- A full face makeover for #olderwomen using #drugstoremakeup. In this simple, natural looking makeup tutorial, I demonstrate some classic makeup techniques garnered from my forty year career as a makeup artist. Being over 60 years old myself, I understand some of the challenges of finding makeup that works for mature skin types. I went makeup shopping and found products at a reasonable price that look great, and perform well. Take a look at the before and after and let me know what you think!

There are so many older women who have TH-cam make-up tutorials and they pile on the make-up so all one sees is, “MAKE-UP!!” But Kerry-Lou applies hers so lightly that her make-up application enhances her looks-it doesn’t make her look overdone. Lovely.

December 31, 2019. My 5th year with cancer, haven't worn makeup for several years. Sort of gave up. But, after watching this, think 2020 will be small change in my thinking.

You are beautiful? I am 77 and used to wear more makeup than I do now. My eyes are very hooded and my eyelashes have become so sparse. I used to wear mascara all the time and now I can’t. Eye makeup looks to heavy on me. I love the look you created.
I've used concealer as my eyelid primer for almost 20 years. Works like a charm.
Yes, before there was such a thing as lid primers! So many of them are thick and dry.
Without a doubt. My foundation, NEUTROGENA, goes everywhere including eyelids over my moisturizer. 63 is coming up fast, January 2020 to be exact and I still don't want a heavy makeup or powder. NEUTROGENA is a good foundation that evens out the skin tone, and is a good base for blush, what have you and 21st century EVerything, the brushes are fantastic!

Does the concealer cover the fine lines under the eye?
This lady is already super beautiful, so she does not really have to wear a lot of makeup. But, I am glad she shows you can rock affordable makeup at any age.

Drugstore lines that include women of color or are specifically for women of color really can deliver a lot of color. The lipsticks come in all shades with a lot of intensity and make great colors or stains. Love the lip glosses! Same for eyeshadows.

Beautiful! I'm 62 years old and in the last year I've suddenly become obsessed with eye shadow. I used to just slap on foundation and mascara and go but for whatever reason I've become a teenager again when it comes to makeup. This video is SO helpful! I've had a hard time finding a bronzer that looks good on my skin and I'm going to try the Rimmel for sure.

I used to buy expensive makeup. Now I use grocery store makeup, usually with a coupon, often paying $3 for lipstick! If the color doesn't work, it doesn't go in my makeup drawer- no guilt! Thanks for making this video. You are beautiful!

I'm 57 and i love to wear make-up that looks natural. You nailed it. I went to Amazon and noticed that the products are much cheaper than Walgreens and CVS. So ladies go to a physical store and pick your colors and then go on line and buy from Amazon.

After Chemo is over and my hair starts to grow back, that cut is what I want for a while! Just for while it thickens up. I LOVE it!!!

My hair was the best ever when it grew back after chemo. I had always coloured my hair and when it grew bay it looked white. It was wavy and I had never loved my hair so much. Got heaps of comments on it. Unfortunately the curl only lasted 6 months but I have kept the grey hair and keep it very short and still get compliments. Sure you will be the same. Good luck
Mine grew back in tiny little curls after chemotherapy. It only lasted that way for about a year, but it was great cause didn't have to do a thing to it!
That is exactly what I did too! Fully embraced my new grey cropped look and it was sooooo easy to maintain, till I got bored and dyed it purple. :) 8 Years on and it's back to being a raggy mop, but just watching this vid has made me think I might crop it off by choice. The eye makeup really brought out the green in your eyes. The makeup look isn't overly done & is quite flattering.
It was so refreshing to find a make-up tutorial for mature women that really makes sense. I'm in my early 60's and have been mostly homebound for years due to several chronic illnesses. I'd given up on makeup, but missed the pleasure of feeling like I really looked good as I worked and ran about my day. It finally occurred to me that I could still use makeup and look good just for myself, to increase my own sense of well-being and joy, even if I wasn't going anywhere. I started looking online at drugstore makeup, a necessity on a limited income, and was surprised at all the new formulas and colors. But, what to choose and how to use it on my older face? I looked at a few videos, mostly younger women and a few with older women, but they all piled on tons of make-up and used lots of very expensive products. Then I found this video with Kerry-Lou. Just what I needed. You're absolutely beautiful and the make-up looks very natural and lovely without using excessive amounts. I am so looking forward to trying your advice and plan to watch all your videos. Thank you!

