Steve is the absolute most grossly underrated frontmen and singers of all time, I've only seen bootleg shows of theirs, sadly I never got to see them live but Steve is an extraordinarily electrifying front man and sounded superb........
Nice interview! I was one of the guitarist on Steve's record and played with him in Funny Money for 18 years (after Kix broke up and before they returned...). I'll be checking out your other episodes!
I was at one of your last shows I do believe it’s was on route 40 Pulaski highway where Jimmy comes in to talk to Steve about getting Kix back together and Jimmy gets on the drums and they played Don’t close your eyes..
Definitely a fun interview to see. From living in the Baltimore area I was able to see Kix at least 20+ times over the years from Hammer Jacks to M3 Festival they always put a fantastic show. I do remember hearing a story that while Kix’s doing a show at Hammer Jacks and Jon Bon Jovi was in town catching the show and He stated that Steve was the best front man he has ever seen.
The first time I heard Kix was in 1996. I was in the 6th grade, and found a copy of Blow my Fuse at my local public library. I checked it out because I thought the cover art was cool, and it wound up being the first album I've ever listened to where I liked every single song. Fast forward to today, I have 4 of their albums, and still haven't heard a Kix song I don't like.

The first time I saw Kix was in the late 70s at a place called Leonard Town Warf in so. Maryland. Steve was on drums and part way though the show He got up, Jimmy took his place, then he crawled under a 1 foot stage up to the front and jumped out and finished the night singing on the front of the stage. I think He also played the sax that night. The band I was in was a band called Monarch, from Gaithersburg MD. We went on to become friends with them and backed then up several times. Steve, remember The old mill in Hagerstown? Great times Steve Whiteman!!

Thank you...fan from 81-82.
Great interview! Will definitely be checking out the solo music. Steve is hands down one of the best front men out there and always has been.

If they ever built a Mount Rushmore of front men, it would have to be Jagger, Mercury, Van Zant, & Whiteman
They would first have to put James Brown and little Richard on there
I saw Kix in 86/87 in Harrisburg PA. Everthing (vocals/drums/guitar) EVERYTHING sounded amazing - one notch below studio if that.
Loved the interview
Cool guy.
