I'm Canadian and this story chokes me up. I'm a huge advocate of standing ground, kneel to no one, resisting tyranny, and reveling in the shock and bewilderment of the enemy who was foolish enough to underestimate integrity and principled resolve.
I too as a USMC Veteran thank you for your love for our country and putting your hand over your heart that got me thank you for that. This is the reason the flag never touches the ground .
My first time watching your reactions. I love your patriotism! As a USMC Veteran, it means a lot to see that their are people that feel the same way our active military and veteran’s do about our Flag. Thank you and have a wonderful 4th. 🇺🇸
Your service is appreciated, thank you! If more people knew the details of our flag's symbolism, there would be more respect. There are more people speaking out & educating citizens about the land they live on, so I believe that we will see more patriotism soon! Happy Independence Day!!
There are those who have been blinded by the meaning of our flag and what we stand for by kneeling or dismissing our country. As a US Army veteran, this made me very happy to see you watch this video.
Thank you for your service! I was in 8th grade when we first started learning United States history. That same year, we were permitted to choose whether we stood or sat down during the Flag Salute, so you can imagine the teacher had was biased. We need to take it upon ourselves to learn, which is unfortunate. But we are a young country, and it is more than worth the time to educate ourselves. That way, the symbolism won't be lost on us and we can live with gratitude & respect that this nation deserves!
yeah okay, there's been a lot of miss use of the Flag, but No one say anything about that, because of that, as a U.S Air Force Veteran I think you're Full of Shit! Oh! and think you for your service ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 4 U.S. Code Chapter 1 - THE FLAG: (b) The flag should not be draped over the hood, top, sides, or back of a vehicle or of a railroad train or a boat. thank you Young lady for your kind and warm review. You have made my heart smile seeing patriotic Young people!!!!! I hope the good Lord blesses you with all of the love and wealth that this nation has to offer!
It's unfortunate that people find rebellion & destruction to be such an edgy, cool hobby... not to mention our schools are basically demonizing our country and rewriting history if they choose to teach it at all. I believe even those who were taught to hate it here have a responsibility to take it upon themselves and learn this nation's history. It's not even 250 years old, so it's not too much for them to educate themselves on!
When I was in the U.S Navy I learned what each color on the flag means. Blue represents "Justice" (Democracy). White represents Nationalism (Pride in your nation). Red represents the "Blood we shed" giving respect to the troops that died to defend it. So if people ever wonder why Veterans get mad when people disrespect the flag this is why. Serving my nation and traveling around the world has really made me appreciate my freedom and way of life more. People don't understand how good they have it here. I also understand why people of different cultures will go through hell to get here both legally and illegally to try to become citizens. USA isn't perfect and we still got our issues but you aren't going to find many places in the world like our nation.
Whoa, I had no idea! Thanks so much for serving. Thank you for explaining the colors! It's sad that people use the freedom that we have in this country, only to disrespect the very nation where they are free. I believe the more you learn about how this country came to be, the more appreciation you will have. The cliche "knowledge is power" holds true. If you learn about our history, learn about the conditions of other parts of the world... things would be so different. Most of the disrespect comes from a place of ignorance. Sure, we still would have some people hating this place because they hate themselves. But a lot of the hate for America is shallow and only indicative of a sad attempt at being cool & edgy.
43 countries have red, white and blue flags... The Netherlands was the first red, white and blue flag. The Dutch or British who also have a red, white and blue flag probably introduced the concept...
When I was a young girl I didn't know what this totally meant, but I felt proud when I sang this in choir, and I love my country ♥ very much, and thankful too the military that fought to keep us 🇺🇸 safe!!
the flag means pain and suffering for african americans who were slaves when this song was mad , native americans who had their land stolen from them and had almost their whole raace wiped out and mexican americans who also had their land stolen . the flag means white people can get away with shit that minorities can't especially african-americans . this flag means white americans don't appericate the fact that african native and mexican americans didn't decided to team up and kill and take this country over
I love watching that story and always brings me to tears. I just wish people today could still feel as proud as me and other patriots about the story and song. I also wish they still believed in what this song stands for as other true patriots do. God bless America and God bless the men and women who fight everyday to keep us free you truly are brave. Love you all and thank you for everything you have done for America.