I use 1. Australian natural Placenta Serum and Moisturizer cream 2. Placenta B.B cream, 3. Mineral Loose powder ( very little amount) 4. Pressed foundation ( touch). I am 55, but after using the placenta products, all my winkles were gone. I buy them from Amazon. People say I look like 25. I used them for 1 year, and I don’t need to go to the skincare place anymore. Placenta is amazing. It is the best for the skin treatment.

I've heard a lot of great things about the fit me concealer, but I really like Nyx. Estee Lauder double wear, according to Wayne Goss, is hands down the best foundation ever. I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to it. I use Revlon colorstay. For mature skin I was told setting spray is better than powder(although rcma powder is very fine, it's the best setting powder ever). There's one called"slay" that's good. Also, eyebrow gel with fibers in it is really good for sparse hair. There's a primer by maybelline called baby skin, it's amazing, you should try it! Just a couple tips in case anyones interested. Steph, Thanx for taking time to share your favorites, I will certainly try these...I take 1 tsp or 1 Tblsp of olive oil first thing in AM before my coffee...noticeably helps my dry skin...
Upon your recommendation I bought the Ben Nye Setting Powder and am so glad I did! At age 50 I have been having my makeup start to settle into my undereye wrinkles in a very unflattering way. I have searched for a couple of years for another powder and this is by far the best I have tried. No more caking. It also does not leave my face looking too matte and full of makeup. Thank you so much!
I just stumbled across this video and am so glad I did! You are just darling, and I love how you apply all makeup, not just a little mascara, blush, and lip gloss like so many "older" women do! You're a rock star! I've used Mary Kay products for almost 30 years....still like them, but I'm willing to give the drug store lip liner and lipstick a try!

Very nice. I enjoyed your tutorial. I have used that mascara for many years. It’s my favorite go to I like the mascara, I like the brush. I’ve tried other mascaras but never care for them so much. Either the formula wasn’t something I liked or the brush. Something I’ve done is when my mascara is done, I save the brush and wash it and have a few of them now. I use them like you use the disposable ones. I also actually apply my mascara using them. Then I never have to much on my brush 😃
I loved your tutorial. I'm 72 and am still learning new things. Budget concerns have now entered into my skin routine. I do like Rimmel and am anxious to try the Fit foundation. Thank you!

Just turned 53...noticing changes with makeup and applying it. But my biggest problem is all the products out there are so overwhelming! Love that you take the guess work out. I would love to hear your opinions on "best" makeup regardless of price, expensive and inexpensive.

I am an Indigenous woman. My mother walked on at 84 and her skin was gorgeous. We tend to look at lest 20 yrs younger. A blessing!

I've been using drug store makeup for years... I actually prefer it over more expensive brands. I think of this makeup as you would an artists palette. I often mix the makeup with different shades to get a perfect tone for my skin color. I always use sunscreen before applying makeup. I am 71 years old and I am often complimented on my skin and asked what my secret is. The secret is sunscreen, and I have been using it since my 20s. I love the way you have applied the makeup... I apply mine in much the same manner. I also thin the makeup down with to achieve a more natural look. I use a gel moisturized for thinning. For me, I apply it more makeup over my eyelids, as it helps to "hold" the eye color when your eyes start to droop. A light touch and less makeup are always better for older women. I love your hairstyle!!! I have subscribed to your channel! You are beautiful!
Making a list of the colors and brands used for a quick copy would be helpful. Newly subscribed and enjoying the industry natural looks. I’m seventy one and have left the realm of hair color too. I had to convince my hairdresser but she raves to her customers how great it looks

0:57 Those arias show the foundation the most. If you have this trouble too, you can dab with a brush on these places so it will go right into your skin instead of being visible on your skin. Great video.

I like it. I have sensitive eyes and rarely use eye liner as my eyes feel irritated after a few hours. I only wear it for short times like church or concert. Also, I have droopy eye lids and put light brown shadow on those areas. It seems to help. Your bronze and lip tips are helpful. thank you.

