But although Warners cast Rex Harrison to play his Henry Higgins role in the movie, they did not cast Andrews because they believed that she did not have enough star power for this movie. Fortunately, Walt Disney disagreed . . . and the rest is history.

I had a difficult OPERATION. I had been in the hospital for more than 30 days, then finally allowed to come home.
My first day home the SOUND OF MUSIC came on. I knew I was still quite ill. I knew I was in fact dying. Watching this movie kept me calm. Hours later, I realized I had to go to the ER.
What I most remember about that day is the song...