True! I have been sending the link of the original video around so more people can know the history of this song! This, and the Declaration of Independence as well
Yep, this is why we get so mad when people burn the flag or kneel during the National Anthem. Sure, many, MANY people have fought for and died so we can all have the freedom to do so, but that doesn't make it right. Doing those awful things disrespects the flag and the country, and all those other people who fought and died for them. Loved YOUR reaction and hope to see more of you.
You can't watch this video without having a tear in your eyes for the great patriots who died and a swelling in your heart for the pride and love of this country and a smile on your face knowing this is the greatest country on the planet 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We are blessed to live here. It's unbelievable that people fought & died to keep this nation free. I truly couldn't imagine living anywhere else. So glad to hear your patriotic thoughts!
I too did this 2 maybe 3 years ago and was told this was not true, as an American and have served my country this is true and it is worth fighting to save.
As a former submarine sailor it was one of my duties to lower the colors on my ship and we folded it with reverence, it breaks my heart to see it disrespected it was an honor and privilege to serve the nation that I love and carry on from those that precede me, God Bless the USA my home
It's 230 am here , I'm exhausted, but watching you put your hand on your heart . Feeling for the first time you know what that flag means. I stood up out of bed. I stand with you sis. The flag means so much to us, it's not just a piece of cloth
Thank you for joining me. Such a beautiful country we live in! We are so blessed that we don't even realize sometimes because this way of life might be all we know. Happy Independence Day!
@@xoFrancescaFox we are a melting pot of ideology, a thousand different voices singing in unison. We have to remember the blood shed for that honor. "That flag was held up...humanly" will always give me chills . Thanks for such a great video. I'm happily subscribed. 😊
As an US ARMY Veteran, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting this beautiful video here. You are truly a great America young woman, and I love your patriotism. For those people that kneel during our National Anthem, you all need to grow up and have respect. WATCH AND LEARN.
11 bravo Army here. First time stumbling across your channel. Fourth time seeing this video and it still brings tears in my eyes. I love you patriotism and keep it up
The story of this carries such importance and value, this is why it's good for everyone to watch and learn, even though the British were probably never ever gonna take the flag down, the American people the colonies of the many folks, all had one faithful decision locked in their minds, they must fight to the death, they cannot give up, this is why the American people are so dam strong, no other country will ever beat , we Americans have a rock solid attitude about that, 😎👍🇺🇸✊✌👊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
As a retired comando captain of 27 years this was a moving video I know this story and seeing it through your eyes was refreshing, sadly this isn't been told as much today instead the story is about the evil white man and not the sacrifice so many gave for our freedoms including 11 of my best friends gave their life for us to be free.
As the American people we need to remember that it has always been us, the masses, who have kept it flying. We need to work together to keep it up now.🇺🇸
I subscribed to you, because you had the purest and most respectful reaction to our history. Today many want to tear it down, but you proudly keep it alive. When you placed your hand over your heart as the anthem was sung, I knew you were a decent person and I could see the excitement in your eyes and the pride, knowing this is your heritage, your flag and your song. You missed the last part, just after the song ended, it was a Bible verse from Psalms 33:12, BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD. Take care.
I'm retired Navy myself. OSC ( SW ) Nice know there's still younger people like Ms. Francesca. Gives me hope for our future. That what we did, our brother's and sister's, no matter the branch or era, was in vain.
I got emotional at the same time you did… its a beautiful hiStory. Then I remembered how much my Father loves this country… in 2020, we laid him to rest with full military honors… God Bless America 🇺🇸 💕
My first time watching you. Your patriotism is inspiring and I feel exactly the same way. I am not military but my dad was but he never said anything about it. Thank you.
My sentiments exactly. I too get chocked up whenever I hear the 'Star Spangled Banner' the National Anthem our song as an American. Bless your love of country.
As a Army Veteran of 22 years Thank you for reacting to this and showing the respect for the men and women who gave THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE TO OUR COUNTRY to keep us free to live in the GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
As one who has lived the life of a warrior.... My oath still stands, and my heart is still with The People. I wish more could see this and understand the sacrifice. I wish you all well!
This video is well known to be highly inaccurate. For example, these events occurred during the War of 1812, not the American Revolution. By that time, America consisted of states, not colonies. Key went only to secure the freedom of one personal friend, Dr. William Beanes. It was not a two way prisoner exchange. Also, it wasn't "Fort Henry," it was Fort McHenry.
