Well known and documented issue with the temp gauge itself. If you look around the internet, there is a quick fix for this (which I've done countless times) with a short strip of wire and a quick solder you're back in business with a MUCH more responsive and accurate "gauge." Nice looking car. Those are "Virgo" wheels (which will be stamped Germany or Norway) which are 15" as compared to the factory 14" steel wheels. Best thing about that car is the manual transmission. I think you need to check the sender unit for temp gauge or upgrade to a g.l.t. instrument panel with working gauges and tachometer as well. If the temp gauge is working you have a problem 🤔

Scarey looking but it's an issue with the temp gauge itself. Very easy fix if you use a short wire and soldering gun. I just do this IMMEDIATELY to any new 240 I get.
The black strip under the side windows was standard on late model 240's
As to the headliner, is that stain brown like, Turtle Wax has like a foam cleaner, it is in a blue can, I am using it on another car, you can do it two ways, you need a tooth brush, put some foam either on the headliner or a a piece of paper, and with the toothbrush, scrub the stain with the foam, then you can wipe it off, you will notice it, I have tried it on the visors, they had like a brown stain, and presto, it left it like new, as to the crack or cracks in the dash, Permatex has a vynil/ Leather repair kit, which will do wonders for those cracks, since it is like a line, and the other is not that bad, the kit has some filling solution, that you put in the crack, and then you can put a piece of color material supplied or since you have a straight line, just fill the crack up, as to the passenger headrest, they sell it, new or you could check the junkyards ,and get a second hand part, once that is fixed the car will look incredible, the headrest is the same one from 1986- till 1990, 👍👍👍👍👍👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Good Luck, once these minor details are taken care of, the car will look incredible, as to the temperature, it could.be the thermostat, or sensor,,since that is a B230, those will resolve that problem.

Not at all. Gauge issue. WELL KNOWN. Quick fix though.

240 gauges aren't accurate. It's not overheating, lol.
@@TheAwkwardBanana hmm. I have a 740 that did jump a bit. Sometimes works other times red and not work. I just disconnected and connected them like 10 times. Out at the engine heat reader. There was probably some bad connections. Now it have been working flawless since.
Is it stock , as in nothing has been done to it?

The lifters are not hydrualic.
Great Scooter, phenomenal turn radius, it could turn on a Dime and best gas mileage of any car I owned. Even better gas mileage than my wife’s 200,000 miled 1991 Toyota Corolla 😮 ABSOLUTE joy to drive 👍👍 like a Mexican Magic Carpet Ride !
