It’s so impressive how dedicated the staff is with all the different monkeys. This is absolutely my favorite part of the day when a new video is posted. ❤😊Thank you for sharing your work and the beautiful monkeys with us!!!! ❤❤❤
You would think in a country with as strong a government as Vietnam claims, forbidding the harming of primates should be easy to communicate to the populace. Sadly, no matter the country, this goal is rarely achieved because of human greed and ignorance.
One of the best things about this series regardless of it being years behind is that it will potentially encourage people like myself to research more and learn more about projects like the one in Vietnam. It's Father's day today so I get the blessing of being around family and loved ones but starting tomorrow I'm going to take a deep dive into these re population projects. I have to know more!! Lol 👍👍
I thought the purpose of the radio collars was to track where they go how far they go, they showed us on previous episodes what it looks like when they download the information then they would go to the are on foot and using drones to explore the area and make sure that it was safe and also checking food sources, and she said 3 of the 5 were radio collared surly all three collars hasn't fallen off, if they did they are designed that the team can retrieve them, since they are highly expensive. I'm just confused by what was said in this episode concerning the gibbons I hope they are all OK and together
Same. The success rate of releasing gibbons is low. I'm wondering if it can be done once the gibbons are use to being fed, like they don't know how to forage for themselves without intervention.
@@ChristinaTodd1970surely you've seen enough videos showing the "enrichment" the care staff does, this is done in ways the animals stay active but to also teach them how to forage for food. They aren't fed like a dog, just put food in a bowl for the Gibbons to eat. Allison nor Marilyn would ever be slack in rehabilitating and releasing any primate if not sure they could survive on their own.
I am not familiar with these devices as far as how long they would be active or charged, for the lack of how to word this question. Do these tracking devices die out or do they remain active? Do you know?
The loris outdoor facility is great. What effort to provide for this very unusual prosimian, I never cease to be amazed at the efforts provided by the care staff. Thank you all.
Thought they could track w collars? What’s that mean for Ben? Poor thing was hungry and desperate on the ground and familiar w people. Sad how hard it is to rehab.
Again, surely you've seen enough videos showing the "enrichment" the care staff does, this is done in ways the animals stay active but to also teach them how to forage for food. They aren't fed like a dog, just put food in a bowl for the Gibbons to eat. Allison nor Marilyn would ever be slack in rehabilitating and releasing any primate if not sure they could survive on their own.
You need to watch more of these videos to get a decent grasp on life at the Viet Nam operation is helping to provide the gibbons with the skills they need to survive in the wild. And "rescue and rehabilitation" can't happen without humans. It's a delicate balance and for the most part, none of us amateurs should be second-guessing what the trained and very professional staff are doing.
The main problem isn't that there is a major issue about the Gibbons not being capable of actually foraging for themselves enough to keep themselves well fed or them not being capable of taking care of themselves and their babies after they've been rehabilitated and then released back in to the wild. The sole major main problem... is all of the freakin ●POACHERS & PRIMATE TRAFFICKERS● that keep illegally taking them from their natural indigenous habitats. Even straight out of Cat Tien Park.. which is •suppose• to be a "heavily patrolled & safe" Wildlife Refuge Park right next to Dao Tien Park where these particular Gibbons have just spent years being rehabilitated right before being released in to that "protected" Park... as well as most all of the other "protected" Primate Temple Parks & Forrests thoughout all other Asian countries, too. Because Wildlife poaching, smuggling & trafficking regarding all primate species is now a rampant multi-million dollar business in almost •all• Asian countries even though it is •ILLEGAL• for any private individual to ever even have possession of a primate for ANY reason... much less for anyone to ever actually be keeping one as a "pet"... in all except for only THREE Asian countries (Malaysia, Singapore & Indonesia- where Primate Permits •ARE• actually available in ●ONLY THESE THREE● Asian countries to •only• those ppl that can prove that they CAN meet ●ALL● of the very strict requirements & policies that would enable them to get a Primate Permit to then •LEGALLY• be able to keep a primate as a pet in only these 3 countries... after a very thorough investigation & at least 3 prior home studies have already been completed to first ensure that the ppl wanting a permit to legally be able to keep a primate can actually financially meet •ALL• of that primate's daily needs and requirements according to it's specific species for both it's dietary & healrh needs AND it's inside AND outside living & exercise/sunbathing areas). It is illegal in •ALL OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES• except for only these 3 above for any private individual to •ever• have possession of a primate of ANY species for any longer than it would take them to •immediately• contact their local police authorities or Wildlife Officials in order to report it aa required by already existing Asian Wildlife Laws if a primate WAS to ever actually be "found" or "abandoned" all alone without it's own mother or any other natal troop members anywhere around it. Which would normally be for less than only 2-24 hours that a person would ever be able to ●LEGALLY● still have temporary possession of ●ANY● primate of •ANY• species before those local authority figures could respond & finally arrive to take possession of it and get it to the nearest facility to LEGALLY be able to keep it. However-- ever since YT videos of newborn baby monkeys became very popular about 9 years ago??... the poaching, smuggling & trafficking of newborn infant baby monkeys of ALL indigenous Asian primate species... and even some from other African/South American/etc countries, too.... (some newly born babies less than only mere HOURS/DAYS old before they were stolen away from their mother and natal troop!!)-- has now become a major illegal activity, business and problem in almost •ALL• Asian countries where primates are now being illegally poached/smuggled/trafficked. Because literally THOUSANDS PER YEAR of these poor newborn baby monkeys are typically smuggled & trafficked all across Asia now so that ppl can use them in their YT videos for only a few short months... (normally less than only 2-6 months or so), to film for their (multiple) TH-cam channel content in order to financially PROFIT from all of these infant primates before they all eventually grow up too big for these vile despicable greedy ppl to be able to continue to so easily be able to control, manage & HIDE them anymore as these baby monkeys grow and get bigger. And they all also keep these baby monkeys for only as long as these ppl can still make money and profit off off the •poached & illegally kept• TINY little adorably "cute" newborn infant baby monkeys... before these disgusting ppl all either just outright KILL THEM when they grow too big before they finally get cought with having a baby monkey in their possession or these ppl will just toss these still very young baby monkeys away & dump them off like trash once all of these YT "Baby Monkey" channel primates ●ALL● finally grow up too big to be able to be of any more use and profit to these ppl any longer. And then it simply gets replaced with yet ●ANOTHER● poached, trafficked and •ILLEGALLY KEPT• tiny little adorably "cute" newborn infant baby monkey (BIG MONEY MAKER) about every 2-6 months or so apart just like clockwork.

You would think with the monkeys having a monitor that they would leave them alone, as they can be tracked.

Allison is a force of nature! Dedicated for so many decades to these precious primates!
I can't help but think the older orangutans in one way or another told the young one to "get up there and toss the food down youngin" 😁

My husband served in Vietnam so we aren’t as enamored of that area, but it’s good to see how the people have rebuilt and survived.

So poachers are stealing animals from Dao Tien?? It’s like fighting a losing battle!!!

It doesn't look like the gibbons can survive in the wild once they're humanized but being fed. I hope I'm wrong.
