As a 2000s generation, I can't 'go' with old movies like the big b era.. but SRK is also an old actor, he has ruled Bollywood for 3 decades. But I can go with SRK's movies, especially D0N! his style, his aura, his charisma, his evil laugh, his fighting skills are unmatched.
Both versions are amazing. One amazing thing about srk is that he never tried to copy big b . He dances in his own style and same with udit narayan, the singer who sang this song in his own style. But kishore kumar is Kishore Kumar 🙏 . In the original don , kishore kumar really sang the song by chewing "paan" , he was famous in Bollywood for his antics 😂😂 .
You are right guys! Given the plot twist in the new Don movie, the song did not quite sit well situationally. However, the original song is so iconic that it was impossible to remake the movie without the song. They tried their best to make it look fresh but the original takes the cake at the end of the day.
Srk is good but Amitabh is great. Even though srk really tried hard in this song, Amitabh was effortless. Also the composition in the new song was really bad. Old song was just pure, simple and original. It had that folk song vibe & dholak really compliments the song. But in new song it's just too much electronic music. Same way udit narayan is good but Kishore Kumar is great.
I remember watching Big B's don after watching SRK's one cuz I loved it so much, and I kept waiting for the big reveal at the end and was so disappointed lol I didn't know Farhan changed it and what a change! When I rewatched after knowing the end I noticed so many subtle hints through SRK's expression and dialogues, SRK' Don will always be superior to me
When this song released people were convinced SRK should take over the iconic Don character. He made it his own..we as an audience need to accept Ranveer Singh being able to bring his own flair
I have never watched Amitabh Don, but I have watched his version of this song, what can I say, I just love SRK's version ❤️..especially the dance part.. Amitabh is not good at dancing.
