going to be good when you said you pulled all the ABS fuses. Love the proper commitment to some of those corners! That's a lot of truck to hustle down a country lane like you did.

Ive always owned duallies, and fun fact. They are the easiest to control due to the extreme long wheelbase, and the most fun to chuck around, also adding that when ur driving it it doesnt seem like a big deal, but to people looking at your truck sliding sideways its always terrifying to them, and that i really enjoy aswell. 😂

Pretty expensive rig to risk a rally crash in the woods there, I'd be scared too. Nice driving, management of the foot pedal handbrake and release lol, and signals lol.. Reminds me of winter driving the straight trucks, vans and pickups at work here in Canada!!

I know you can get the Kumho Road Ventures in 10 ply which would be a good candidate. I had them on a half ton and enjoyed them. Cheaper than most tires but great all weather traction.
This was great! I grew up in Northern Maine and this is exactly how i taught myself how to drift. Out in the middle of nowhere on logging roads with a full size truck. Granted i never had anything as nice as this truck back then, but still very similar. I also felt your pain trying to reach the release for the emergency brake with the seat belt locked up.😂
My Boss I did construction with for 2 years had 2 of these, and one was a Platinum trim. Holy crap that thing could haul ball hitch 25,000lbs worth of 2 skidsteer and a flat bed and you wouldn't know its back there. And unhooked, the truck was super fun to ride in and would put you back in your seat and tops out at 93mph. My favorite part is just how big it is and they looks super good, both of them were Black metallic.
He who is last shall be sideways and smiling. Sidenote: that has to be one of the longest wheelbase vehicles to ever get beat that hard through a rally stage.

Lol talked to any farm kid that went unsupervised in the back pasture or to check on the cows on another farm that just so happened to be on a gravel road will tell you yeah a crew cab dually can rally. Ask me how I know. This was awesome thanks for the content. Keep it up
Recommendation: Really crazy idea. Try this with a semi truck. They're big and heavy, so they should feel planted, and with the air suspension, you can tune how high or low you want the frame to sit, ajusting the amount of body roll.
I grew up on the Oregon coast and my buddy Sean had this Chevy long box extra cab 6.5 turbo diesel . He would drift it like a maniac like 60mph on the gravel logging roads. It would start bouncing and it was really sketchy especially when coming back onto the blacktop from the gravel at seemed like close to steering lock.
This was a great vid Team O’Neal and thanks! I can assure you that a 2017 Ram 3500 version of this truck slides predictably well on wet Oregon logging roads. Spool it up everyone!
New here. Hilarious! I love this, as I've spent many many thousands of miles in these and cube vans. I'm in Canada, the proper winter portion of Canada, so Ya, the dually for snow drifting can be a major helps with the extra traction on the rear and with weight for resistance. It's a good mix, As long as the power is there. I'm not sure on the "rules" you use in these videos for this, but I would have geared down to 4, not allowing it over 4 or 5 on the straights for sure or used a different drive mode. Super fun video through and through!
My unit in the guard has a few of these and i can attest that they can tackle some offroad shenanigans pretty well, and especially without a trailer, are actually pretty damn nimble.
Just found you guys and I'm definitely going to have to go through the backlog of these "Will it Rally?" videos. The Kia Sedona and Astro Van episodes look hilarious! I know you can only run what you can get your hands on, but I would love to see a Jeep Gladiator or a Hummer H2 put to the test. Maybe some sort of Range Rover? Whatever the next episode will be, I'm here for it!

I had those tires on my f350 work truck before I got bumped up to a f550. Loved those tires in Wisconsin, great in snow, acceptable in mud, can make it through most work conditions except when it rains enough that I probably shouldn't be working anyway. They definitely should be rotated, but on a dually work truck, that doesn't happen enough.
Best tires we've ran for 2WD F550 and Ram 5500 service trucks have been 245/70R19.5 Michelin XDS on the drives and XZE on the steers, got some meat on the rears and it'll get you out of a bind long as you don't bury it.
I love it! lol I have had multiple crew cab long bed diesel’s since I was 17 some even dually’s I grew up running them on the old logging and fire break roads where I live an I believe it made me a better driver lol now I use them to actually tow my race cars to have fun 🤣
I hope this video inspires some idea for future videos. I can say that this will break the internet if you do a few more videos changing tires or upgrading shocks or ways to make it even more contollable and smooth and fast.

This truck isn’t even meant to be used offroad regularly. Like he said, it’s built for towing heavy loads over long distances in comfort.

I think putting the shifter in “M” would keep it in whatever gear you choose. My ‘14 5.0 f150 is that way.