I happened to be looking for a beauty product for my new daughter in law, and found your videos. I absolutely love you and your spectacular hair color. I use to wear makeup, and in fact had been a beauty consultant when I was in my 20's and early 30's. But since I retired, I have not really put makeup on and have thought about coloring m hair. But after seeing how young you look with silver hair, I have decided my dark blond, graying hair looks better than I thought. I love your eye brow coloring trick and lesson on tweezing. I’ve been looking for a woman my age with gray hair to show me how to look my best. Last year I was on chemo treatments that took every speck of hair from me. I always dyed my hair my natural colour and did so also because I was in my late 50s and not ready to be full gray. Well when my hair grew back it was of course gray. It’s now finally at a length to be able to do something with it. Everyone have told me not to colour my gray. My gray is just like yours in this video. Your style looks beautiful on you. When my eyebrows grew back I had no idea what shade to use to fill them in. I just recently found a similar colour to what you used here and you made me feel so good about my shade with gray hair. Another wonderful video, Kerry-Lou! Missed it when it first came out....I commented you as I had beat cancer and my hair had grown in and it was exactly the colors of yours, lighter in the front and darker silver in the back! Like you, I am fortunate to have small, close-set ears and no double chin! Sad to say, although the cervical cancer is gone, the small cell lung is back and I have begun chemo again. Unfortunately, my lovely silver locks are gone again. Fortunately, I've always been able to rock hats and own many...and in the evening, wear a wig exactly like the new hair I lost. I used Estee Lauder's complete line for years, starting at age 16 with Swiss Performing Extract. Always bought the line because products are usually produced to enhance the others. Naturally, with the increasing (and often outrageously so) I sought alternatives). I use Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair products, Hyaluronic Acid, and their liquid super gentle face washing gel. They WORK! Revlon Age Defying Liquid foundation in "Early Tan" matches my ivory complexion perfectly! I use their Age Defying Powder, sparingly to seal. I will be trying the Maybelline concealer you recommended. Will keep you posted as to my progress and when my hair begins to return. All prayers are deeply and most gratefully appreciated. Nice to see these videos for mature women! I am 61 and have had to "re-learn" how to use make up as my skin has matured. I love the natural look as opposed to layering your face like a cake. I use all these product lines and nice to see a tutorial with someone who is fair like me to get an idea of what the outcome will look like. I love the fact that drug store makeup is being used. It's affordable and this is what I always go for.

I am 71 and grateful for this video. I am fighting looking .....like something the cat dragged in, so this video is perfect for my needs and my budget! I have brushes but never knew how to use them! so thanks for the lesson on that too. One question: I have bags under my eyes now that never go away....what to do?

I felt that there was not much at all that was going to make me look nice. Better yes, but still not attractive. You have given me something worth more than anything . HOPE. I just discovered you a couple of days ago and wanting to grow out my hair and let the gray grow in it’s motivational seeing how gorgeous you are. I do use Ilea products and love all your videos but only use cruelty free.

I honestly do think that WET N WILD is a product developer, under wraps, because I hve seen and used their products that were followed up by other brands and W&W stopped the product. They hve SOME good stuff and SOME bad stuff, but you don't know until you try them and their items are interesting.
Cruelty free is so important. Hard to understand why these tutorials never mention these products. The women appearing in the videos seem self absorbed and thoughtless of the suffering. I don’t get it.
I only buy products that are cruelty free, ones that don't experiment on animals which is a horrid thing to do, nor would I ever wear fur as they are skinned alive for this and this is one of the worse things in the world to do to an animal. Good makeup products are out there that are cruelty free so google it and you will know what products NOT to buy and what products to buy.
I think your makeup looks absolutely natural and gorgeous! I do wish that cool undertone makeup artist would show some warm colors in the brands that you are using so that we can see them. You do not need to put them on your face of course because you're cool but just holding them up and showing that there are warm options in those products would be very helpful

Great video - thank you for affirming that women don't need a hundred expensive products and half an hour to put makeup on. And also thank you for affirming that black looks great as long as it's done right for your face/ taste and coloring. Some of these tutorials are forty minutes. Im loving videos for older more mature women. I am 74 and very fair. I have a hard time finding foundation that matches my skin without making me look too white. Im going to try the Maybelline Fit Me soon.
I'm 60 with dry skin and the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth lays so nicely on my skin. They also have a pretty decent selection of shades so you should be able to find one that suits your skin tone. :) If you have an Ulta store near you, they usually have testers available of this line.

Great video. A couple of tips really stuck. First, getting the clumps out of the mascara wand using the disposable brush is excellent. And, using alcohol to apply dry brow gel. Too bad I already through my old one out.
