Of course it is natural!! Young monkeys are held by moms in trees just to keep them safe…. he doesn’t have a mom … even wild monkeys fall from trees. Moms are their protectors, not just food source and the teacher/role model of the life skills that they need to master.
There is so much knowledge that the mom and family teach and show the babies. Ricky really got screwed, he was taken very soon or at birth and then put back out to the jungle with him knowing no one.

They poach infants to make home movies and once the monkeys get about this age they dump them because no one wants to watch a bigger monkey get a diaper change, drink a bottle, or get a bath, or any of the other crap they film. they dumped them with no social or survival skills. I believe they drugged this monkey. Monkeys don't fall asleep like that. They are born to live in the trees and when they do sleep they are still semi alert. They don't just behave that way. These VO's are the ones dumping these monkeys to make room for all the new poached infants on their channels. They aren't just good sumaritans out to feed helpless monkeys. It's why the monkeys are so comfortable with them. They all owned some of them and are a group of friends so the monkeys know them.

Then they start to walk around and play with other monkey's and they learn the troop rules, what to eat, what is acceptable and what isn't. They are born looking for moms nipple so they can nurse and the cling to their mom with all they got. There are good informational shows on PBS and national geographic. I have seen specific macaque shows on Animal planet. These video's are horrible.