Thank you for posting this, im 72 yrs old and when you wiped the tears out of your eyes it brought tears to mine. I love seeing a young person being patriotic.
America has never been a perfect country, but it's a damn great one. This is the greatest experiment in history but at the end of the day this country is proof that a melting pot of cultures is possible.
Yes! It's no wonder we will be varying in culture here! People from all over the world want to live with limited government. I love it here because we are based on the fact that God gave us these rights, not man. Man cannot take them away. But at the same time, men & women enlist in military to continue to protect our freedom. This country is wonderful!
Not colonies, they were states. This was 1814, toward the end of the War of 1812, 39 years after the end of theRevolutionary War. There were not hundreds of ships, not the entire British fleet. England was at war with Napoleon in Europe as well. OK, so there are some embellishments, but the story is still really good. Love it!
Hey Franchesca! I love your heart, so pure. And I can truly appreciate this video. I enjoyed the story that was told. Those men gave their lives for what they believed in. And being an American today is a testament to their valor. Thanks for sharing 💙🤍❤🖤💚
Hi sweet girl, first off all i'm dutch. You're the fourth video i watched about the amazing story about the origin of the national anthem. I'm deeply touched by the story behind it. I never knew. But the moment that you put your hand on your heart, i broke and felt a tear. A true patriot ❤
Never been in the military myself but I was born an American and this brings the tears every time I see it. MUCH appreciation to those who have served, past and present and warmest regards to those who gave everything so we wouldn't have to. 🇺🇸
As a Canadian, I listened to the original video (the one that you're reacting to) countless times and always shed a tear - as someone who lived in your country for 5 years before moving back home, the US will always be my home and it pains me to see what is happening down there right now (and up here for that matter). But after hearing this video, I can never look at someone who disrespects the flag with anything other than complete and utter contempt and it would take my entire being not to throttle said person on the spot. The topic was already a touchy point for me because I knew the importance of the flag (regardless of nation) but upon hearing this story - it takes it to a completely new level of respect, reverence and aww. I now wonder, are there enough Christian Americans left to stand and fight, and die on their feet or have you already surrendered to the enemy without a shot being fired? God Bless America because if America falls, we all fall.
It's late in the evening/night and I cannot sleep. Not because a Beautiful raven haired Lady did up her makeup to learn some of America's history. As a disabled US Army combat Veteran I do not sleep much anymore. But watching you dry a tear you fought back was priceless. I would not judge you harshly if it smeared your makeup. Later your real pride shown through as you jut out your chin, an act of defiance much as the Colonialists had. Thank You Young Lady for putting your hand over your heart and being respectful where so few do without direction. At 57 I still get goosebumps listening and I learned this history in elementary school where we still said the "Pledge of Allegiance" every morning. Tears come to my eyes still thinking of brothers and sisters gone form this world but never forgotten. Johnny Cash performed and made a video for his song; "RAGGED OLD FLAG" that I would appreciate you reacting to. Then maybe you to could persuade idiots to stop kneeling and disrespecting all the Warriors that fought for their freedoms. It's not about current policy or behavior of a few, it is about pride. Pride like the tears that flowed from your eyes, a love of someone you've never met but already Respect for their life choices. You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
And for generation after generation after generation since we were children we are taught the sacrifice that our countrymen made. And that flag will never touch the ground. And that's why when you see someone in the military or a patriot sees that flag get disrespected or hit the ground we lose our shit.
Some people don't react to the history of their own country, you have to live it like you're on that ship it make me cry every time so proud to be an American never kneel to our national anthom.
Yes, you said it beautifully we take it for granted, at least the ones who hasn’t traveled and seen other cultures and countries. I’ve been in so many countries while in the Army and saw the rights we have here they didn’t have… 😢
Thanks for the reaction! I hope you also watch the Kentucky Choir singing the national anthem and whitney houston singing the nathem in 1991 , they're very iconic!
George Washington said it best and I live by that.. anybody that hates this flag and the United States can simply leave and not worry about it anymore.. I said what I said and I mean it and I don't apologize to anybody ever!!!
Just so you know this video is NOT a factual account. The after action report of Lt Colonel George Armistead is available online directly from the National Archives and it contradicts nearly everything in this video.

