  • Ukraine Launches Bold Incursion Deep Inside Russian Territory | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Ukraine has launched a rare incursion almost 10 kilometres inside Russian territory. Russian soldiers are currently trying to repel a Ukrainian convoy of 1,000 soldiers and dozens of armoured vehicles in the Kursk region. Putin has called the attack "a large-scale provocation". Why has Ukraine raided Russian territory? Palki Sharma tells you.

There is a background. You see only the result, but don't understand the reason. To solve the problem you have to go back to the reasons that provoke this war. Taking in account only results of previous decisions will not stop this war.
Russia and US have make a deal, only then war can be stopped. Unfortunately Ukraine doesn't influence anything here in the global game, it is just an instrument for both parties (US and RF).

Once again treating the subject with seriousness due to the lives involved,
      Some of my arguments:
1- Since 1990, the agreement on non-expansion has not been respected. ("...NATO would not advance eastward by even one centimeter") (I can send documentation)
2- Since then, NATO has not stopped expanding.
3- Even knowing the same consequences (war).
4- NATO did not hesitate to continue (up to the last Ukrainian).
5- For 30 years, NATO has continued to expand.
6- Especially after 2004, the USA has been very active in intervening in Ukraine.
6.1- Known as the Orange Revolution.
7- In 2008, George Bush supports and invites Georgia and Ukraine to join NATO.
8- In 2010, Yanukovych wins the elections.
      8.1- Changing Ukraine's foreign policy (non-block policy).
      8.2- In 2014, a coup d'état occurs in Ukraine.
8.3- (Victoria Nuland - Euro Maidan).
8.4- A coup d'état sponsored by the USA.
9- An interference in a sovereign country, which is punished by law (...).
10- Masked with "colorful slogans" (...).
11- Despite several attempts from the East,
      11.1- that were never heard.
11.2- Where diplomacy was always lacking (and continues to be).
12- What I consider to be a total "disregard" for Ukrainians.
      13- Masked with "slogans" (...).
14- President Zelensky's speech in Munich on February 19, 2022,
14.1- "suggesting" the development of nuclear weapons in Ukraine,
14.3- was the turning point for the Russian invasion.
15- If the East wanted to conquer Ukraine,
15.1- It would never have attempted a peace treaty after about two months.
15.2- A treaty that was about to be signed.
15.3- But Mr. Boris Johnson deliberately went to Ukraine
15.4- so that it would not be signed.
16- Pushing Ukraine into a war.
16.1- Also pushing Europe into a war that the people do not want.
17- If the East wanted to conquer Ukraine, it would never treat the war as a conventional war, but with atomic weaponry.
18- In addition to being a way to continue to "economically feed" the US war machine.
19- Creating economic and social problems worldwide.
20- Not to forget that in the same way, the presence of Russia in Cuba was unacceptable to the USA.
20.1- But the same does not happen in the opposite direction.
20.2- NATO at the border with Russia.
20.3- One weight, but two measures.
21- It has managed to bring Russia, China, etc., closer together.
22- The creation of BRICS with consequences in the economy (...).
23- Everyone has the right to try to be part of a certain "organization."
23.1- But there is also no law that obliges admission.
      Etc., etc.
24- Basic values, such as life, should take precedence over economic ones.
      Etc., etc.
*- Beware of information sources. Question, research, do not "join the herd"!
*- As Hitler said, the bigger the lie, the more people will believe it.
Summary: Everything could have been avoided with political will.
Wishing you happiness and peace in the world.

Not really, actually makes a lot of sense if they want to take any of their land back. Russia has the bulk of its combat troops inside Ukraine's territory under the presumption Russia is safe and Russia does not need to defend it. Russian support troops then just hang out safely in Russia.
Hitting that (and hopefully more) will force Russia to redeploy troops out of Ukraine to defend actual Russia. Russia has much more land for Ukraine to hit and will need to spread its troops thin. Once they do that, taking parts of Ukraine back will be more likely.

Russia has more troops than Ukraine, they have more tanks, they have more bombs, more artillery, more aircraft and more missiles. Russia advanced 10 kilometers in the Donbas at the same time Ukraine invaded Russia and unlike Ukraine it wasn't a raid, the Russians didn't end up abandoning the towns they seized shortly after taking them. Ukraine did a raid, that's it. The territory they seized can't be held because they don't have enough troops to hold onto it where as Russia has plenty of reserves which means when they take ground they keep it.
So sorry to burst your COPE Bubble but It's Advantage Russia.
