Windin Falls - Gourka Rd, Butcher's Creek

Windin Falls has got to be one of the most spectacular places on the Atherton Tablelands! It is located half an hour's drive from Malanda near the start of the Mt Bartle Frere walking track. There are two tracks to access the falls, with the Gourka Rd entry being a longer but easier walk and the Old Cairns Track Rd entry being shorter and more difficult and often in not as good condition. The Gourka Rd entry is a 5.6km, hour and a half track and is well maintained and fairly easy going. There are a few roots here and there but on the whole it is very smooth. Some of the steeper sections, particularly as you approach the falls, may challenge less able bodied people but little fitness is required for this walk. Really, apart from being in isolation, there is no excuse to not visit these falls. I hope you enjoy the video!
