While To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science was the first to obtain a copy, it should be available to any member of the press or public via the Freedom of Information Act. This footage was captured by a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet using the Raytheon ATFLIR Pod that was being operated by a highly trained aerial observer and weapons system operator whom the government has spent millions of dollars to train. Go Fast reveals a Navy encounter that occurred off the East Coast of the United States in 2015 and the object in view remains unidentified.

Its because they are playing around, because it's a bird flying at ~10,000feet... The jet is at 25,000feet tracking it.
The jet is flying towards the bird and the Parallax effect of the gimble camera is making the ground below appear to be traveling fast. Its like when you look through binoculars and everything appears to be moving fast.
If they thought it was anything significant the pilots would have a different tone, there would be more footage of them chasing it, and it wouldn't have been declassified... This is all just a cat toy dangling in front of our faces to distract all the idiots.

In Brazil we had a similar ocasion in the called "The UFOs Night/A Noite dos OVNIs", when a lot of pilots saw UFOs flying in supersonic velocity. They inclusive opened fire against then, but had no results.

Has anyone broken down the flight profile of the object? Altitude, speed, size, anything? From this video my first guess would be cruise missile, but I would love to know for certain what this is.
David Bills The Navy says that they categorize it as an Unexplained Aerial Phenomenon. In other words: It is not anything they have seen before. And it is highly unusual that they actually admitted that instead of giving us a harmless explanation like it being a Cruise Missile. There are other videos and also longer versions of this one and also written information/protocols with more details.

These videos are a subtle threat to China and Russia that we have cruise-missile technology beyond what they can handle.
Also, the background statement on this object states that it is at 'low altitude'. I did simple trig and determined its altitude to be about 14,700 feet. Is that 'low altitude'? If it were a cruise missile, you would expect it to be flying far lower than this. Whatever it is, it isn't concerned with being detected by our radar systems.

The video contains an error (or at least something that leads to errors). At 0:52 it states that the range to the target is 4.1 NM, and shows a angle below the aircraft of -22°. However this is a composite image with the 4.1 RNG taken from later in the video. When the RNG is 4.1 the angle down is actually -28° not -22°
so for those of us who dont scrutinise tracking systems video can you explain the impact of this mistake you've uncovered in relation to what is being claimed?

Assuming that the FLIR has the slant range to target correct, and that the fighter was making coordinated turns, all the information needed to determine the exact speed of the object is present in this video. F-18 airspeed, altitude, bank angle, FLIR track offset, and range to target. Does anyone know if there is a breakdown of the math for the object's speed?

A man that was working on researching these things for the government was frustrated that the public was not being kept informed. He got the 3 videos declassified and released them, then quit the agency! He has been on a couple of shows on TV. He was part of a group that was investigating the Tic Tac video off Catalina Island off the the coast of California.

Did the airmen make visual contact with the object before visualizing and tracking it with the ATFLIR? As many others are asking, what is the object's estimated size and speed? Temperature?

hello.seems whatever those things are, if you watch that Gimbal vid, their whatever size seems to vary and they can fly beyond 240 knots "against the wind" which the pilot there stated "120 knots"...for if the pilots had visual contact etc, estimated size and temperature of the objects, ask the U.S. Military? :/

If you crunch the numbers and take 15 seconds of video starting at 1:38 and ending at 1:53 you'll see the object has moved approx. 2180'. The starting position is described as measured 4.2NM from the jet (ALT 25000'), 47D left, -27D below. The ending position of measurement is 3.5NM from the jet (ALT 25000'), 56D left, -34D below. Now, in the span of the 15 seconds, the jet, travelling at 255kts, flew 6420'. This means, the following: At the first measurement, the object was had an altitude of 13400', and was traveling at 160 km/h in order to cover the 2180' in 15 seconds. At 1:53, the object was at ALT 13100', having descended 300'.
Also, more interestingly, the object was not traveling from right to left at all. In fact it was traveling left to right. Due to the differing altitudes and speeds of the jet/object/ground, it appears to be moving to the left when it's actually flying to the right.

@@mrtercio449 How can you tell? I cant see any indication of distance to the object or its AGL on the display, so how did you calculated that speed? Besides at velocity 10800 kph this low in atmosphere it would gerate so much heat that it would be melting. Se Sprint anti-balistic missile for reference.
@@cebi1337 based upon the angle of the camera, the speed of the aircraft and how quickly the angle changed while moving with the target, i've calculated the speed of the target at "42". please understand that these calculations were done on a calculator powered by an infinite probability drive. :D

Can anybody deliver a vector calculation on how fast that object was moving? Its vector speed toward the Hornet was on the order of 300 mph but it was moving laterally wrt to the aircraft, not directly toward it. I don't know if I have the math skills to compute what it actually did.

