Thanks for sharing this method, Jerri. Believe it or not my husband prefers the instant rice. So, I rarely ever make regular long grain rice. But when I ever do it is so mushy so I will try your way for sure. Take care.
Hi Cindy. Thanks friend. Instant rice is great too. Love it. I think I am a lover of all rices lol. Hope you are enjoying your day. Thank you again for all the support. 🤗
Thank you for the basic rice cooking recipe. I usually do not rinse rice but it makes sense to get off any excess starch. Your recipe is how I cook rice on the stove. I found a recipe for oven cooking rice many years ago that is great when I am oven roasting something. Same proportions and slightly more time. And I add leftover vegetables like carrots, peas, and mushrooms at the end to dress up the rice. But rice with a little butter, parmesan cheese, and black pepper is my favorite way to eat it.
Hi neighbor 👋👋👍😁👍❤️✌️🙏. I hope you are enjoying your weekend ! I am. It’s quiet here at home. The hubby is out visiting friends and I’m being a couch potato. Lol. You take care and continue to enjoy your weekend. 👍🥰❤️

Great idea to teach the basics, Jerri-ellen. Even those of us who hav e cooked for decades enjoy learning. For instance, I didn't hear about rinsing rice before cooking until earlier this year!
@@denisej4522 hi Denise thank you ! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was very nice. We never stop learning don’t we. Thanks again my neighbour and friend 🤗
Great helpful video Jerri-ellen 👍 That's perfect rice. We eat a lot of different types of rice. I find it sometimes helps my belly. I love your new tap 🚿👍
I’ve only made rice on stove a couple times , I usually use the boiling bags lol . I plan on digging out Daves rice cooker and try that! Thanks for sharing
I hope you had a happy Halloween, Jerri-ellen. 🎃 I didn't celebrate the holiday this year because of no fun. 😭 I occasionally celebrated it within a long time ago. I looked at the classic costumes online. I love the ones that symbolize the round "mustard and ketchup" squeeze bottles and hotdogs. I love the hats that symbolize the squirt nozzles. Now that October is over with along with Halloween, November is here. I should be looking forward to American Thanksgiving with watching the parade and having a feast. I love chicken flavored rice. I squeeze honey barbecue sauce on my white rice and beef rice. I like the round large barbecue sauce squeeze bottles from the buffet bar at Golden Corral. I wanna squeeze the original sauce on my white rice and potato wedges.
Hello friend! This video reminds me of my Grandmother on my Dad’s side. She came to America as a small child (from Finland). When she would babysit us she made us rice with cinnamon and a little sugar and some milk. It was delicious. I’m not sure what the name of it was but it was amazing! Thanks for the awesome memory! ❤️😘🙏🏼
oh my yes . my Dad use to make that way for us. I will have to do that sometime again . I haven't had that way in forever. thank you so much for reminder Nancy what a lovely memory you shared with me thank you!! much love always sweet friend
Hi Trey Hun how are you doing? Do you know something.... you would have enjoyed passing out the tree with Graham and I we had a few trick or treaters visit that were dressed up as hotdogs with ketchup and mustard on them and also someone was dressed up as McDonald French fries with ketchup and another trick or treater was a bottle of mustard . It was neat to see the costumes.. I love chicken flavoured rice too it is so good. thank you for visiting my friend . enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Cooking rice is the easiest thing to do. I started doing it at age 12 because I had to cook dinner for my family because my mom was at work and my dad was… let’s just say lazy. The instructions on the side of the box or bag are simple and clear. If you follow them as written, you’ll never have any issue with cooking rice no matter if it is long grain white rice, converted white rice, basmati rice, jasmine rice or Arborio rice. Btw, I’ve never once rinsed rice (it’s never been sticky or mushy either) and I’ve always cooked it in a regular pot on the stove top. No rice cooker is needed. Just follow the instructions on the bag or box and you’ll have perfect rice. Btw, I’ve been cooking rice now for over 56 years making me 68+ years. Cooking anything is simple. Read the recipe as it is a step by step procedure on how to do it perfectly!
