- Son of Monsterpalooza has returned to the Burbank convention center! This year filled with awesome guests like Director Sam Raimi of Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Spiderman! Vernon Wells from The Road Warrior and Commando! Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira, Linda Blair and so many more. Amazing vendors with some very unique items. The Thriller exhibit. Plus so much more. Enjoy the video, like comment and subscribe!!
Fun as always.. 🤙!
Vernon Wells' stories were hilarious.. 😂
Thanks! Yeah I’m glad his audio came through. I was enjoying all his stories. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
The pricing is crazy. They need to figure something out because I know a lot of the guests lost out on money because of there pricing. One guy like you said had an addition for everything it really made me feel like they were trying to rip me off. More for quote, more for picture and more for what ever a premium item was. But if your a smaller character and charging almost as much as the star your going to miss out on money.
Exactly!! Character name? More money, premium item? More money. If some of the guests were $40 and a free picture I believe they would have done so much better
@@Fonso13 honestly if some of these prices stay the same I’m gonna start bartering. Lol.
@@JTpopCULT no kidding huh lol. How much for just your first name? No last name 😆
Son of Monsterpalooza Burbank! Sam Raimi! Very cool that you got to meet him and a photo with him!🎉🎉Great interaction with Vernon.🤘🏽
Cool to see you interact with some of the vendors.
Great video Fonso! Keep up the great content Sir.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you sir!!
Ya prices are definitely getting astronomical at these convention. Its getting to the point where its no longer fun to collect.I never knew that they did figures for Mad Max.I know that they just released funko pops for it
Absolutely. That’s exactly how I feel now. Yeah I didn’t either until I saw two figures of Mad Max at my friends booth a long time ago. I’ve always wanted to add Vernon’s signature on my WEZ figure. He’s such a badass character! Thanks for the comment.
Awesome that you got to go to tia and past events bro maybe I’ll see you out there next year
Vernon Wells is the man! Disapointing about Mekhi Phifer not the right impression one would wanna make for his first convention.
Vernon is the absolute best! I always enjoy meeting him. That was Mekhi’s first con? I didn’t know that. He was smiling every time I walked passed him.
How much was elvira this time around?
Thanks for watching. I believe she was $80
Anyone know the name of the company at 24:43?
Great video! You got some other good interactions despite the no camera restrictions. Super random, but I love that Vernon Wells accepts all major credit cards. 😂 Respect.
🤣 😆 its smart honestly. He made my day and I could listen to his stories for hours. He’s the man! Thanks for watching & leaving a comment 😃🙏🏽
How come u didn't get to talk to the thriller girl Ola Ray...I believe she was in the thriller exhibit
She was there at the exhibit and I told myself to go back there and meet her. I got so busy I forgot to go back 😅
Brilliant video matey, loved it agree about prices are getting too out of hand now. Same here in the UK.
Thanks David! It really is. Extra fees of premium items or quotes is just ridiculous. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment.
People are getting greedy at these conventions, i understand they gotta make money but it’s like there’s a limit to how much I’m willing to spend for someone’s signature. There’s times where I come across the actors signatures going for less on eBay than at these cons.
Yeah I understand some aren’t working anymore, but to charge extra for personalisation. Or for a quote or a premium item. That’s just absurd.
@@Fonso13 couldn’t agree more with you, I usually stay away from guests that charge extra for stuff like that. Feels like a huge middle finger to fans even tho we’re the reason why these cons stay in business.
@@Westcoast10 exactamundo 💯
Even tho I’d already boughten a ticket I basically forced myself to get I kind of didn’t really even wanna go I just felt pooped out. Like you said con after con after con I’m glad after the Carpenter signing next week there’s a bit of a break. I also really just wanted the SC cast I didn’t care much for Sam or Elvira even tho I would’ve liked to I couldn’t convinced myself to spend the money.
Exactly right. You know how exactly where I’m coming from. You’ve been to all the con’s I’ve been and it’s been fun but also tiring.
