The basics of the story is accurate. I’m a student of history. Yes, the narrator took some liberties with some details (we don’t have proof they physically held up of the flag, but maybe it was rumored to be true) and there was actually only one prisoner of war Francis was negotiating for release. What does bother me however, are the words they show incorrectly when printing the words of the anthem. “Held” should actually be “hailed” (which means seen.” I don’t know if that was intentional to push the notion the flag was held up by men?) The other misspelled word was “flight” which is actually “fight”. These two errors change the meaning of the song. Other than that, this does a fantastic job of expressing America’s emotions about our country/flag.
