Danny was way too quiet! Perhaps writing the book had dredged up a lot of unhappy and uncomfortable things from the past and wasn't always a cathatic experience. Either way, Dougie's personal problems aside, the best thing this band did, was take a much-needed break from one another. The break and group therapy saved not only the band but also their friendship. Dougie was the key to making this happen. As well as Tom! When either Dougie or his counsellor wrote to Tom, asking him to participate in the therapy session with Dougie during his time in rehab. And then Tom later suggested the whole band have group therapy. The difference between this interview and when they reunited in 2019 - it's like they were completely different people! I think the break and the group therapy, made them appreciate eachother more and strengthened their friendship and brotherhood!

They've had over 35 months in the industry... I know, its quite a while. But if you're going to compare them to McFly, then experience is the only thing in it. I'm a massive fan of both but I personally can tell from McFly's writing abilities and musical style that they have really developed over time, and I hope that One Direction will continue to do so too!

One Direction have been judged by their very first songs, their looks, their personalities, religions etc in their first 3 YEARS in the industry. Who says they won't progress to become as amazing musicians as McFly? This is only the start for them, so give them a chance!
