    I am from Singapore and visited this park 10 years ago! I even bought a guide/picture book at the shop on-site! Loved all the sculptures as they were evocative. I would have spent half a day there scrutinising every single one, but the tour bus had to go. I really miss Norway and Sweden!

      Hi C K! Glad to hear you had a chance to visit the park, and that you enjoyed it so much. I’ve probably been there over 100 times but still find it very interesting

    Thank you Pal for making this film. I was so touched by your words and sentiments. How beautifully sympathetic to the times we are in. I loved the music, haunting and soulful.

    Thank you for sharing the beauty of this amazing park. It's amazing to think about the time and thought of each sculpture to emulate a different emotion and feeling. So impressive!

    What a beautiful video of such a wonderful park. I have not heard of Gustav Vigeland so thank you for introducing me to such a prolific artist. He had created an array of beautiful moving art. I will never forget his contribution. As you said he depicts the whole range of emotions which moved me just watching it. I can imagine how powerful those emotions must be to see this creative art in person. Wonderful refuge and reminder of life's many struggles and how all cultures can relate to these universal themes of existence. Thank you so much Pal. Love your videos. Alex

      Thanks for your nice comment Alex! This park must be one of my favorite sights in all of Norway. There's also a really good Vigeland museum next to the park. It's situated in what was his studio.

    Thank you Pal for your tour of Vigeland Sculpture park. I was here once in the summer of 1959 and you have motivated me to dig out my slides and get them digitized! Thank you.

    This is a great video and brings back amazing memories of walking through this park and seeing these beautiful sculptures. As you said Pal, "a tribute to humanity" during these challenging times.

    Pal...what a timely visit to one of the most emotionally triggering sculpture parks. All the 'feels' come to the surface while walking in the midst of these profound granite creations. We remember not only seeing, but feeling the 'life' in each one. Thank you.

    Wonderful commentary. Loved this park on your tour summer 2018. Wondering if I missed a sculpture of a pregnant women. He so brilliantly portrayed life from infant to dying old people. Did I miss that? I am a retired obstetrics/ women’s health nurse and especially was looking for this in his sculptures. You and looking good and best wishes to you.

    • @norwaywithpal
      @norwaywithpal  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again for your comment Leona. I'll see if I can find the pregnant woman next time I'm there. Life from infant do death is portrayed in the circle of life depictions surrounding the fountain. There is a little glimpse of it in my video. Also the boy standing on the bones in the last clip is from that circle.

    Wow! THANKS. I actually swam in the moat around that fountain as a 6 year old, back 57 years ago. Dad worked as glass engraving artist on Karljohans Gate and we, MUM and I would catch tram into city walk to the park have lunch in summer I would splash around in the fountain. 😃😎

    I sadly cannot say that Sinnataggen was easy to spot... that makes me so angry! Is it one of the children at (07:03) in the video? Sarcasm may not come through here well, but I am not really angry. It was nice to see some sunshine in Oslo, Tusen takk!!

      Take a closer look at (4:10) .. and he is still sinna(angry).... (and how did you link to a specific time in the video) you must be an advanced TH-cam-user ;)
