First Ascension video that is quality. Nice fresh take to a board game review.

The Void Initiate is a good card. It helps to thin your deck, costs only 1, and if you have it that means your opponent is not thinning their deck. Once you get something better to thin, like Shade of the Black Watch or Arbiter of the Precipice you can dump the Void Initiate. I find that doing everything I can to ensure that my opponent has all 10 starting cards the more likely I am to win.

Void initiate is good if you buy it on the first turn, ie. you open up with 4 apprentice, you use 3 to buy maybe a mystic and i would at this point buy void initiate. The card has great diminishing returns though. Each apprentice is good in its own right with the mechana one being the weakest I think. lifebound initiate is an alright later game buy if you KNOW you can cycle through your whole deck, at that point its 1 honor a turn, also life bound tends to work together so with the witch shes better. next is void, and the best is arha initiate. imho.

I've been playing a ton of Ascension lately. You hit it right on the head with Muramasa. This thing wins games. It's not even close. Yggdrasil staff is amazing too. Mostly because if you have a few runes leftover and don't want to but the crap in the center row you get 3 honor. Nice video. You nailed everything!!

Ascension content is sparse on TH-cam, hope you do more. Realms Unraveled is a fantastic expansion for those with a Magic background.

Realms unraveled is my absolute favourite, so much player power! For everyone!

This wasn't what I was looking for(was looking for a bit higher level strats) but I sticked around because it was a good video.
Dunno if you're still making these since this one is 4y old, but if not then you should! (:

The ultimate question is : even with the strategies you have laid out, is the game still the most random of the deck-builders out there?

Man this game is the best deck building game out and I’m talking about with all the dlc it’s fucking lite🤟🏾

I agree 100%. We always play in two players here and to "fix" that, we increase the amount of crystals from 60 to 90

Noob player here - thanks for the quality video! It'd be interesting to hear your thoughts about priorities - when dealing with a lot of new cards, what takes precedence? Drawing cards? Thinning out? Runes or power first? And what about shards? Thanks muchly!

In CotG you can win a lot of games by just buying Heavy Infantries every turn with all available runes unless a hero that gives power is available. Every turn kill any monster and keep attacking the Cultist. You can usually end the game before your opponent can buy enough cards to win. Of course if NO monsters come to the center row you are likely to lose.

Interesting....I never buy Arbiter of the Precipice, and neither does the AI
I don't like it because (I think) you are forced to banish a card

You def want to banish all your Initiate & Militias ASAP to get as dense, efficient a deck as possible. GLHF
