      You're welcome Cara! Did you visit the Witch of Gritch? That was probably our favourite. We got addicted to Burek! Thanks for watching! - Jon

    The steam coming off that food, and the fork, even AFTER you've taken a bite. Now that is hot out of the oven! The burek looks really nice, and like you said - similar to a meat pie, and probably eve pasty, though a different "contraction." We'd love to try that apple one! Everything in here looks really good, but are there many vegetarian options available there? As for the sweets... yes please! You always deliver such great detail on pricing and the dishes themselves. Thank you!

      All so very delicious! Ah, you know we did have a vegetarian option but that didn't make the cut for the video. The restaurant was 'vegehop' and it was really good and only around the corner from where we were staying in Zagreb To be honest, we didn't come across many dedicated vegetarian restaurants whilst in Croatia. If you are a pescatarian then you will have plenty of options! Thanks for watching Stephen & Andie!

    Come once to Varaždin and its surroundings! There are even more traditional dishes! Like Heldini Štrukli, Zagorska Šupa zašgana, real Zagorska Štrukli and much more!

      They were so good! I think if we stayed in Croatia any longer we would have gotten diabetes from all of the sugar - we just couldn't help ourselves it was all so delicious! 😋

    You're right. Strukli are topped with breadcrumbs that have been fried in oil.

    unlike most other vloggers, you have tried part of Croatian traditional cuisine. Most of the others get stuck on čevapi, burek and štrukli. Did you miss something? Well, you missed it :) Čobanac, Fiš-paprikaš, wine/beer stew, pashticada, peka, brudet, kotlovina, lamb on a spit, Slavonian meat products (kobase, kulinova seka, šunka), sarma, punjena paprika...

    We locals eat faširanac with vegetable stew or mashed potatoes with spinach sauce. That is tradition here.

    as a croatian, kremšnite are not from Zagreb, they are originally from Samobor, small city just near Zagreb, about 10km away...

    Watching this 2 years later I'm shocked how cheap (normal) everything was back then compared to today. Inflation and the introduction of the Euro everything has gone up +100% in Zagreb.

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Wow, that is crazy! We had heard that the introduction of the Euro lifted prices a lot. Sounds like we were very lucky to visit when we did.

    What about sarma or mlinci with saour cabbage? That shtrukli r so idiotic n way too expensive-u can buy them in some bakeries even in supermarkets for 5kunas and burek should be with cheese.c in Croatia is alaway c like in experience. So dolac is never pronounced with a k

      Hi Pritispuki, thanks for watching and for the advice! Yes, we ended up buying strukli from the supermarket as well, very delicious. Croatian pronunciation took a bit of getting used to and apologies for butchering it!

    Strukli is not typical croatian dish. It's only common in small part of croatia.
    typical Croatian food is Slavonian sausages, sarma, punjene paprkie, čobanac, janjetina sa ražnja, kotlovina

      I must disagree as Croatian I say its a tipical for Zagreb and middle Croatia as is Kulen fir Slavonia or Eastern part of Croatian or Black risotto in Dalmatia etc.. so yes It all tipical Croatian food.
