Not normally no, but you can add it via console with the following "set RailroadClothingArmorModAvailable to 1" without quotes. Now if you really despise the railroad you need not deal with them at all in order to have access to weave.
Ballistic Weave Mk5 on the Mechanist Armor is ridiculously OP, you get around 180 defense from basic damage and energy damage. It's a shame you can't add the weave to Grognak's costume though, I'd love to run around punching things in a loincloth.
you mean 110 for ballistic weave 5 per item, or 220 where you said 180.
Exactly extremely OP so many people overlook that suit. Especially with the lone wanderer perk maxed out. I want the coat off of Elder Maxson

Longfellows hunters coat is pretty good too 150 damage resistance 110 energy resistance with weave i get him as a companion just to trade his cool looking coat for fishermans overalls and send him away
That dmg resistance is OP? I usually have 400 basic resistance and 200 or so energy resistance at most.

+Roarke Suibhne Kinda agree, but at high levels, in the highest level areas and on survival it takes hundreds of rounds to kill just one goddam supermutant. They've substituted AI, strategy, skill etc to just making enemies total bullet sponges.

That's why toughness is one of the worst and most useless perks in the game. You'd be better off in the long end staying in power armor or grinding for Balisttic Weave.

2 words: Adamantium Skeleton. It reduces limb damage and crippling effects on your character at the lower levels, but rank 3 removes it altogether.
Also, Solar Powered 2 + Ghoulish = essentially free regen in sunlight. However, you may wish to forego Rad Resistance if you're taking Ghoulish, and vice-versa.
Plus, Curie's companion perk, Combat Medic, will, once per day, heal you 100 HP when it drops below 10%, which could work well with a high level, Endurance, and Nerd Rage all combined; you heal a little more, and are able to Nerd Rage more safely.
Of course, the Nerd Rage and Combat Medics are not meant to be abused; they are very situational perks, but it is oftentimes just the thought that counts.
Working way too hard... Ninja, sneak, sandman, better criticals, blitz and kremhs tooth = one shot anything
Just a slight correction: Toughness is +50 damage resistance, a flat amount, not a percentage. Very big difference.

lol i was in survival about lvl 20ish in T-51 power armor trying to build tanky when i stumbled on a Deathclaw that just walked up picked me up and proceeded to kill me like the Banshee's did in Mass Effect.
power armor sucks though. I tank everything by lvl 30 on survival, without powerarmor
+George Spigner power armor doesn't suck whatsoever, my level 36 in fully upgraded BOS paladin power armor never has to worry about anything ever again.

I never knew about this. After I saw the video I went through my stuff and found out I have almost a full set. It's pretty broken since I have max rank toughness, lifegiver, and 3 in lone wanderer. I just walk around with armored army fatigues, my chest and both arms with sentinel's, and on my legs I have Acrobat's. It feels like a better power armor that I don't have to repair. Now all I need is a helmet.
BTW the game calculates resistances one-after the other, so a 15% reduction actually means a 0.85 multiplier on all incoming damage, so 5 pieces of sentinel amour does actually has a percentage resistance of 100*(1 - 0.85^5)
Should be about 38% damage taken with 6 pieces, if my quick math is correct.
Two dynamic I think all your videos are great and very usefull nearly every video you have made has helped me in my adventures in the fallout world plz keep making good videos like you do :D
I believe that you can become literally invincible, seeing as how there is also sentinel helmets, and sentinel weapons. With 6 pieces of armor on, plus the 15% from the weapon, you'd have a 105% damage reduction. I'm not sure whether or not you'd gain health if you were damaged, but it's still fairly ridiculous. Of course, the sentinel effect for weapons is only on melee, so it might not be the best, but just whip it out if you're somehow getting decimated.
I just use legendary kneecapper weapons. I can't be killed if the enemy can't walk over to me.

I use legendary instigating weapons. I can't be killed if the enemy has no head (I one-shotted Swan, for instance)

You also need the armorer perk up to max level to apply the max level of ballistic weave because it is required at the bench

in the far harbor dlc there is an over armor that is only surpassed by power armor. (note: it;s heavy as balls. bowling balls) and a wetsuit you can wear under it. the wetsuit has 10 resistance to everything.

