Chicks usually can survive one to three days after being hatched without needing or wanting food and water. They are overnight shipped and are treated completely different compared to a normal box.

Setbacks? The vast majority of mail is picked up, sorted, and delivered on time for very little cost to the citizen. It’s a utility, not a business. The USPS is far from perfect and definitely taken for granted.
I live in Pennsylvania. Two days ago, I mailed two letters to two of the teachers I had in elementary school, one was a guidance counselor and one was a music teacher. They still haven't written back yet. They're probably still outraged at me.
@The Lord Of Nothing It's because I want those beautiful people to know that I shouldn't have said that to them. The music teacher is 70 years old and he retired in 2014, but I still feel extremely guilty for calling him evil, which he was none of. He cared about me very dearly and I let him down big time. I lied to the guidance counselor about Daddy abusing me, which he never did. Daddy will love me forever. The guidance counselor still works at the elementary school I attended from 1st grade through 4th grade. The guidance counselor believed my lies and I let her down big time. Daddy had a stroke 10 years ago because of the heart problems he was born with. I will be patient and wait for them to respond. The guidance counselor is 58 years old. I feel so stupid and guilty for lying to the guidance counselor and calling the music teacher evil, even at 26 years old.
Those poor little babies! I cannot stand that people are allowed to mail living creatures. They should be transported like human children would be: under supervision!
animals are mailed in overnight or one day shipping. (one day shipping for reptiles and bugs). the chicks are fine and will be in transit for a few hours in an airconditioned truck. how else are you going to transport animals? if you did it yourself it would be the same way
@@crygosphere your name says it all. Go do that. And no, it wouldn’t be the same if I did it myself cuz I’d be there the whole time and I’d know how to handle whatever life I’m in the care of. Go ship your kid in a box and then come tell me how safe and humane it was for him/her.
why are people out there sending baby birds by mail like that 😭
They used to mail kids through the USPS at one point until it got banned lmfao. Also they're usually overnighted so they are usually fine.
They do have a bird on their logo...
Farmers can buy chicks and have them shipped. They are shipped overnight, kept warm. The have enough food and water to later 24 hours.

I work at a p&dc in bakersfield. We send out full grown roosters, chicks even cremations.
I always order my baby chicks!! The post office calls me when they get them!
Yes I've seen that ducklings and grasshoppers & crickets. Its a whole lot of wtf. But those do get extra care compared to other packages

Two days ago? Be patient! It takes 3 days at least. Plus, why are you expecting them to write back instantly?

During Covid so many birds died, cause they let the boxes sit! Priority should have been given to the living. Those workers know who they are. Karma.