And some cons mainly the staff have left a sour taste in my mouth like do I even wanna buy a ticket for next time. Like some people really get a major ego boost like the celeb is cool but the person helping kind of makes me wanna go should I just get my money and not get my stuff signed cuz I don’t wanna anymore.
@@ortega949 yeah that’s a real bummer. Also the high prices.
That too but like I was straight up getting mad gossip from Felissa’s handler about the way everything was being handled with Linda and Elvira this weekend. I told her and him that even tho I love what Nick from Fearsome Figures is going with Creepie the staff has not been the best to the point now where even if creepie gets that big name is it worth going.
@@ortega949 in your opinion, what’s been your best convention and best experience at a con?
I had an absolute blast at son of monsterpalooza. Possibly my favorite convention I've been to so far. Highlights for me were definitely meeting the raimi bros and the cast of sleepaway camp. The latter had tons of energy and were overall super happy to be there. Got a poster signed by the whole cast too! Sam Raimi gave me great advice on how to be a good filmmaker, saying that you should practice everyday to perfect your craft. Ted had a really cool anecdote about the Beatles as well. I also got a pic with Spencer Charnas while waiting in line for Sam Raimi. Really cool guy too!
I also saw you guys walk past while in line for Sam Raimi. I tried to say hello, but I guess I wasn't loud enough lol. Hope you guys had a great time!
We sure did! That’s so awesome! I’m glad you had a great time. Sorry I didn’t hear you I have terrible hearing. Too many rock concerts in my youth 😆 Next time for sure. Sam and Ted were so nice. Highlight for me was definitely talking to Vernon Wells. Love The Road Warrior 💀🤘🏽Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Congratulations 🎉on the wedding Monster Squad 🤘
hey man ! Great video ! I met ya on Saturday ! I saw you guys in line for your first auto session but decided to wait till I saw ya out in the hall. Finally caught ya near the outside edge and we spoke about how I love your interactions and how you draw the convo from everyone ! Next time I’m grabbin a pic with you I was kind of wondering where Scott was since you were alone lol
Yes I remember! Thanks for stopping me and saying hello. Yeah Scott was still on his way to the con. He arrived fashionably late 😅 It was so cool meeting you and for sure next time let’s get a picture together! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 🤘🏽💀
Great interview with Vernon Wells!! Sam Raimi’s security was very strict on Sunday too. He would make you put your phones away when you got inside the room. I agree these celebrities are charging too much. I blew my budget on 3 Sam Raimi autographs and 1 Devon Sawa combo 😞
Congratulations to your friends/family that got married on Friday the 13th!! That’s so BADASS!! It’s even cooler you were the one who ordained the marriage!! AWESOME Video 🤙🏼
Frank you rock sir! Same scenario on Saturday. The moment we walked into the room we were told to put our phones away. That’s a lot of money on just two guests. Yeah what a perfect date to get married on and I was honored to be the one to marry them. Thank you Frank! Thanks for watching & leaving a comment.
Just wanted to say this was my first Horror convention and your (and other Monster Squad members) videos were really helpful for preparation in terms of having the right gear as well as what proper etiquette looks like at these events. I actually passed by you guys, but I didn't want to disturb any filming that was happening. I was probably 6 or 8 people behind you in the room where Sam Raimi was signing, and oh man, are you right about how it was a super close call before getting that cutoff for the photo op. I was hoping to catch up after the signing, but I saw you guys talking to Veron Wells (super nice guy), anyway, since I didn't get the chance I was wondering what Raimi might have said when he saw your Evil Dead 2 soundtrack?
I’m so glad our videos are very helpful. We are just fans and continue to learn as we go along. Sam wanted to know my name and asked how I was doing. He asked me where should I sign. He thought it was pretty cool. Thanks for watching and next time say hello! Thanks for leaving a comment.
Hey Fonso, it was great meeting you and talking to you towards the end on Saturday and thanks for the shout out in the video. I’m the one from Las Vegas and we were talking about how crazy Bill Johnson’s pricing were. I’ll see you at the John Carpenter signing next weekend! Take care man.
