Excellent information. On the verge of committing to the sport. This was very helpful. Attended a class but did not suit up…it was awesome.

Hello Chris I'm 57 I've been working out for 35 yrs weight training I'm recovering from a strangulated hernia and shoulder injury (and a bad attitude) I have to do something and have been researching and fallowing BJJ your advice was solid as soon as I get my doctors clearance
I'm heading off.. My goal is simple BE HUMBLED and build from there , get a good workout lose some weight. I'm thinking three times a week should work for now. the belt system really is not a motivator for me. Thanks.

I’m new purple 59. Coach asked if I were 44. I want to appear agile at the age of 90. Not old & decrepid.

So I've wondered if I'm to old for something new like this. But then I started wondering if I had started when I was 18, I wouldn't of been 100% committed to how I could now being 39. I was chasing tail and partying back then, that chances are I would of thought I was some tough guy at 19, drunk, and picking a fight because I'm learning bjj.
I want to join for weight control but also open to the idea for competition too. But Instead of living through my kids that do a variety of sports. I want to live for myself and do something. I'm signed up for a free trial for my local academy, but I keep finding excuses to not go because I'm a b****
