    I like the large compartment for the electrical cord. The locks you use are a good idea. Awesome.

    • @SR-qy6ul
      @SR-qy6ul 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It might be a good idea to replace that with a surface mount marine twist-lock. Then you'd have extra storage space inside, a watertight electrical connection, and no chance of an animal building a nest.

      @@SR-qy6ul Yes, I have to shove my cord in every time..and yes the critters can crawl in.

    Wow! What a pretty view you have at your home base! By the way, the state I live (FL) also has a stay-at-home order but I consider my camper a home-away-from-home therefore I'm still staying at home if I'm in my camper. Tomorrow we leave on another camp trip. Only state & county parks have closed. My favorite private campground is still open. So that's where we're headed. We can easily keep the 6-ft social distance requirement from anyone else at the campground.

    Wondering if you might know ... I have a Casita Spirit Standard. It has no holding tanks, no toilet facilities. At RV parks, how would I connect the pvc grey-water pipe under the rig that is the exit for my sink water, to a septic hose which then connects to the septic hole, since it is just a pvc pipe and not a grey water holding-tank connection. RV parks want everything to be tight. Thanks!

    I really enjoy your videos. Looks like were using the same jeep Grand Cherokee for towing. Unfortunately I do not have the full up Heavy Duty Tow Group option package (Tow Group IV I think). What is the towing capacity of your Grand Cherokee, and do you think I could tow it with a 3500 hundred pound rating? Oddly, I have the 7 and 4 pin wiring harness and Trailer Sway Damping. Perhaps the only thing I need is the transmission heavy duty coolant? Really appreciate your advice.

    • @RVAdventuresTV
      @RVAdventuresTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Grand Cherokee is rated for 6,500# towing capacity and a 650# hitch weight. Yes, the transmission cooling system may be all you need. I would check with your Jeep dealer to be sure. Thanks for watching.

    This maybe off topic but was wondering the sewer hose support you have in your Amazon list does it work well with your Casita. We have a 2019 spirit deluxe and was just wanting to get one that would not be to high. Thanks

    that's a lot of water weight on one side of the trailer - how do you adjust the weight distribution?

    • @RVAdventuresTV
      @RVAdventuresTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A full tank of fresh water adds 175 lbs. to the door side. The battery is located on the other side and it weighs about 50 lbs. so I store heavier items on the battery side to help balance it.

    Great video! Thanks for the good angles and well explained advice. Have my eye on getting a Casita at some point. They seem to be perfect in many ways. What Jeep is that, and are you happy with the way it pulls that RV?

    • @RVAdventuresTV
      @RVAdventuresTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have the Jeep Grand Cherokee, V6 engine with the trailer towing package. It does a great job, lots of power, great acceleration when needed and braking is great with the Prodigy Brake controller. No sway at all with Casita's standard sway bar attachment. Very happy with the setup.

      @@RVAdventuresTV
      Hey, thanks a bunch for the info! Yes, that Cherokee V6 sounds good. For a vehicle, I am considering a Dodge Hemi 1500, but that might be too much truck (or is it?!) I was thinking about it mainly in case of steeper than usual climbs and some dirt road drives. But I think that Jeep could cut it as well.
      And yes, from many accounts I think the Brake controller and the sway bars are a must have.
      I am about 2 years away from retiring, and just about setting up my YT channel too. Am getting a lot of encouragement from your videos and your style, Much appreciated!

  • @Colmep

    One more question: Do have a brake controller for your Grand Cherokee that you would recommend for the Casita?

    • @RVAdventuresTV

    What type of sway bar do you have. Did you install it yourself?

    • @RVAdventuresTV
      @RVAdventuresTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a Curt manual pressure sway bar. It was an option when we ordered the Casita and they installed it. Here is a link to the sway bar: amzn.to/3FKLRiu

    I thought you had a white hose.

    • @RVAdventuresTV
      @RVAdventuresTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I do for all hooking up at campgrounds. The fill of the water tank in this video was at my home and I use my standard hose there. We don't drink the water from the tank anyway so I don't have a problem with using my home hose to fill the tank prior to leaving. I do store the hose in the garage in-between uses and run water through the hose prior to using it.