@@xoFrancescaFox stop it.........too cute
Not colonies, they were states. This was 1814, toward the end of the War of 1812, 39 years after the end of theRevolutionary War. There were not hundreds of ships, not the entire British fleet. England was at war with Napoleon in Europe as well. OK, so there are some embellishments, but the story is still really good. Love it!
Also, it is Fort McHenry, not Henry.
The building burning at the beginning was the White House.
Hey Franchesca! I love your heart, so pure. And I can truly appreciate this video. I enjoyed the story that was told. Those men gave their lives for what they believed in. And being an American today is a testament to their valor. Thanks for sharing 💙🤍❤🖤💚
U.S. Army vet..I will always and forever love this country and as long as I live fight to defend her..This oath never runs out..
Hi sweet girl, first off all i'm dutch. You're the fourth video i watched about the amazing story about the origin of the national anthem. I'm deeply touched by the story behind it. I never knew. But the moment that you put your hand on your heart, i broke and felt a tear. A true patriot ❤
Powerful. One of your best videos.
Such an impactful story! The song itself is beautiful, but the details are an important reminder of how we are free.
@@xoFrancescaFox Amen!
Never been in the military myself but I was born an American and this brings the tears every time I see it. MUCH appreciation to those who have served, past and present and warmest regards to those who gave everything so we wouldn't have to. 🇺🇸
Good to see your hand above your heart.
Thank you for your love and patriotism!
thank you! I love it here, God bless America!!
The United States Air Force says thank you for your patriotism and love for our country and what it took and takes to keep it free. God Bless!
This is an easy country to love and your service is very much appreciated!
As a Navy Veteran, I can tell you some of us changed the ending slightly:
"O'er the land of the Free, BECAUSE of the Brave."
Army retiree here. Thank you for your reverence and respect.
Thank you for your service!
You are in my prayers
Hoka Hey
And for generation after generation after generation since we were children we are taught the sacrifice that our countrymen made. And that flag will never touch the ground. And that's why when you see someone in the military or a patriot sees that flag get disrespected or hit the ground we lose our shit.
Good to see a beautiful patriot!!
Thank You Francesca! I know one thing they don't have. That is they don't have women as beautiful as we do!!! 😉
Thank yous purely Lady!!
Some people don't react to the history of their own country, you have to live it like you're on that ship it make me cry every time so proud to be an American never kneel to our national anthom.
It is that fundamental idea that most people underestimate about the American character...."I will rather die on my feet than serve on my knees"....
Be proud! Respect from Poland.
I love that you put your hand over your heart ❤
Every time I watch this, I cry!!!
...and this is exactly why I'm so proud to be an American.
I cry every time. 💖🙏🇺🇸
Wow that was beautiful. I cried through the whole song. Thank you much
happy to share it!
Nice hangin' with you. God Bless You. Peace.
Yes, you said it beautifully we take it for granted, at least the ones who hasn’t traveled and seen other cultures and countries. I’ve been in so many countries while in the Army and saw the rights we have here they didn’t have… 😢
Traveling is a great way to see exactly how blessed we are here in America. Thank you for your service!!
I so much I want to say in this one comment. I'll keep it short by saying this was a beautiful way to spend my Sunday morning thank you Francesca.
Enjoy your Independence Day weekend!
Thanks for the reaction! I hope you also watch the Kentucky Choir singing the national anthem and whitney houston singing the nathem in 1991 , they're very iconic!
Great Job!!! loving the channel!!
God bless you and yours and many blessings from Texas!!
George Washington said it best and I live by that.. anybody that hates this flag and the United States can simply leave and not worry about it anymore.. I said what I said and I mean it and I don't apologize to anybody ever!!!
Damn! Great reaction and tell your Mother I said THANK YOU!
Thanks for your reaction... Cheers
Thank you for watching!

Thanks for sharing! First time I heard this story and felt it 🇺🇸
Just so you know this video is NOT a factual account. The after action report of Lt Colonel George Armistead is available online directly from the National Archives and it contradicts nearly everything in this video.
The most beautiful / important video on the internet ♥️🇺🇸
I was so glad that someone sent me the link to it!
Great video. You did great with one tissue. I'm a mess over here. Lol