In a 3D space, the camera angles constrain the lines of positioning of GoFast, assuming it does not change altitude (fair assumption). If you do that for two points (0'11 and 0'31 marks), after reconstructing the plane trajectory (not too hard, because it has constant speed/altitude), you'll find that for a GoFast altitude of 12000 ft (2.1Nm), all the numbers in the model align with the numbers on the screen : the camera angles, the range (RNG), the closing velocity (Vc). And this gives a speed of 57 knots (65 Mph) for the object.
Let's assume that for some reason the range was underestimated, the model shows that near the water the speed would be 295 knots (340 Mph). As long as no unequivocal explanation is given for why the instruments may have underestimated the range, the 12000 ft/65 knots solution is the most plausible estimation for the position/speed of the object.
Looks like a few pixels failed on their display screen and they got excited.

Dr. Emil Schaffhausen, your statement of being effectively stationary seems off due to the film starting with the attempt to lock on with auto track, meaning the object is moving and moving fast. But I digress over the matter, opinions may vary.
The guys were training to use the IR tracking system and they locked onto a missile that was sent past them purposely. They are happy because they were able to lock onto the target.
somebody on Fark.com did the math: This F-18 is flying an average true airspeed (TAS) of 367kts based on 25,000 and Mach .61 at a CAS of 253 knots, (which, interestingly enough, pretty much puts the temp at ISA).
Sensor elevation at target acquisition is -26°, range 4.4nm. So doing the trig gives us a difference of ~11,500' below the sensor. So we'll call the target altitude about 13,500'
Groundspeed is unknown, but at those altitudes it's likely a fairy negligible difference between the F-18 and the unknown for our purposes.
I did a plot of the azimuth and range for the next 5 seconds after acquisition and it basically came down to the target is moving at roughly 30kts, give or take a few. I ignored the left turn, because, goddamit, I'm not doing that (but it actually works in favor of the unknown being even slower).
All that movement you're seeing is basically the water behind the target moving relative to the F-18 as the sensor pod slews in narrow field of view (NFOV - basically zoomed way in).
In fact, at a 45° offset and 367KTAS, I'd expect the sensor to slew nearly that fast at a fixed ground target. So yeah, basically, that thing isn't moving all that fast. You're basically mostly looking at the speed of the F-18 and the offset of the target, coupled with the fact it's at 13,500' over water and the background is all flattened due to zoom.
This is not anything I'm worried about. Drone in a hover, weather balloon. I dunno. Not anything super exotic.

oDannyMitchello , they switched modes a couple times, it was dramatically colder than the water in both modes.
Although I will admit it was so much colder that it seemed out of range for the sensor. Without knowing how that system handles out of range readings it's impossible to estimate the objects actual temperature.

IDK about the "quantum" trapping or whatever they are claiming, I've seen similar experiments in the same lab with different superconducting materials.

@@ibanezkiddo It is. no government official has verified these videos in any capacity. calling them official and claiming the DOD is the source is purely false by all indications.
They were edited for a reason, to make money. They knew these video existed and they also know what they are. Pilots see things all the time and yes not all are explainable. But Aliens? I think we would need a little more evidence than this. People love the "what if " I also know the Navy has been testing swarms of drones, so it's possible they or the Russians have some sophisticated drones flying.
Was this a drone? who knows, but someone does know. Black budget programs, sophisticated VTOL aircraft do exist. Remember the" Nellis UFO 1994" This is about money, show the UFO community a few edited film clips to generate interest and support. .Now with our current cheap video editing video software, anybody can fake anything, so everything is suspect

Two things we need but don't get, 1. is the speed and 2. why is the video so short, one presumes that they tracked it for much longer or it flew off very fast. Need that info..

The guy in the video is a person who is an expert in the field and couldn't track the object , because it was really fast he had to put an auto track on it , do you think an amazon drone (lol) could put up a challenge with the most valuable radar owned by the most powerful country of the world ?

In the Army, helicopter pilots were cocky, funny, and gung ho, goes without saying they were also well-trained, but some of them were cowboys, Air Cav was always talking shit to infantry, I imagine fighter pilots are that times 10.
It's a bird at about 10,000 feet going opposite direction. It's amazing to get a lock on something like that because it's so small... they're at 25,000 MSL. So they're able to attempt it, and they did it. It's hysterical, they have a lock on a bird.

Does anyone know the estimated temperature of the UFO?
I've been wondering about this as well. The object is colder than the surface water temperature; which is between 0 and 20 Celsius. If you check out the "Gimbal" UFO video, you can see that the object is warmer than the air at 25,000 ft, which is about -34 Celsius. Therefore, assuming these are similar objects in these two videos, we can estimate the temperature to be between -34 to 20 Celsius.

I think theres enough data in this video to estimate the objects speed, I'll have a go at calculating it and post here later. Problem is I can see the aircraft rolls so I can't tell if the changes in angles are caused by the camera turning relative to the ground or the plane turning and the camera not turning relative to the ground

I just learned about this event the other day along with the tic tac video. I just thought of something pertaining to this video specifically. It may not be relevant but a missile can fly for quite a long distance after the motor burns out hence the lack of exhaust plume. Although at sea level i would expect a missile to bleed energy very rapidly once the motor burns out. This object does not appear to be decelerating and looks really close to the surface. Just something I have been thinking about.
