This is what us folks from this era mean when we say "substance" and "conscious rap". It doesn't have to be preachy, but talk about something other than broads and dope. Long live the Dog. Reunited with Aaliyah and Boomer 💛🕊🐐
And for the record, X wasn't an addict by choice. An older "mentor" laced a blunt with coke/crack when he was only 10 years old. Smh
Nah thats wild !
Yh he was 14
@flaminfrag2514nah he was only 10 when he got laced he was homeless and a older dude he looked up to laced his blunt.
I’m telling Yall as a 80’s baby the 90’s and early 2000’s was different.
The late 80s, the 90s, and the very early 2000s had the best emcees with real lyrics. After that it was all downhill with a bunch of corny mumble, trap, and drill rappers with no substance or originality.
This song is so deep….. it’s like his autobiography
Audiobiography
Such a deep emotional song. Struggling with drugs and living a shady life and having brief moments of clarity where he’s overwhelmed with guilt and embarrassment and feeling strong feelings of knowing he can get his shit together (before falling right back into the grimey life). Such a vulnerable song. RIP 🪦
Yes!! Well said
We really did have the best music.... FACTS...
This song hits so different now. RIP DMX, Ruff Ryders Ryde or Die.
I still have all of his Cds... got my first in 2002. I would dime my stereo in my lifted k5 blazer with DMX playing. On a logging road party. D was the shit!
You have a good interpretation of this. Good on you brother. And thanks for not using the censored version.
❤️❤️ R.I.P. DMX 🕊
Love this one 💜💜💜 like love for real .. Thank You for this reaction 💜💜💜
God, i mustve listened to this album of his like a 1000 times! Cool to hear that. RIP DMX
I like the fact that you recite back the lyrics! I lived this generation of music! I was 15 in 1998 when I first heard this song. We had just lost Tupac and he breathed air back into our souls again. Coming up on 42 years old and have been through the ringer. Yes one man army! Your on point... anyone who reacts to DMX I'm subscribed too....
A few reasons why i'm still here... X was one of em. Turning 50 this year...
I'm so glad to hear that you love DMX....one of the best rapper in that era!!! Saw him in show (HArd knock life tour) and it was fucking lit!!!!!
Our music was so much better than today’s music, so glad I was a teen during these times….I will die on this hill!!!!
Rip DMX 🕊 He was indeed a real one!! He did his bad things, (like we all have) but being so famous.., X always stuck to his faith in God. I respect him so much. Idk, but people & myself still think his sudden demise was a bit bizarre if you will. You see, right up to that fateful day, he was on live talking/preaching the word of Jesus Christ. And he was clean!!! He was supposed to go on a big tour with others (big names in the industry🤨) & if you know how it is today with being basically outed in Hellyweird as a man /woman of Faith? (Allegedly) Well, that’s all I’m going to say. Great reaction. New Subscriber btw. 👍 ❤️ & ✌️
That song hits different. RIP DMX
DMX is one of my favorite artists of all time. I actually got to see him live in concert back in the day. That shit was BANANAS!!! His first album "It's Dark And Hell Is Hot" is one of my favorite albums ever. This joint is so crazy. You are right, there are levels to this shit. DMX is a LEGEND. RIP to the LEGEND🙏🙏🙏 Def would be here for more DMX reactions🫡✌️
Honestly there will never be another X
RIP X He was a real you can’t go wrong with an X song.
This song was deep back in the day I lost my father around the time this song came out. It helped me thru that greatly! Even to this day when I get down on myself I have this song to get me back track rite! And I will be 51 this year X helped me thru alot in my life sorry he's gone sooooo soon! 9:02
Glad you speaking truth my Generation was the greatest generation of rappers who could never be duplicate. Thank you for showing love to the to those who opened the door for this generation.
Yes Sir, another legend. Put DMX "Here we go again", Ruff Riders anthem"," what they really want" and "It's on" on the DJ Clue "The professional " Album for starters...
Lets just put it this way in reference to the 'Drama with my Mama' line he had one of the worst upbringings you can imagine but his mom was going through alot too one day she dropped him off at a group home and said shed pick him up in a few months and left him there and after that his grandma raised him thats why he used to get so emotional everytime he spoke about her after she passed yeah man he went through some stuff but he was always the realest to me and i selfishly wish he was still here the pain he absorbed was to be a voice for all people who suffer all around the world rest easy X
I love that you're gettin' it!! DMX deep. Great reaction!! RIP Mr. Simmons 😥🙏💔
Chills every time
this is arguably the realest song he ever made...and its sad cuz he couldnt shake hos demons and ended up dying cuz of the dope...he got high and it stopped his heart
As a kid from the burbs this song always spoke to me I was doing every drug possible then I became plugs dude put in work and paid off my house with 2 kids but this song was always in my Playlist. I've left that life but it still there but I've learned to control it
Oh I forgot to say in my comment below.
DMX- “Lord Give Me a Sign.” I think you’d enjoy it. New subbie. ❤️&✌️
Do some nas, mob deep, ks1, nwa, coolio, trick daddy, eminem, ugk, three 6 mafia, nate dogg, snoop dogg, crime mobb, ludacris, nelly, etc. Also i love the vids and keep the energy. These days you need music like this because we all going through shit everyday that has us questioning about tomorrow.

🔥🔥gotta do more dmx 2 pac notorious big
Bro dmx was the goat n just listen to the convo or let me fly or the rain
Forcing me to be a man when i was just understanding about a helping hand in other words he had to grow up before realizing that he might have been able to find or get help but because of his surroundings he felt help would never come
He already mentioned his pops, far as his mama goes, they ain’t really have the best relationship. I can’t remember every detail but from what I do remember, she basically abandoned him. Dropped him off at an orphanage or institution and never came back. X was really raised by his grandma growing up. There’s a documentary floating around somewhere where he talks about this stuff though
Check out "Ice Cube "Three Strikes you in ", How to survive in South Central" and "Extradition"for starters...
Naughty by nature ghetto bastard has the same vibe
Redd I pray you react to it's dark and hell is hot. Absolute top tier class rap album by the grandchamp himself dmx
I believe I’ve seen an interview where DMX said his mom abandoned him at an institution at seven years old and he waited for her to come back for him.
The 🐐 we all dod some coke in the 90s fam .smoking woolies was an everyday thang
WEEEE?!!!!!
@Redd.5k we the old heads not you young man 😂
His mother gave him away when he was 7yrs old to a group home.
His mother didn't want him, and she showed it.
Yo I believe the game heard this song and wanted to make something similar. So listen to “monsters in my head” by the game
U should listen to DMX Lord give me a sign

#PUSHWITHCOMMENT
please do DMX "Here we go again "....... please
Got it
REDD .....u gotta react to mac miller -2009
BS with my mama, basically he had problems with his mother at that time. She was a drug addict and didn’t care about him. there’s a video on here when he finally reunited with his brother and he cries like a baby when she hugs him
The truth never changes that material music is garbage and never last.
I'm gen x and I never wanna hate on the new music but I wish these kids would be more vulnerable and create something that can touch minds and hearts. We bobbed our heads and sweated out the clubs to lyrical masterpieces. And we still had hoodrat shit. But most of it was personal. Now it's all lies and glorified perc heads getting recognition.
Listen to any black thought song
Legamd
Legand
Gen z rap is terrible, but I will say I like buffet boys and g59 records, and what's funny is there inspirations are 36 mafia (the bling era) and the Crunk era of 3 6 mafia, also Lil Wayne, but as far as I know, any "deep" song by any rapper is just about hoe's and clothes, I'm so tired yall😂.
