I was asked to "Leave the building" by the building manager for saying that "I'm an African American". He said that I had offended someone and never said who had complained. This happened years ago while I was standing around the water cooler getting a drink with some fellow employees. I am a white South African whose parents, grandparents and I were born in South Africa, and now am a proud American. I am definitely an African American. I was so outraged that I walked out of the building but should have filed a complaint instead. Got another job but really wished that I had stood up to the bullies.
I'd say "let them be offended."
But ethnically speaking you're European; but in another sense, yes you're African American, based on where you've been. I don't think you should have been kicked out but just sayin.

I was a Registered nurse for 38yrs and the colour of a patient’s skin never entered my mind. I saw and treated all patients equally.

And is it like any word taken out of context, (being woke was an expression of being awake and aware) so it can mean anything the speaker chooses? Woke means controlling the content of our films, our books and what children learn in school. There will be nothing else but woke if we don’t stand united against it. It is a virus that has taken over minds and subverted culture. Fighting against woke means being awake to the control and where it will lead, and sometimes having to be brave as you might be the only person in a situation willing or able to say ‘no’, like JK Rowling, Douglas Murray, Jordan Peterson and others like them who live with the threat of violence hanging over them. I suppose being up to fighting woke is if you have the awareness and the stomach for it.

I completed nursing school in NY in 1984. I was taught (by mostly black teachers) that all patients are entitled to the same excellent care without consideration of their ethnicity.
Well it is a factor in medical care, but not because of racism, just because different races get different medical problems.

Well done, Ladies!! I am an artist, and I am currently doing a postgraduate course with a private art school. I am astounded by how much Woke views have overtaken the art world, but particularly art education. I was pulled a few weeks ago about the language I was using when describing a painting I did of a black friend. However, I am trying to work out what it was that I said that was considered racist. The most ridiculous thing was that there wasn't anyone in the group who was black or Asian. No one was offended except this activist, woke art teacher. I felt obliged to apologise because the course is important to me. Now, I have to watch what I say. And because I am a Christian, my art represents my faith, which I know is going to become a red rag to a bull!! Thank you all for your stand against this nonsensical ideology. Thank you, also for your views on the current Pro-Palistine marches and the absolutely diabolical behaviour that is not being addressed.

After nearly 50 years as a disciple of Jesus Christ, I have fought some pretty difficult battles. The time will come when I'm going to challenge this lady from a prophetic and a Biblical perspective, but the time is not right. I was just giving an example of how the woke movement is infiltrating just about every sector of society. Not all the art world is Woke. It is funny that the use of sexuality, gender ideology, nudity, and violent language and actions are acceptable, but a faith-based peaceful way is frowned upon.
I experienced it in 1999 at UCLA when i was shouted down in multiple classes for not agreeing with the narrative.
I had a southern accent, slim blonde with blue eyes from Oklahoma so i had a target on my back. I was referred to as white trash, trailer trash, etc.
I was told several times that my opinion was not valid bc i am white. The first big one was in a class that discussed writers "of diversity". One was Tyler Perry (well before his media empire) and i simply said i found his writing to be hackish, his characters one dimensional and that he was not a good example of black playwrights. There are some excellent black writers but his work was quite crude and on the nose.
Just my opinion. I have a right to that in a classroom.

I’m a muslim woman living in Europe and I think while most Muslims recognize the benefits they get from the protection of the left‘s all accepting ideology, a big part of the Muslim community also know they share values much closer to conservative Christians and would happily support them IF they didn’t feel the strong rejection right wing parties have against Islam. Also on that note, the conservative right‘s biggest issue at the moment seems to be uncontrolled mass migration and immigrants who commit crime disproportionally, and I would argue most well adjusted Muslims in Europe (by that I mean they are financially and socially beneficial to their local communities) would happily agree to any criminals being either punished by the law or deported. A rapist who encounters a vulnerable woman won’t care what religion she belongs to and any sane citizen recognizes it’s best to remove such an individual from public society, to give an example. Just my two cents since this seems to be a place where nuanced discussion is welcome ✌️

There was a recent comment in the Telegraph from a surgeon in London who stated that in just 12 months he had been made to attend no less than 22 lectures by different 'woke' activists when he could have been helping to both save, and improve lives instead.