Don't forget to add a Steadfast legendary weapon of your choice. It adds damage résistance while aiming. I have a Steadfast plasma flamer for the up close kills and a long range Steadfast for sniping. Impressive combinations. I fell like I can take on Open Season now and rid Nuka World of the raider factions. I am on level 66.
animantium perk is also a good add for the HP build it makes it a lot harder to cripple you and some other stuff its been awhile since i last looked at it
If you can get 6 pieces of Sentinel's armor (helmet, chest, two arms, two legs) and opt to use a Sentinel's weapon (only applies to melee types), you'll be literally invulnerable while standing still without any perk investment whatsoever.
The caveat is having to use a melee weapon to achieve that, which can be a nuisance when dealing with Raiders or Gunners or other enemies that maintain distance. Blitz (Agility perk), especially at rank 2, can help to cover distance to a target. Blocking an attack registers in the game as "standing still," so even if you were just moving, blocking a rifle butt or Super Mutant swing will activate your Sentinel's effects. If you opt for ranks of Rooted, it's also a convenient way to set up the damage bonus when you retaliate.
once you hit 100% and over with sentinel prefix and have it activated (standing still) all enemies flee 100% of the time. no need to worry about bullets for your melee character :p
That was my idea when looking at this.. Why no all pieces? And for good meassure, get it on your fatigues aswell!
When modding on the PS4, i put Sentinels on all marine assualt armour pieces with army fatigues ballistic weav m5 aswell as Sentinels on that.
7 pieces total, all with 15% reduction = 105% reductíon
you could say you have become a god with the ballistic weave mk 5 and sentinel armor pieces without the perks you have chosen but with the perks you have chosen you can head into the glowing sea just like that and you'll be fine. just make sure you collect a lot of ammunition and guns of your choice.
Now, Attack dog three makes it so that you take 50% less damage when adventuring, and Dogmeat doesn’t affect lone wanderer

The thing about Fallout is that basically every game allows you to become nearly invincible with the right set of perks.
Life Giver and Adamantium Skeleton would complement this build rather nicely as well.
if you are combining the Balistic weave, the sentinel's armor and the perks Rooted, Toughness and lone wanderer, a better perk to go with this is Nerd Rage. since you will be taking so little damage while standing still that if you do manage to drop below 20% health you will increase damage dealt to enemies, your own damage resistance and time slows down. The last level of Nerd Rage Heals you when you kill people. The only other perk you might want or need after that is Adamantium Skeleton just to protect your limbs from explosions.

(I just started playing this game, my current build is more about taking no damage at all (stealth), and have lots of INT for much more XP, 27 INT at night and 24 during day, always squirrel stew, I'm only lvl 130 in 9d 2h 48m though, survival is a lot easier than I thought, glad I chose it, haven't tried any other difficulty yet)
You may want moving target for when you do move.
When the enemy can't really hurt you, it does take some of the thrill out of the game. I need a certain amount of challenge and NOT be crazy OP.

using sentinel pieces is rubbish, you can achieve super tankiness by good perk selection. Using toughness from the endurance tree and add things like solar powered to regen health and life giver, then with a few points invested into charisma, take lone wanderer for additional damage resistance and damage boosts while traveling alone or with dogmeat. If you are going the melee route you can get even more damage resist by siding with the pack in the nuka world dlc, their perk gives you 25 percent more dr. You can have a very solid character that doesn't really need to use power armor, unless you just like the power armor aesthetic and all which is fine.

yeah but you can use blitz to activate melee kills thru vats -it won't disable rooted so you can be a super tank and teleport kill like a movie horror villain, if your shooting then standing still is not a big deal but it is more a build for vats users -makes an epic gunslinger, walk into a room while bullets bounce off and gun-fu the entire place in a single quickdraw like a boss :p
I was playing fallout 4 and I noticed I was regenerating health hecka slow so I thought it was the mole rat disease thing then later on I noticed it was on survival.......

with goulish perk on ps4 it doesn't remove rad resistance, it just means your healed when rad damage is dealt, so what happens is you still lose the max health, but you just get healed
Yes! Thank you, that is an awesome tip. Basically, if I find a "meh" armor that has the "Reduce damage while standing..." legendary effect I really am better off using it instead of more powerful armor!...
Now, taking into account the additive nature of this legendary effect, if I find/use FIVE pieces of armor with it, then it's 75% percent damage reduction! Awesome! QUESTION, though: Does the bonus apply to Radiation damage? If so... wonderful. If not... then useless.