Yes of course dude! Thanks for stopping me and saying hello. I will definitely see you next weekend. Take care and thanks for watching & leaving a comment 💀🤘🏽
Great video and channel. I spy the awesome FX artist Norman Cabrera on the left of video at the 1:39 1:40 mark.🤘🏻
Thanks and Great eye! While I was editing I said to myself “Hey it’s Norman!” We were so focused to get to Sam’s line 😅 😆
Always enjoyed Commando..thats so cool you met Vernon Wells....
Commando and The Road Warrior we’re constantly playing on my old vcr 📼 Vernon is such a nice guy.
That Guillermo del Toro fact was cool! He's a favorite as well. As for the pricing...I assume because of the SAG strike those actors are still struggling so they needed to up their prices to help.
I heard Guillermo say that in an interview once. He’s an absolute Legend!
@Fonso13 I cannot wait for his version of Frankenstein
Hey Fonso, I really enjoy your videos.
Anyways, I have a con story to share about pricing. Not sure if you’re into wrestling, but I went to a wrestling convention several years ago, and Marty Jannetty was there. Nobody was in his line, and I wanted him to sign my Hasbro figure of him. His vendor was like “he will sign that for $40”. I told him I’ll pass. Then he said “ok, he’ll do it for $30.” I again said I’ll pass. He then dropped it to $20, which I agreed to. But he told told me not to tell anyone, because he couldn’t give everyone that deal. Again, nobody was in his line….😂
Oh wow that’s hilarious. Poor Marty. Yeah some guests just have to come to the realisation that they are not that huge of a star that they used to be. I remember meeting Virgil for the first time and walked up to his table. I just wanted to say hi and he kept telling me he would sign anything and I felt pressured to buy something 😆 I didn’t and just walked away. Nobody was in his line all weekend at Comic-Con.
Haha, I’ve met Virgil before, definitely a strange character. It was just hard to justify $40 for Marty, because at that same con Harley Race was signing 2 autographs and taking a picture for $50.
I know $100 might seem like a lot, but it’s Sam freaking Raimi. I’d love to have him on my Evil Dead poster. There is a big difference in Sam Raimi and Gale Weathers cameraman 😂
@@atDADof3 yes! Thank you! You know exactly where I was coming from. Yeah had to get Sam! He never does cons down here so I had to meet him. See $50 for two autos and picture is perfect.
I remember when everyone was $20 long time ago. great video
Man the good ol days right!?!? Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment. Much appreciated 🙏🏽
Another awesome video

Fonso, another great video brother!!
Thanks dude! You rock! Always leaving comments. I really appreciate it. Thanks for the support and enjoying the vids. 🤘🏽💀🤘🏽
@@Fonso13 Keep them coming brother!! And get the Squad out to the East Coast to visit Camp Blood!!
@@haywoodjablome6645 One day, The entire squad will be there!
@@Fonso13 That would be awesome. You guys will love it!!
Had a blast chatting with you guys. Scott still owes me a drive so I can surf some waves. Great video, keep em coming. Vernon Wells was great.
Bummer about the pricing, it's getting a bit rediculous how much guests are starting to charge even over here in Ireland and England. It's ok for the average attendee but for us avid convention go'ers it gets a bit pricey and you gotta start prioritizing. Great video no the less Alfonso especially after coming down from the high of Halloween 45. Keep up the great work guys!
Yup exactly. I would love to get more guests signatures and add to my collection, but at some point we have to just say no. I’m good 😂 It also didn’t help that I went to two different conventions the previous weekends. Thanks so much for the kind words. 🙏🏽 😃
I have been going to these conventions since 1978 , the last year or two I have been doing less and less , its just pricing me out .. planning on retiring next year , next year will be my last out at the cons .. Bill Moseley and Bill Johnson were charging $60 each in Las Vegas for Days of the Dead a few months back, I saw here at Son of Monsterpalooza they dropped their prices to $50 each , maybe they are getting the hint .
I think so cause honestly they had no lines. Bill was $70 for a combo… I just have to prioritize and decide who I really want to add to my collection. I’m ready to retire soon too 😆 when you have been collecting for so long now you pretty much have everyone you already want. So I get it. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. 🙏🏽
