Hey hun. Would you mind if I asked you a few questions regarding moving abroad? (As you’ve had the experience via S.Korea) I don’t wanna DM you only to be overstepping. 🌸
Hey! Thank you for respecting my privacy. I'll be uploading a video about moving abroad and living in SK in the next few weeks. If you still have questions after that, then you can text me!
Thank you for this wonderful video ❤️ I would love to ask, when dealing with self-development or just trying to figure yourself out in this constant changing world, how do you extend grace and compassion to yourself?🫶🏽
Love this question! The biggest thing for me has been remembering that nothing is ever solely my fault. I am a tapestry of intergenerational stories, collective beliefs and my upbringing. So when I'm trying to change something about myself that has become unsupportive, I remember that I'm going up against more than the thing I'm trying to change, I'm going up against the ways I've been hard-wired to think. Thinking this way makes me realise that I'm not broken, it's not my fault, and the only way out is through understanding the bigger picture of how I came to be this way. I have sooo much to say on self-compassion and I think a video would be such an amazing way to express this further, so I'll upload one!
I also really love reading books about books!🥹...What are your overall thoughts on "Days at the Morisaki bookshop?" Would you recommend the book and would you read it again? I read the book and I was so surprised when I realised that I had gotten to the end of it because it was quite a short read. I was also quite disappointed since I really felt like the author was gonna dive deeper into Takako's life. Maybe take us along with her on her journey of self-discovery & deeper into her relationship with Wada. I love that it was mainly set in a bookshop, though!❤
OMG! Love finding someone else who has read it too! My sentiments are similar to yours. I was very surprised that the ending was the ending and my first reaction was disappointment. After a while, I appreciated the ending and the book in its entirety. I feel like it spoke to how simple self-discovery is if we allow it to be. It doesn't have to be this flashy quest of unearthing your deepest wounds. It can be mundane at times, you can rediscover yourself in a random bookstore. Transformation can happen in simple, boring ways too. At least I've found that to be the case for me. I'd definitely read it again! I think I'll read it when I need a reminder of how simple life actually is.
@justrefiloe Woow! This is absolutely beautiful!🥹 Thank you for sharing your sentiments!...There is so much beauty in simplicity as well as in the mundane, both of which we so often tend to overlook. Thank you for helping me to see the book with new eyes!❤️