73% of UK Doctors struck off the medical registry for doing bad things to patiants were from overses. The NHS is one of the biggest organisations who hire from overses. In 12 months, 2.6 billion was spent on clinical negligence claims. Who are the ones who need educating?
My husband was put in grave danger by his neurologist who was foreign & then again by a GP who too, was foreign. Thankfully his pharmacist called to warn him not to mix the prescriptions. This was their fault due to the language barrier, but the grave error that could have cost us dearly was brushed under the carpet. They are making excuses for these people & to complain is seen as the R word. Sick of this utter madness.

With the government 25% tax for claiming against a state agency claimants dealing with a case recently have lost around 55% all to the migrants and government that disfigured and disabled them for life.

Our doctors here go to the states because they are severely limited in what they can do by the government. It’s much greener pastures for them over the border. I’d imagine similar things happen in Europe.
Edit: it’s not just money. They can only see so many patients. Are told where they can work. Rely heavily on government grants for research, etc. Then there’s the fact that growing up privileged creates natural desire for something even better than that. It makes room for people who get to move somewhere they view as providing that same type of betterment.

On the subject of the protests, and this is more relevant to Americans but still very important to keep in mind, let's not forget that Palestine celebrated after 9/11. Over 3000 innocent lives were snuffed out and the Palestinians were dancing in the streets about it. Who in their right mind would ever support them? I'd say it's historical ignorance, but that wasn't even 30 years ago.

I’m an until now Labour voter, but I’ll be voting for Amy Gallagher in the upcoming London mayoral election as the ideas of critical race theory and the various manifestations of identity politics are so harmful to our society, our children and the right to freedom of speech that it has to take precedence over traditional party allegiance.

Anyone who knows anything about the nhs will find all of this quite tame.
I worked on an nhs ward 15 years ago and reported the senior nurse for bullying every member of staff on the ward, neglecting patients and abusing verbally some patients.
Guess who was the person forced out?
The union rep told me that if I take my case any further, the nhs will manufacture accusations of patient abuse against me and I will go to prison. They will make sure of it.
The next day, my matron told me that a patient had accused me of shouting at her and calling her smelly.
Another patient apparently accused me of being abusive to her but the patient didn’t know anything about it when other staff tried to get to the bottom of it.
As someone with long term conditions, the nhs gives me zero help even though I have asked so many times for help. I am told “no” every single time I ask for help.
Whenever I do see a consultant, they lie to me about my condition and the best treatment for it.
I am only well now because I did my own research, looking at what international experts say, and it’s completely the opposite of what the ten nhs consultants I have seen all say.
The nhs is corrupt from the bottom to the top.
My friend works for the NHS. I can't name them because it is exactly as you say. It is run by fools indoctrinated with a cult like mentality, that you wouldn't think credible for people who are supposed to be intelligent. The thing that worries them the most is the new recruits from abroad. They describe them as totally inept. They pointed me to clips on social media, where people from Nigeria are basically admitting doing exams for people to gain them medical certificates. These untrained people, with their certificates that they have no right to posses. Are now in our hospitals. You try complaining about anyone black in the NHS.
I'm truly disgusted & appalled at both your treatment and the despicable crimes of all involved. I know how these people close ranks, but that's horrendous. If ever I engage in conversations with anyone, I'm covertly recording it.
😳 I hope that you will get out of that toxic workplace. I was bullied at a former workplace. They did the exact same thing to me. I got very ill from the stress, which literally almost killed me. Nobody stood on my side. Luckily I found my dream boss and my dream job only a few years ago. That saved me.

In Uni a couple of years ago I was supposed to write a paper about systemic racism at the municipal level even if there was no evidence of it. I refused to write fiction and rather criticized the lack of intellectual objectivity in a peer reviewed paper we were supposed to base our understanding on.
They tried to fail me on papers worth 50% of my mark I got almost perfect on the rest of the course and walked out with an 81% which should have been a mark in the mid to high nineties. This was supposed to be a course in urban ecology a 'science' course. My fights with the TA and professor were totally worth it!
As a Yank, my personal opinion is that much of this WOKE-A-DOKE-RY was clearly cited by the UK band Ten Years After in their 1971 song, I'D LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD. The line where they talk about "Everywhere is Freaks and Hairies. Dy-kes and Fair-ees. Tell me, where is sanity?" really hits home here in the USA and the west!

I shudder when I hear Donald Trump described as Conservative. In his public life and his private life, he is the antithesis of conservatism.

