    I break down what the costs of living in Singapore are for me as a tech millennial in her late 20s. My cost of living has been adjusting since coming from San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities to live in.
    Note: this is not how everyone in Singapore spends money, but this is what suits me at the moment.

    Thanks very interesting, I have a daughter in law who now lives in the uk but comes from Singapore; I have visited once and stayed with my daughter in laws parents; so we got a idea of what it is like to live in Singapore.

    Hi Fang Girl, thank you for yet another very informative video. I have a few questions: (1) is the vaccination required to live in Singapore ? (2) what is a reasonable salary to live comfortably for a single person ? (3) Is difficult to get a working visa ?

    My budget is $1300-$1500 for everything.I order groceries online and I use home delivery .
    I love Singapore for being clean, safe and beautiful. USA Illinois 2 bedrooms, pools, exercise room, and man made lake.

    Wow, 40 Bucks for cleaning lady is a steal. We paid 80 for someone to clean our house here in Toronto. I agree, you get more and save more living in Singapore than overpriced Bay Area.

    You can join the National Library as a member for free. Borrow lots of books without membership fees.

      NLB membership allows you to borrow e-books via the Overdrive app, if you are ok with reading off your phone/tablet

    could you sum up the cost for food per month? I like your style of food. some people say 2 singapore dollar a meal in average, but I do not think I can keep my cost consistently in that level.

    Is tipping frowned upon in Singapore? I noticed you said you tipped the cleaner.

      It’s not customary to tip, but our cleaner does a good job and she juggles various jobs. Her rate is lower than market too and don’t want to find another person, so we just leave it as that :)

    sg is ranked most expensive city in world every year, unless you dont mind live like 80% singaporeans who also live in public housing HDB (crowded), take bus and mrt (cramped, squeezed), eat at hawker centres (noisy crowded hot sweaty) ... gov official stats for minimum cost of living is before covid sgd1473, now after covid all things and prices jump up sharply,

    SG is actually a lot cheaper than SF. It's housing, cars, and medical bills that are the real killers here. Especially cars w/ COE.

    US is WAAAAAY expensive and hard to do business cuz everyone is cheap. I'm in SF and it's starting to feel like living in China. USA is very unstable economically

    Hi Emily, it sounds like a perfect place for me. I grew up in HK. I am used to the humidity, heat, and crowds. I love people and busy social lifestyle. If there are more single attractive young women in Singapore like yourself. I will definitely consider moving there. Meanwhile, save a place in your heart for me.

      Immigrant is someone who moves to another country to live permanently. I'm not here permanently. Also, there is no shame attached to the term immigrant. My parents are immigrants to the US, so not sure what you're going on about. 🙃