+Bob Bobson Pfft, my guy just snapped one day. Was talkin to Paladin Danse up in the command center (in power armor obviously), and then just pulled out a ripper and murdered everyone. He still wears the Elder robe to this day, not as armor but as a sign of dominance.
You can also get sentinel's weapons, like a switchblade. This adds another 15%

Pretty sure that Ghoulish is useless. As far as I can remember, it requires on you taking radiation damage to regenerate lost health. So you actually only hurt yourself more in the long run. The rate of healing is also linked to the radiation damage you take, and it's only effective if you're exposed to a LOT of radiation. If you're using anything to reduce radiation damage then that will also limit the healing effect.
This build is sick
With that built, a Deathclaw might not be able to do you much harm, but a few Bloodbugs with poison damage can kill you in seconds. Not to mention that kind of armor will not save you from Rad-scorpions poison damage as well.

Honestly Fallout 4 is quite easy despite playing on survival. It was moderately hard in the beginning but once you pass lvl 20 you are almost unstoppable

When you add the balistic weave does it say armored because I upgraded a military fatigues and it says the defense is upgraded but when I tried it out I got wrecked.

Even at level 70, I still have a lot to learn. I didn't even know about ballistic weave. Although if it is only through the Railroad, I'll never see it. I beamed in there once with Strong, and they hated me ever since. Had to kill them all. Just so you know. If you want to keep Railroad friendly, don't bring Strong there...

More often than you think. Also I tend not to fast travel so jumping down from high buildings is very handy.

It still works on Very Hard. However I will say there is a 99% chance it will not work on the new Survival mode. On Normal difficulty you don't even need to bother with the Sentinel stuff, just get the Ballistic Weave and Combat armor, and you're pretty much unkillable.

+George Spigner Consider adding a few mods: Commonwealth Spawns Extended. At level 70, I get killed all the time. Even with X01 Grognak enhanced mark VI. I've got weapons between 207 and 2700 power. My game is set at the second highest level of spawn, and it can be insane at times. Just glad I can summon Institute synths with synth grenades. LOL. Also add More Durable Vertibirds. If the Brotherhood hates you, they are much harder to bring down, and they have very challenging weapons to deal with.
Excalibur Daking did the update for survival mode make it harder yet? I play on ps4, lvl 59 and I haven't used a stimpack in 10 or 12 lvls. I eat through everything. Planning on using only NON LEGENDARY weapons and armor soon as to not quit forever.
George Spigner Sorry to hear it. I understand with PS4 you cannot use mods, correct? If that were the case for me, I would have gotten bored with this game at level 30 I think. Now I'm on level 71 and the fun never ends. Still a struggle to survive, and I die more often than I should.

Ghoulish originally still gave you radiation damage, but did heal you for the damage as well. You mentioned you don't take radiation damage. Did they change it?
Remember you can also get the sentinel legendary in melee weapons

Giant|2obot Ballistic weave is a crafting option. That shouldn't be tired to any faction. that's "gameplay".
its definitely not gameplay, you definitely dont need this to complete the game, each factions has benefits, this is the benefit of this faction, you dont get all the faction benefits, thats the point of having multiple paths
you only had to do the first few missions with them to get it. you don't have to choose them to be your faction.
It doesn't make sense not having access to Ballistic Weave when you have access to workbenches and the game keeps getting add-ons.
The average gamer would NEVER realize that they need to complete missions with the Railroad to get access to Ballistic Weave.
From a pure design point of view, having to "find the railroad" and having to "craft the Transporter" are HORRIBLE GAME DESIGN.
GOOD GAME DESIGN is when a player can simply play a game, improve their skills at playing it and complete the game without outside help.
Finding the railroad WAS FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE without using online help.
The Molecular Transporter building required you to understand building...which up till that point you probably hadn't done - AND IS FUCKING POORLY EXPLAINED IN-GAME.
Connecting all the parts was even MORE FUCKING RIDICULOUS.
There's NO REASON why all the components couldn't simply be built together with the necessary junk and powered together on one line.
This shit should have never made it past beta.
This build feels like cheat mode.
Anyone who wants any kind of challenge from this game, don't do this.

Baseball uniform is a better choice for ballistic weave since you gain +1 to strength and agility and battered fedora for +1 luck

I play on Survivor and I find with the power armour and the lone wonder perk with jet its just to easy. So im not playing a stealth character / sniper without power armour. Its more of a challage and no lone wonder perk. Max enudrance so I can run further
