    I have the same rifle chambered in .357 Mag. and boy she's a beauty! It quickly became one of my favourite rifles to shoot. Miroku has done an incredible job with these rifles.

    I freaking love that ‘73 color case chambered in .357 Mag. So neat and practical being able to shoot .38 too. Must be a fun one to run n gun with in some woodland course. Cowboy and Indian style! 🥳

    I’ve got one in 45 colt, 24 “ octagon Sporter mod , in the last couple of years I’ve put around 10,000 rounds through it from standard pressure loads to what they call ruger load , 230 gr & 265 gr cast bullets, and the action is still nice and tight, toggles are still perfect, my favorite load is 3f 265gr Wide flat nose, or 230 gr 7.8 Winchester 231, or 8.5 unique, very nice guns lots of fun. Now having this rifle in my hands, I must say it is more beautiful in person than in all the photos I've seen. Hard to let it out of my hands. The only beef I have is the hammer. Should've been case color hardened, or raw steel look to complete the aesthetics. But no big deal. Still the prettiest firearm I now own. Now in the middle of my dreadful California 10 waiting period.

  • @gd198070
    @gd198070 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I recently purchased the same model only in 357/38. Couldn't be happier with the fit, finish, and the handling. After hearing your comment about the "short stroke" lever throw do you know if the "competition high grade" is fitted with a shorter lever throw versus the other 1873 models in the line-up? It does appear to be shorter than the competing models from Uberti.

    • @JBJHonez
      @JBJHonez  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s cool. I don’t know, I don’t have any of those to compare it to

  • @tagman1
    @tagman1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you lever yours, do you notice any resistance with the firing pin on the hammer? Also, when I took my first shots, the cartridge would get a bit hung up between the block and the extractor when ejecting. It smoothed out a little bit, but still hangs up a bit. You have any issues with that? I wouldn't expect something like this considering it being a "competition" model and with that price tag.

    • @JBJHonez
      @JBJHonez  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. Seems pretty smooth and easy. It felt a little rough at first but the more I shoot it, it gets better

    • @tagman1
      @tagman1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JBJHonez I thinks that's the same case here. It cycles a lot better now after shooting 300 rounds and then levering at home another 700 times. LOL! Still slows a bit on the hammer a 1/4 way back in the motion. Just cant figure out why it will not cycle 357 snap caps. Must be a dimension issue that this gun does not like.