Conservatives want to keep alive the good essence. A reactionary desire to maintain the status quo is better called: “Preservatism” because it is definitely not Conservatism. Many Tories (perhaps most) are not Conservatives.
Conservatives believe in classic rationality, common sense, science, and pragmatism, not in ideologically driven conclusions or fanaticism. Conservatives see that the distortion of public language is the mother of political tyranny, eg, where trans women (biological men) can claim to be lesbians.
Conservatives reject Plato’s ideal society, especially his philosopher kings.
Conservatives believe that abortion is essential in some circumstances and that sound decisions must take account of many factors including the welfare of existing children, not just the zygote or foetus. They believe that the conscience of the woman should be dominant and that people must be free to make decisions that they themselves would not make.
Conservatives believe that social perfection is impossible and that attempts to engineer it lead to tyranny. Conservatives put negotiation and diplomacy ahead of guns and bombs which are seen as a last-resort backup.
Conservatives reject multiculturalism because although a society can be multi-lingual or multi-ethnic or multi-racial, or multi-religious, it requires common, basic cultural norms to hold people together into a single society. A multicultural society is a ‘multi-society’, and that is what we see increasingly in Western countries.
Conservatives reject open immigration because a society is constituted by (i) its people and (ii) its formal governance rules. Ultimately, it is ‘The People’ that is the supreme constitution because it decides the formal governance constitution. Conservatives promote a country with relative economic egalitarianism because that is fair and because societies with wide disparity in wealth tend to be unstable.

I know a SA (born in Britain but relocated as a child) who has had to recently return to SA as they said his Wife (who has lived here previously with him) has to apply for her Visa from SA, as opposed to applying here. Just ridiculous, they are both hard working, tax paying people! But come over on a Dinghy from France and they put them up in Hotels and give them money every week, indefinitely.

Did you hear about the Cass report? Kids that receive gender affirming care are put on the inevitable track to medical transition. It turns out 80% of them are just LGB. The dysphoria youth experience coming to terms with their sexuality is well-documented. Medical transitioning is literally misdiagnosing this as gender dysphoria and trying to, "fix" their sexuality. Every single de-transer says the same thing. "Turns out... I was just gay." It's literally a more barbaric version of gay conversion.

CRT is from the 70s & 80s & QT which is the basis for Tavistock's work is like from the early 90s, so not something new, but much older than us.

Hundreds of years of colonization and imperialism, and informs understanding of why the world is the way it is today structurally, and in terms of institutions and processes. Far from "nonsense" or something that should be reduced to one term so that it can be more easily targeted. Doing do would actually make things worse and substantiate what CRT proponents and "the woke" are saying.

Had a conversation with a far left group the other week. They sat they next to us and came with "our group is to white and we need a black friend" i jumped in and said thats racists and they were like how? My black mate was on his back to the table and jumped in on it as well which was funny to watch a mirror to be put up to their face lol.

When I started my nursing training in 1995 one of the first lessons was the history of the NHS. At the time we were all wondering what this had to do with being a nurse. It was the start of the politicisation of the NHS. Hopefully there's enough people willing to stand up against the 4th Reich.
40 years ago, more or less, my mother enrolled, at age 50 (more or less) in a local university as a literature major. Even back then her instructor was spouting the kind of nonsense that would evolve into woke-ness. My mother wasn't there for that kind of ideological indoctrination, so after a particularly bad hour filled with nothing that she was there for, raised her hand and ever so sweetly asked if what part of what she had just heard was going to be on the upcoming exam.
I’m just astonished that Amy Gallagher was a lone voice at Tavistock. How were there not other sane people there not objecting to the woke rubbish with her? This is not a time for cowards. We all need to be speaking up and refusing to go along with this dangerous ideology.

I'm a POC, and in my opinion, life is unfair for everyone-that's just reality. But if you're living in a Western country in current day, then hooray! 🥳 You've found yourself in the most equal society that has ever existed in human history. There is nothing stopping you (within reason) from getting the life you want. To my fellow POCs: if you shake off the victim mindset that the media and education system tried to drill into you from childhood and incorporate gratitude and self-actualization into your life instead, then, you will be a million times happier.

Caving to most bullies doesn't placate them, it's simply consenting to be their victim. It's only those who are stout hearted enough to push back that make bullies feel suddenly "unsafe." The Tavistock clinic crowd just had a little trouble classifying Amy at first, but I think they're getting properly oriented now.
